I'm not sure why we had such a hard time finding this place, but there are obvious signs on the road to direct you there. Only $5 and worth it for the fun of squeezing your car through the tree. We did it a few times since we were the only ones up there and had a blast taking photos. If it's busy, skip the detour. But if traffic is light, it's worth a stop!

A very interesting tree. A sharp curve to get up a small hill to the tree. Approximately $5.00. My car would fit through if I folded the mirrors in. My car is 17 feet long. There is a small turn going in or coming out depending on which direction you're going into the tree. I believe I would have trouble with that so I didn't go through. The height and width would have been fine. Loved all the flowering bushes on the way in.Price for entry: $5.00Ticket type: No ticket paid cash at the window of the small building.

This huge tree has had the center section removed, allowing small vehicles to pass through. Amazingly, the tree seems to be alive and thriving even though a large portion of the trunk has been cut out.Price for entry: $5.00Ticket type: Donation box to visit this quick photo opportunity for fun.

This place was really cute and well kept! I was super excited to drive thru the tree but I was scared my van wouldn’t fit! I regret not trying! It’s worth the detour to see and only $5. Follow my van-tures on Instagram for more creative travel content 🏾 @gracetheodor The Vintage Voyager 🚐💨

We were taking a road trip from South Carolina and after spending two days at Redwoods State and National Parks, we wanted to drive our truck through a Redwood Tree. Fun experience and worth $5. Make sure you pull your side mirrors in before driving through.

There is an entry fee. Wasn’t really busy when we came. We waited for one vehicle that got there before us. The road was a bit narrow on the way to it. It was a challenge to drive our large van through but it fit! With the mirrors turned in tho 😅. Just one giant tree but it was fun trying to get it through. Glad it wasn’t busy it would been a wait if you get 4-5 large vehicles trying to get through.

Your vehicle will most likely fit, but it's tight! We drove our 15 passenger Ford Transit (82" tall and wide) through with about an inch to spare on either side with the mirrors folded in. Is the $5 worth it? Absolutely! Is it the #1 thing to do in the area? Not really, but 5 stars, nonetheless.(Important note: a smaller vehicle in front of us drove through and scraped their side mirror, so if your driving skills are questionable, it may be better to simply pose your car in front or behind the tree)

Very nice old lady takes your $5 at a booth by the road. At the top of the driveway hill the is parking for about 3 cars plus one transiting the tree slowly. We cleared it with a 2014 suburban, just fold in the mirrors. Kids enjoyed touching the top of the tree hole through the sun roof

I see some reviews saying it is free. It is NOT free, but it was just $5. It may have no one at the booth and it is a trust system that you pay into the slot. I only had one other group in front of me and so was able to enjoy it at my leisure. A great tree and pretty much something you *must* do in the Redwoods - drive through at least ONE tree.

So.. it’s 1 tree. The path into it & then back out is awkward. Thankfully, the weather was rainy and there was only one other car. So we watched this Toyota truck go through and they barely made it.It’s $5 but I feel like it should be free. At least we had some good laughs. Tree of mystery were fun & the next exit.

Why not?Short drive up and down.Even though we were in a small car, we didn't think we would fit...measured..and we made it through.Boys were excited they could touch both sides of the tree when driving through.A great childhood memory!

$5 per car at the entrance and a short drive to tree. The road up was narrow, our car got stuck and skid. We did a reverse and safety drive up again. At the top there’s a spot for pull over or immediate drive thru. The car can nearly fit, so keep the side mirrors folded in. It was such a great experience for the family to enjoy this together for the first time Driving through a redwood tree.

It said in the line to the entrance "all vehichles". We only had a jeep and could barley make it through. We only had a $10 Bill and it cost $5 so we had to take two Laps. That was two times too many.I love big trees but this sucked!

This place was so nifty and cool I can't even begin to fathom how freaking awesome it was. We were in a Kia K5 and we barely fit thru the damn thang. But if I were you and you get the chance to go here please do because it really was worthy of a stop. Oh and just a heads up there is a $5 entrance fee but again it's totally worth your time and money.

It was neat, as a nature lover you can appreciate the grandness of the tree, however, I didn't know it would only be 1 tree. It was still awesome to see but it was really short-lived. If you're driving a truck, it may be a little tricky and a right squeeze. I'd recommend going up the drive way and making a u turn at the end and THEN go through the tree. It's easier to align yourself to the tree that way.

If you’re driving along 101, this is a must stop. There is a $5 fee per vehicle. There was no attendant but they have this drop off to put your $5. My husband drove thru the tree, with our 2017 Chevy 2500 Silverado with our son guiding him, he is 8! Wish I can upload a video but pics don’t do justice on how majestic this Redwood tree is!

This was a fun stop and something the kids will definitely want to experience. Nice paved road up to it and we'll organized. There are path ways past the tree itself that we did not get on but they looked nice. Fold your mirrors and you should fit fine but don't bring a trailer up as it's a tight spot to be turning in.

When we arrived the counter was closed, but there was a window to drop the $5 fee. Sorry, we were short by a dollar on cash. The road leading to the tree is narrow. So, be careful and watch for the oncoming vehicle. The actual tour thru the tree was amazing!!! We were guessing if our Subaru Ascent would fit without closing the side mirrors and it managed to everyone's surprise!I recommed not to miss this tour, if you are passing by this route.
