What an amazing experience. We were looking for a quiet escape with our dog and we were hoping for a serene place on the river. The new managers at Sequioa Lodge are so friendly and helpful. They went to great length to make sure our stay would be awesome, even made sure we had firewood to enjoy a peaceful fire with the sound of the river as a backdrop.The room was spacious and cozy (and clean.) There are steps right down the to the river with a nice communal deck to relax. The general store a cross the street (with a deli) should have all you need for your stay.We will definitely be back.

Management was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. The room was clean. They had a hangout area overlooking the river and There is a convenient store across the street. I received a phone call a couple hours after checking out from management letting me know a watch was found in the room. I accidentally forgot my Apple Watch. They made sure to get it back to me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be going back.

My husband and I stayed here over night, wish we could’ve stayed longer and enjoyed the lodge as it sits right on the river. We did get a chance to catch the last lights of sunset as we arrived. The owner was very nice and welcoming, gave us plenty of dinner suggestions during check in, which was greatly appreciated as I’m pregnant and trying to avoid certain foods. Our room was clean, and smelled so good! Would definitely stay here again.Rooms: Smelled nice and fresh

We stayed in the accessible room with a walk in shower, fold down shower seat, handrails, and plenty of room for a Walker to maneuver at night. The little kitchenette was perfect and we so enjoyed the lovely, large gas grills on the property.The place sits on a lake and the staff are helpful and welcoming.Will stay again when we return.Safety: Fully accessible room. Walk in shower with fold down shower seat and grab bars. Bathroom also contains a second seat outside of shower. Toilet also has handrails. Bedroom floor is uncarpeted and spacious for a Walker.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and can not believe how absolutely perfect it was! We had a cheer event for our daughter in the area and decided to stay an extra night, and we didn't want to leave! We have stayed many places in Kernville and this is now our top choice! Jim was amazing, so professional and friendly! The room was so fresh and clean. The atmosphere and grounds were so inviting and relaxing, and we were feet away from the river. Definitely recommend weather an overnight, an extended vacation, kids or no kids! A+, 10/10!

The owner was very nice and the rooms were super cute! Kernville is gorgeous and the lodge is along the Kern River.My daughter keeps saying "let's go back to our other house" even two weeks later. Needless to say we will definitely be back!

This was a beautiful trip for us. Our room was warm and cozy if a little quaint. The location is perfect with a stepped path leading down to the river. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My only complaint being is more a word of warning than anything else. The shower in our room was tiny. I’m a 6’1” 235 lb male, and I just barely was able to get myself into the shower as the glass slider into the shower was barely wide enough for me to squeeze through. Other than that little note, I would recommend this motel for any small family or couple looking for a picturesque spot while visiting lake Isabella and the surrounding area.

I don’t know how to start. First of all I really thought I wasn’t going to make it due to the storms since I was coming from Anaheim area. Freeways were closed ! But I end it up making it to this lovely place and welcoming ! The couple here are very very nice ! I came with here with my Partner and kid a pet for the mountains due to snow and the place was amazing ! Had everything we needed for the stay. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay longer but will definitely stay here soon again longer. amazing food as well around the area! You would need to book your stay here an experience it to believe it !

We stayed in room 17 with a river view. Super cute and most important (in my opinion), very, very clean. I’m pretty sure the floors are brand new. Air conditioning worked nicely and with the ceiling fan we were quite cool while it was 105 outside. Lots of seating outdoors and the view of the river is wonderful. There’s a little store across the street where you can get almost anything you would need and they serve burgers and sandwiches and more, including onion rings which made me happy! We left the lodge early in the morning so didn’t get to say goodbye or thank you so, thanks for the hospitality!

The property is an iconic lodge with very cozy and charming rooms. The staff/owners were so welcoming and friendly- they went out of their way to help us solidify our plans for the National Forest, helped us navigate road closures in the area, and gave us their contact info so we could call if we needed help while on the road or to get info on our next trip up. My wife and I will be stopping by the lodge just to say hi in the future, solely from the experience of our 1 night stay. 10/10 would stay again.

My husband and I spontaneously decided to head to the area for a much needed mini getaway and luckily they had vacancy. The rates were very fair. The room was clean, the queen sized bed was comfortable, and we appreciated that they had a coffee maker. Our room had an AC and heater unit along with a ceiling fan. They have BBQ grills for guest use. We grilled some burgers our first night and enjoyed eating outside in one of the patio areas. Everyone that I interacted with on their team was super friendly. And let’s not forget that the Kern River is literally a 1 minute walk from the lodge! My husband went fishing and while he didn’t catch anything he had a great time. This is such a wonderful place to relax and recharge. We’ll definitely be back.

I can't say enough about this amazing little place. First of all I love the manager!!! Rogene is the best manager I've ever had to deal with. Super accommodating and friendly and very helpful. We were calling in with no clue about this place and I basically took a chance and I am so glad I did. The rooms are so cute and I'm going to say it a million times in this review, but they were the cleanest rooms I've ever been in my life. Their cleaning person angie is impeccable and meticulous. We must have told her at least four times about how clean the place is. The views were amazing and falling asleep to the rushing River sound was a dream. There was a little sunken outdoor fireplace area which we enjoy that night, and there are plenty of barbecues bring your own food. There is a great little country store right across the street that you can get your supplies from including fishing supplies if you're into that. Also great owners there too. I can't wait to come here again. I hope to meet our friend Rogene and her husband again also!Rooms: Absolutely very cute and comfortable and clean! Decor is outstanding!Nearby activities: Yes, there are restaurants and bars and activities down the road.Safety: Felt completely safe hereNoteworthy details: The manager Rogene and her husband are such amazing people that I wish they were close friends LOL. Very accommodating and very sweet. They make the place worth coming back to. The cleanliness of this property was unmatched. We stayed at many places including high-end hotels and still nothing compared to the loving care put into this place.

I called to ask about the pet policy and our breed of dog and was told the rules by the manager. I told her I was making a reservation through bookings , She told me it was better to make it through her because I can save money ( 4 dollars) but whatever so I did book it then with her . We arrived 40 minutes later and she was asking us about our jobs and making small talk . We got our key and went to our room . We were right on the water so we left our door open until around 9 pm . My husband and our neighbors were outside smoking and talking most of the night. The next morning we check out and then around an hour later I get a call asking if I can call the motel due to the condition of our room. I was very confused because we always leave our motel very clean and in 40 years have never had any problems as we travel a lot . I call the manager and she asks why I did not tell her we had pets . Excuse me ? I absolutely did tell you and we discussed the 100 dollar deposit, the breed etc. She proceeded to tell me I was supposed to pay for them . Ok you are the one charging me !! I didn’t check my account to see so I guess it’s my fault? Then she tells me they we’re watching us on camera and saw my husband crush his cigarette out on the railing and throw it into the dry creek . That never happened also our room needed a special treatment because she said we’re convinced you were smoking inside the room . Not true at all . I have asthma and my husband smokes outside always . There is no designated area for smoking so people smoke right off the patio within steps of the rooms . I do not appreciate these false accusations and will never stay there again or recommend anyone else stay there . Also when we called her dog was barking so much I couldn’t even hardly understand her then when we check in she lets him run out of her apartment barking at guests

The room was very clean, cute decorations that my husband loved, bedding practically brand new with the bed bug cover protector on the mattress. In a beautiful location, quiet and quaint. The manager was very helpful and kind to us during our stay. Our favorite part was the beach and river access with the couple family and hangout spots around the property. We found our new favorite getaway in kernville!

We stayed in cabin 17, right near the river. The rooms were furnished with great decorations, a small kitchenette, and rocking chairs outside on the front porch. We only stayed for one night, but would have enjoyed staying here much longerWe fell asleep to the sound of the rushing river and the sight of the starry sky above. The only downside was that WiFi doesn't quite reach to all the cabins, but maybe you don't really need WiFi anyway.Lovely place to stay!

Thanks for the 12pm checkout! Loved everything about this place. Very clean!Room was small, but had everything you could possibly need. I prefer a quiet place and overall it was. I like that it’s away from the party scene in town. Only stayed one night, but I’d love to come back with friends.Went down to the river for an hour before sunset. The path through the rock garden is super cute.Loved sitting on the deck at night and listening to the river.Everyone that works there was kind and helpful.My only suggestion is a memory foam topper for the bed, it was pretty uneven and hard.

We stayed for just a night but could have stayed much longer. The rooms were clean and very aptly decorated, the person at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and it generally had a very casual and welcoming feel. The lodge backs onto the Kern river, which is absolutely stunning. In the short time we were there we saw shooting stars in the night and woodpeckers and other wildlife in the morning. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Clean, but small rooms.Almost zero reception on Att, Verizon has 2 bars.Right on the river, lots of grills and BBQ pits, big bonus, wish I had known that, would have shopped in lake Isabella where there are big chain grocers and bought something to cook.Very pleasant staff and I would stay here again.

Cozy, clean and very inviting.The rooms might be a bit small or maybe just we got a small one and the location might be a bit off but the lodge itself is very cute and inviting as are the rooms. Also the decor (wall stuff, bed sheets, etc...), give it a nice vibe.Can recommend it.

My family stays in this lodge every time we go up to Kernville. The location is perfect for fishing, tubing or hanging out at the river. The staff is always friendly and professional and quick to take care of your needs. During our last trip, we had an AC not blowing out cool air, so we notified the office right as we left to eat. They had a new AC unit in the room pumping cool air before we came back.Also, there's a convenience store right across the street connected to an excellent restaurant.
