Overall a good place to stay after a long trip. Staff is very friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. However the bathroom did not meet my expectations, the shower cubicle is very small, the sink looked old and worn. The pool area was clean, however the cushions on the sun loungers need replacement, they are ripped and badly stained as well as covered in pet hair.Washing machine and dryer worked well.

The inn hardly had any guests and they placed me in a room that had a connecting door to another room that was also occupied. I could literally hear the person breathing, blowing their nose and flush their toilet. Why? There were SO many other vacant rooms! Also they don’t answer their own phones, called 4xs, left a message and no returned call…rooms are not super clean. I’ve stayed at the other motels in town and they have much higher standards.Walkability: The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

This little inn was so adorable. Nestled in the foothills its a cute little tourist town with 1 bar and 1 saloon and a couple of antique stores and some little restaurants. The Kern river ran right behind the inn and you could see tents and campers all along the river.Walkability: Everything was within walking distance.

We thought it is located in a great area with a lot of restaurants, bars and markets around. The room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again for the location. The down sides on our stay the shower head had a very low water pressure when other people are showering in other rooms, AC didn’t work so well, thing that made up for shower/Ac, pool area the surrounding nature also the table and chairs outside the room the staff is very nice and welcoming. Thanks, will see you again.Safety: well monitored by cameras

Me and my partner had a cozy stay in Kernville inn. We thought it is located in a great area with a lot of restaurants, bars and markets around. The room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again for the price we payed and for the location. The down sides on our stay was that the shower head had a very low water pressure, AC didn’t work so well and it also made a huge sound and was located in the bathroom.

There’s not a lot of accommodation options in Kernville. I have stayed at the Kernville Inn on three or four different occasions. I always find the service to be good. The rooms are clean and the location is perfect. You’re right across from a park and the Kern River runs just behind the hotel. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Be sure to eat early because many of the restaurants close by 8 PM or so.Walkability: Walking distance to restaurants and bars, and the Kern River.

Room: comfortable bed, clean functional bathroom. Location was amazing: walk to all restaurants, Kern river across the street. Service: check in was great, they don't man the desk long hours so if you have a problem getting the internet (wheel of death) good luck. LOVE the chairs outside the room for hanging out/reading. HATE the fact that smoking is allowed at the chairs right outside of the rooms. Move it out much further! Bathroom shower is TIGHT! FYIWalkability: walk to restaurants, river, Ranger Station...Food & drinks: Kern River Brewing: we went there 3 times! Awesome

We came with the family and stayed for two nights. The price was appropriate for a 3 star hotel, which is what we got. We got a double bed room. The doors to enter the room and the bathroom were not aligned properly and would need excessive force to open and close. Everytime someone enters or leaves their hotel room you can feel and hear it. If you try to sleep in, it will wake you up. The bathroom was small, did not have a fan, the window wouldn't open and the door lock would jamb so the kids kept getting stuck inside. There is an A/C unit in the wall and it keeps the room just cool enough to be comfortable, but not cold. Our room had a small microwave that you had to brace from the back with your hands if you used it so it wouldn't fall off the mini-fridge it was sitting on. The service to this inn is non-existant after 5pm. I checked in after 5pm, so they taped my key and paperwork to the door of the office for me. Pretty easy. But, I watched another couple who accidentally locked themselves out of their room and had to wait for over two hours trying to reach someone on the after hours line to help them. The only time I spoke with an employee was at the front desk to ask for amenities and he was a bit short with me. The pool was very clean and relaxing, but you need a key to get in and OUT. Which was, again, annoying. This place is pretty cute from the outside, but it is desperate need of QUALITY repairs. I wasn't able to sit outside of my room in the amazing looking chairs because the sewage smell was just too strong. So, for us it was just an old hotel that had vacancy that we stayed in. It wouldn't be a destination spot for sure. The location was very nice.

Kernville Inn is the perfect place for a stay in Kernville. Located next to river and walkable to just about everyrhing in town. Rooms are comfy and the property is clean and quiet. This place has a unique charm to it and we loved our stayRooms: Bit small but for older hotel the rooms are charming. We really appreciated the ease of a late check-in, arriving around midnight! The concierge also allowed a late check-out on a busy day. Friendly staff and comfortable beds. Beautiful little yard out front of the room and great view of the town. We really enjoyed walking down to the river in the morning, my 14 month old loves throwing rocks into the water. Would stay here again.

Rooms are old school, with that in mind hope that the air was left on for you in the summer months. All around great place for the price, especially considering the location.

They gave me a nice room from which I could see my bike, which I very much appreciated.I arrived early, and the man behind the counter couldn't accommodate me yet (understandable), but he wouldn't make eye contact, as if he was afraid of me or disapproved of me. He kept away from me when I came back later, too.Weird and unsettling. Might pick a diff motel next time.

Had a great stay at the Kernville Inn! Loved this place!!The location was close to shops and restaurants, the property was very well maintained, and the room was large and spotless!!! Called ahead to make late check-in arrangements and everything went very smoothly! Great communication from the nice folks in the office. They have an amazing pool! Oh, and on Sunday morning, there was a wonderful little fruit stand set up out front. We got fresh, organic fruits & vegetables on our way out. We'll definitely be staying here again in the future!

Clean, well furnished, comfortable room with mini fridge and microwave. For an older property, the Kernville Inn has been well taken care of. Convenient location for forests and river activities. Outdoor seating outside every room. Nice pool area. Very friendly staff. Good rate for the area. Only downsides, the A/C didn't work very well and the walls are a bit thin when the neighbors got loud. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was very cute AND clean. My wife and I stayed here a few nights. Staff was super friendly and gave us the rundown on everything in the little town. They are literally right smack in the middle of everything. We went white water rafting there with Sierra South which was a blast i highly recommend that. And plenty of great food within minutes of walking distance. We will definitely be back to Kernville.

Great winter getaway right after Christmas! I made a mistake in the booking process (booked through a third party site that wasn't super clear) and booked a "no pets" room instead of a "pets ok" room. They were super communicative and called me the next day and were still able to accommodate us and our dog on short notice. They even left some doggie treats for us when we checked in! The room (we got a king with kitchenette) was super clean and with plenty of space and amenities. I was pleasantly surprised with everything that was included in the room, great value for the price. It seems to be run by a husband and wife and small staff. You totally get the feel you're a family guest as they're really easy to get in touch with and super accommodating. Kernville itself is an awesome little town. Super walkable with everything you need within walking distance from the hotel (groceries, alcohol, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, parks, shops, etc.). Also a really quick drive to some awesome hiking! We would definitely recommend the Kernville Inn, and hope to return for another stay soon!

Lovely place. Stayed here for two nights while doing some hiking in the area. The room was well-furnished and kept. It seemed very thoroughly cleaned on entry. The towels were very soft and the mini fridge worked well. The only thing that I could potentially criticize would be that the walls are very thin, but that's nothing some headphones can't fix. I'd stay here again.

Price was good. My only issue is the lack of warm water in the shower. Next time I'm getting up early to beat the other guest to a hot shower. Also I don't like when other guest smoke outside their door it just blows into nearby rooms. Like any other hotel/motel walls are thin you can hear the neighbors but with the air conditioner you can drown out.I love the location!

What a wonderful stay! I stayed here by myself for a single night and couldn't have been more comfortable or felt more safe. Not that it's a particularly dangerous area anyway, but when you're a woman traveling by herself, every little bit helps. Not only did the manager quickly respond to my email informing me my room was in view of three of the on-site security cameras and right next door to live-in staff, but checked to make sure the porch light worked and even left a flashlight by my bed. The bathroom was clean and roomy. The room was the perfect size for someone traveling by themselves. The location of the inn was perfect and I was able to walk everywhere (which is even more ideal considering right across the street is the AWESOME Sportsman's bar, and I was safely able to go enjoy myself there and not have to worry about driving back to my room).The next time I want to treat myself to a night or two up in charming Kernville, I'll be staying here.
