It's a friendly small town market. Store staff is helpful and courteous. I do most of my grocery shopping there. It has improved recently by adding refrigerators with doors for cheese, butter and other dairy items. Also, beer and wines are also enclosed in refrigerator with doors.

This Safeway location is awesome, store is clean, restrooms are clean, everything is always full and stocked, parking lot is big and always clean, and is nice to have a gas station too.The only reason why i gave three stars is because cashier didn’t greet or say hi or anything, and didn’t say thank you not even a bye either.I personally don’t mind that but i believe is part of costumer service and part of his job.

Apparently the concept of a night crew eludes management. I'm a 72 year old disabled veteran. I was in the store at 8:00a.m on a Monday and couldn't take my cart down virtually every aisle. They were all blocked. This is b.s.If not for the handful of wonderful employees, I would already be shopping elsewhere.

Big store with everything we need and some great deals available in the app, along with fuel discounts for grocery purchases. Clean. Well organized. Plenty of staff handling registers and keeping the store stocked, cleaning, taking care of produce, deli and Starbucks in the store. A nice experience.

ASK AND DOUBLE CHECKCame on 8.28 to buy a whole roasted chicken, but they seem small, so I saw the fried chicken on the deli, 16ct /$17.99. Got home, open the bucket, only 9pieces in there :(We were celebrating my mom's bday, I couldn't go back because her and the family arrived.

As you would expect from a Safeway and is well stocked and has standard prices (especially if you are visiting Pinnacles, this is more of a local location and not tourist inflated). However, the self-checkout scanners don't seem to be equipped to take Safeway rewards cards on devices and must be entered manually. Otherwise well stocked and a good grocery location.

Member prices are great. Digital coupons are even better. Clip coupons to save big on your spending and use rewards towards gas. It's a win win!

I've never figured out the digital coupons. I would really love to get the deals. I paid $7.50 for lunch meat that was on sale with the digital coupon for $2.50 but because I couldn't figure out the digital coupon I had to pay full price how is that fair? I use my club card!!!!In all fairness though this Safeway has gone better over the last four years since moving here to Hollister.They're stocking more which is wonderful. I think they finally got the message that they have to start stocking more in general with the housing boom over the last four years and with the amount of people moving here from San Jose and those cities further north of San Jose.That increase in population hit the stores hard especially when people started buying in bulk around Covid. They couldn't keep up with the need nor the demand. Remember people from these big cities think that they can get anything they want anytime they want. They're used to being able to stock up and buy in bulk.

Great grocery store overall. Probably the nicest out of the handful we have in town. Wonderful selection. The floral department is one of the best. BUT...my wife bought a couple of pieces of rotisserie chicken from the deli last week and they ended up being totally rotten. I mean fished-out-of-the-trash rotten. Couldn't really smell how bad it was until she put them in the car. Once we got home we found the source of the smell and in the garbage they went.

Very clean never too packed. Best hours to shop are in the evening because it's almost empty which is nice to keep a distance right now. Love Michelle M.. Super sweet and friendly Customer Service. I’ve ordered my groceries online for pick up 3 times now and 2 times I’ve had to call saying I was missing items. Will not be using this service anymore and prob not shop there either. Super disappointing

Is a grater store being a member us free Nd if you get the app in your phone you can get extra savings just clip in the app your coupons and when you yo to the store put your phone número and your coupons will be apply to your the products that have coupon

I love this Safeway! The workers are so kind and nice. They have some stocking issues at times, but overall a great place to shop while you're in Hollister. It's always clean and so are their bathrooms. Love shopping here.

From the Midwest, Safeway is a new chain to us. Very clean stores, well organized with extremely helpful staff. Everyone is happy to answer questions! Supply was reasonable considering the state the clutter is in with getting shipments delivered etc. The deals are good, it was a little confusing getting used to finding the deals and coupons. You don't need clicked coupons in our state to receive the deals. Were learning!

I got cupcakes for my friends, they were good even after leaving them in the open overnight everyone loved them. For my quinceanera we also got custom sunflower bouquets made and they did their job and were super friendly about it

Been shopping here for quite some years, staff is friendly. Store is clean. I also love the pharmacy services, the best. My negative staff is based on their online shopping service. My order is always I complete so I decided to get down and see if I can substitute the items, turns out the items were there but not in my order. So maybe a lack of effort? Or time?

It’s a nice store with most everything you need. Decent hot food, deli selections and bakery. Fish and meat department always looks fresh and is generally open longer than their competitor around the corner. My complaints; why I give it 2 stars, are club card and layout.Groceries are spread out from one side of the store to the other with the pharmacy and gift junk in the middle. Stuff I’m never looking for there. Maybe it only happens to me but when I miss something it seems I’m walking miles back and forth through the dead zone and it drives me crazy.Club card.I’m not the club card carrying type. I have an account but I don’t carry the card.the store had mine screwed up for so long it was impossible to use and I got tired of them saying they would update the information, only for it not to work the next time. For this reason I always seem to get screwed if I use the self checkout and sometimes when the cashier can’t find my information. It bothers me that if you are offering lower prices.... just offer the low price to everyone!! I hate having to remember if the items I picked up have club card pricing and whether I’m going to end up paying the higher price if I use the self checkout and can’t figure out how to get the discount pricing.Again, this may be my problem, but at the end of the day it is the store that loses my business because I don’t like the layout and I don’t like messing with the club card. With a few other stores close by I generally just avoid going here because of that. Who knows, maybe it ends up costing me more somewhere else but at least I know up front what I’m going to pay without the guessing game.Other than that for me, it’s a good store.

This Safeway should really be reviewed as two entities. The gas station is convenient, usually one of the lower priced, and generally nice to fuel at. It deserves 4 or 5 stars.The store proper is a different matter. This place is cramped like you wouldn't believe. Even before social distancing the aisles were to close together and the check stand lines went into the aisles. It's central actually harms this review because it is one of the busier places in town. Shopping isn't fun, and they have generally higher prices than Nob Hill or Lucky. If you have the time, Lucky is the better shopping experience all around.

Ask for Yvonne, she's very sweet and makes them sandwiches taste even better than what you see on the menu. Oh and they're fast in getting your order. I'm there at least twice a week, she also knows my usual or the alternate item.

Very very expensive! Just don't would be my advice. The one here in Hollister California. Others aren't so bad, but by far the most expensive place to shop here. Only go here for what you can't get elsewhere. The people who work here are great though.

Been shopping at this store for 20+ years. Have had good service and clean environment. In the last 4 month I have been disappointed. I understood the need to be patient during the upgrade but it is well past time to be making excuses for the shelves not to be stocked. I go shopping on the same day at approximately the same time since they started the remodel I have been lucky to find half of what I need. I may just give up and switch to the Lucky's store. Theirs are much better stocked shelves. This is not what I had grown used to from this store very disappointed.

I enjoy shopping at Safeway very much. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of, better than the other grocery store parking lots, where drivers drive every "which way." The deli is great, as is the bakery, great cakes and pastries. The "fish dept" people seem a bit paranoid, though helpful. The balloon people are great and recognize me. There is a very good choice of "little" things for older patrons, small containers of vegetables and fruit or yogurt. The choice of cookies and candy is very good. There is a great "blood taking" office, the people there are very competent. There is a great choice of wines. The beer selection is "ok." Ive only had two concerns with ice cream, the Tillamook ice cream was 'blue" once and another is seem to have plastic in the ice cream. My favorite time to shop is at the opening, though the self serve machines are down for awhile.

Love 5 dollar Fridays. Problem with sales shelves empty out quickly but you can ask for raincheck again depending on what the item is. I love the new refrigerators that were installed in cheese, butter and beer aisle. I used to have to wear a sweater and walk quickly thru these aisles. Now the items stay fresher and saving energy by not having items in open areas. Makes my shopping experience more comfortable.

Know they are clean. So with that in mind take a slip of paper from the donut area if you decide to grab just a bell pepper or a head of lettuce with your bare hands. Sometimes we forget to carry the sanitized cloth. Most vegetables are clothed but thank God for single items due to budget. Fighting what you touch and there again touch maybe not recognizes.💋😋

Store is big and spacious. They have a wide variety of items. The meat counter offer fresh steaks and chops. The staff in all parts of the store are cheerful, and helpful pop full of needed. There is a Starbucks which makes shopping nice, or a nice reward for completing the shopping.
