I upgraded to the 1-br pool cottage and the bed in the master is the tiniest bed I’ve slept in in the US! I’m 57. The walls of the bedroom are so close to the bed, my feet can touch flat against the walls. Low ceilings in bedroom and ceiling fan so low it would cut my fingers or hat, if on. I checked out early.Rooms: Low ceilings and very small bedSafety: Nightmare if they get an inspection. Not good for handicapped person

Picked this place to come see the Armstrong Redwoods. The lady at the front desk was very kind and showed us where to park. Grounds are well maintained and lovely. Nice rock features with nice touches of live bamboo and other plants. Great fire pit area. Did not use the pool, but it looks nice. The room (King Studio) is perfect for my wife and I. Comes with 2 comfy chairs, nice size bathroom. The room is very clean. Two lamps on either side of the bed are very bright, but they work great. Hidden mini fridge in the dresser was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this place.

I really enjoyed the place it was clean the people were friendly and helpful the rooms were a nice size The View was beautiful I would definitely go again just a couple of things that I would add to make it a five and one a major thing with B having a television in the bedroom having a microwave in the cottage having brighter light in the bathroom and Heat just some personal touches but I would definitely go again

We had a great 2-night stay at the Cottages on River Road! The check-in was very easy, and we felt welcomed by the friendly staff. The rooms were cozy, clean, and perfect for a nice place to rest at the end of an adventurous day. We appreciated how pet-friendly they are...with no specific breed restrictions like many places have. The continental breakfast was just what we needed to get the day started. Our stay was quiet, since we were there during the off-season...and we felt very safe. There are plenty of restaurants close-by...and a couple that are very walkable. The scenery was absolutely beautiful around the cottages, and the grounds of the cottages themselves were super cute and well-maintained. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area, and will recommend to our friends. Thank you for a great stay!

Adorable little cottages for a great rate right down the road from Armstrong Redwoods, and across the street from the river. Deanne was amazing, I let her know that we would need late check in and she set it all up as soon as my reservation came through. She even recommended some great local spots to check out. Rooms were neat and cozy, we came back for another night! Great vibes.Food & drinks: Delicious and portable breakfast sandwiches!

Nice little bungalows just before you get to downtown. Everything looks recently remodeled, and the room is very well kept.Cathy from the lobby called to confirm my reservation and, upon check-in, went out of her way to make sure everything was ready. She even went to the room and started the heater before we arrived.Nice clean rooms, and friendly people.

This place is fantastic!!! Everything about it was perfect. It was clean, well decorated, and the grounds were lovely. I appreciated the evening bonfire and smores, it really made it a bit more of a neighborhood atmosphere where you could chat with other travelers. If you didn't want to chat, you could sit on your porch and still enjoy the redwoods without being forced to socialize;) The morning breakfast was great and got us going for our day. The location was perfect, next to old growth redwoods, just a few minutes from the coast, and 10 minutes from the Sonoma airport. The service was excellent too. My favorite part was the resort cat! What a sweet animal and a great way to feel at home instead of a sterile Holiday Inn:)

Stayed here while taking a trip through the area. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to welcome me the minute I walked in the door. The grounds are very well kept, quiet, and peaceful. Rooms were clean and quaint, the mattress was pretty firm though which is the only negative thing I have to say. Everything else was great!

Really nice bed and breakfast. Clean and well maintained (in Guerneville this is not always the case!). There were families with young kids too so it seems like a nice quiet place for a couple or a family to stay.Food & drinks: The breakfast selection was pretty good.

Stayed Mar 9th in cottage #2. The night Guerneville was pouring buckets of rain and roads were not safe to drive. The heater stopped working in middle of night..no extra blankets in room. So I became very cold .lllWanted to take a HOT bath..Could not figure out how to turn on water in tub. The floors had no carpet, so floors were ice cold. But I was in a pet room because of my dog 🐕.(35.00 pet fee) The pet potty area was definitely designed for very little dogs. Kathy was very friendly. They didn't offer senior discounts or any because I did ask. I always wanted to stay there but once was enough for me .obviously I didn't have any smores or enjoy the pool.So it was not a great experience for me.

Rarely do the actual accommodations fair better than the pictures on the website. The staff was polite, funny and extremely gracious. A really nice continental breakfast, major ups on the breakfast sammies. The pool was small but clean and not over chlorinated. Right across the street from a decent little bar, deli and a pot shop. My only gripe to the owner is I would invest in some better, quality bed frames, the ones in our cabin were super noisey and kind of unstable.

This is such a great place to stay! I generally have very high standards for any place I stay, and these cottages did not disappoint one bit. My family rented two rooms and both were exceptionally clean. They were visually clean and they smelled clean. The furnishings were modern and quality. The continental breakfast was tasty and healthy. Although the fire pit and pool were not available this time due to COVID, we really look forward to coming back and enjoying those things. This is a perfect place to stay after a long day in Bodega Bay when you don't want to fight the traffic to go back home the same day. The cottage cat that roamed around the grounds was super sweet too. This is our new favorite place and we can't wait to come back.

Looking for a dog friendly place when we stumbled on this one. Liked it so much we booked another night 30 min after arriving! We stayed in the queen room, perfect for 2 people and a smalldog. Nice decor with flooring and no carpet. Great bedding and heater if needed. A small fridge for wine purchases and a keurig in room. Heard some road noise, however nothing kept us awake and it didn’t wake us up. Large patio with benches if you want to sit outside of your room. No view of the river from here, but we just walked across to the brewery and enjoyed it there. (Literally across the hwy). Breakfast incl and it didn’t disappoint. Warm sandwich and oatmeal. Juice, eggs, coffee, yogurt, bars, fruit and fresh homemade muffins. We will be back for sure.

I really loved this place! Upon arrival the front desk lady explained everything and then took us to our room personally. She had even turned our heater up prior to our arrival so the room would be nice and warm for our stay. The setting outside (courtyard) is very picturesque with flowers and landscaping. At breakfast there was quite a spread of food and plenty to go around. I would definitely come back here again in the future.

My wife and I are travel nurses. We travel with 2 kiddos and two pups. The cottages were a perfect place for us to spend a few days before our assignment began in nearby Santa Rosa. Our cottage was clean and cozy. The check in process was seamless. The staff was professional and accommodating. What a gem! We will definitely be coming back regardless of where our jobs take us.

Visited for 2 nights for our 42nd anniversary August 2022. We were in the dog-friendly cottage #2. It was very clean and cozy with comfy king-size bed and a nice large bathroom. It is a 25 minute walk into downtown but we enjoyed Stumptown right across the street with a taco truck daily for dinner. They set out a grab-and-go breakfast and coffee in the morning. They also set out s’mores by the fire pit at night which was fun. Really like this place and will return soon!

These are really cute places to stay and the surroundings were nice. The place is pet friendly but people were not picking up after their dogs, so that was gross. That is not the property's fault though. I feel like our cabin could have been cleaner. The sink wouldn't drain.
