Wonderful place to adopt from. The staff was very helpful in helping me find a pup that matched my personality nicely, she was very knowledgeable on canine behavior, and was a delight to work with. I love my boy too, this is his one year anniversary with me, and I'm SO GLAD I adopted him!

Got my best bud drifter from here! Straightforward adoption process. Gave me a note for the first vet check being free (he didn’t have any issues). Adopted him at 3, and he’s about 7/8 now! They had a really good variety of dogs - Drifter is a queensland heeler, they also had black labs and doxies that I saw. Found him on PetFinder and then headed up to meet him, and I wasn’t disappointed!

Great people who care about the dogs. I went there twice and each time Natasha helped me. She was very patient with me and my family, never rushed us and tried to give us as much information about the dogs as possible. We didn't end up adopting the first time but 7 months later we came back and adopted from them. Again, Natasha went above and beyond to bump up our new dog's neuter date so we could take him home a lot earlier ( a good 4 weeks earlier!).

My husband and I had a wonderful experience adopting our new pup from Sutter Buttes Canine rescue. The people are very caring of the dogs. They provided us with immunization records for our dog and told us all they knew of her background. A very positive experience! We found them and our dog through Petfinders, great program!

Never have i ever gotten an answer not a call back now matter what the problem was. Ive never seen rescues that only work from 9-5 ok you can only dump or beat your pets between these hours, of i don't get enough donations i can't help you......i do not understand. Rescue means help safe someone or something from a dangerous situation, come to aide of.. So it should just be a dog kennel, because rescues is 24/7 . I've lived in the Bay area my whole life up until 13 yrs ago i moved here, feels like i went back to the 80s or 90s here, this town has had no advancement...

We adopted a gold colored chihuahua who was 1 year old,18 months ago to join our 9 year old Min-Pin, who passed away last March. The chihuahua is the silliest sweet linking dog we ever had she loves everyone mostly the little kids in our home. Thank you we will visit again. We do want another Min-Pin someday.

The staff is excellent, they take really good care of the animals that are there.This is the second we adopted from them, this is a good place to get a rescue dog. I recommend them.

Above the law. Really clean and sober people who take great care of their thrift store. It's amazing how they even have time to maintain the kennels with only 4 employees they claim on their public tax forms. The one thing I can say is kinda nerve wracking is I heard a rumor that they did an illegal job for an animal control officer where they actually stole this guys three dogs. Turned them over to the cops who lied on paperwork about who turned them in and claimed they adopted out that actually killed. They were pretty stand up though when they reluctantly gave the other two dogs back for undisclosed reasons promised not to be mentioned here. Funny though after the little backdoor agreement took place that the guy found out new information as well as more hard concrete evidence and proof that the kennel actually stole the dogs in the first place. Being a man of his word he stuck to the original agreement but for sure in light of this new evidence will have to expose the truth about the origin and the true cause of the whole incident.

I worked here in the past. I know the owner Yvonne well. They claim they are "no kill", but once a dog shows any kind of kennel/fear aggression, which is EXTREMELY COMMON in this line of work, she doesnt give them the chance to settle in and adjust. Instead, she will call Gridley animal control and deam the dog "dangerous" to the AC officer, so Gridley animal control will in turn, put the "dangerous" dog down. This rescue may not *personally put dogs down, but they will call someone else to do it for them. They also charge up to $500+ to rescue a dog there! Its ALL ABOUT THE $, NOT THE ANIMALS (to the owner)! I would give ZERO stars if I could! If you happen to have a dog with some quirky issues, DONT surrender them here! As they will be deemed "dangerous" by the owner, and will be put to sleep!! Because an "aggressive" dog doesn't make her $$$$$$$$!! I am now a professional dog trainer/behaviorist and I tell my clients to stay away from Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue.Also, i must point out that the Hours are listed wrong on this site. They're open Tuesday-Saturday 12noon- 6pm.

What a great non-profit. The animals they rescue and find happy homes for are wonderful and many. I drop off my donations to their shelter in Gridley because I rarely get to Yuba City. The dogs are well cared for and their kennels are SPOTLESS. It seems every time I have stopped in they have just finished cleaning the kennels and the dogs are all very happy. They have a thrift store, so if you have ANY items to donate, there is no better place to drop them off. This is a "Rockin' Rescue".

Denied our "strong application" because we have young children that violates their "no toddler policy". Wouldn't listen to reason when I tried to tell them our kids are well behaved and my wife is a SAHM that would be able to watch over them when they interact with the dog. Denying an application for the sole reason of having children seems wrong.
