This place was packed and for good reason! They have chocolate covered everything, lots of sour and gummy candies, and too many other sweet non ice cream treats to list. The ice cream and gelato options were great. They also have ice cream sandwiches and different frozen bars. We got a sugar cone with coffee flavored ice cream. The cone was great and the coffee flavor was amazing. We also got a fresh waffle cone with vanilla and Oreo crumbles, a waffle cone with cake batter both were delicious. To go we got a quarter pound of mango sours and quarter pound of strawberry banana spurs, they were super sour and super fresh. We would have to go back 100 times to try everything on the menu we wanted.

Amazing treats for the holidays , truffle pumpkins , chocolate turkeys and so much more it’s a must see !!! The women there are so friendly and great customer service . The kids would love it , they have ice cream sour candies and so much more !

Fantastic experience! Everything you desire w sugar and no sugar sweets! Huckleberry ice cream and the Gelato amazing!! Apparently by the looks of the pictures the personalized drum sticks were a hit! We loved it!

In my son’s words, “Lazy Dog is iconic”! He’s right! Lazy Dog is a Grass Valley staple. Not only are they an anchor to our downtown but they’re present at so many community events away from the store. We love the homemade candies and ice creams! The staff is always cheerful and kind. Don’t miss it!

We had heard about the amazing chocolates from Lazy Dog Chocolateria in Grass Valley, so when we needed a gift we made sure to check them out. We arrived early one morning and found a line of people already waiting outside. Our anticipation was high as we entered and man that store smells good!The staff was friendly and helpful. After much deliberation (and tasting!) we settled on a large box containing an assortment of our favorite chocolates for our gift.Check out their chocolate covered ice cream cones. They are crazy good!

Awesome candy and ice cream store. It offers more than chocolate. You can also buy salt water taffy and licorice plus more delightful sweets.Parking: Street parking is very difficult, there's a customer parking lot a block away from the store. Bring comfortable walking shoes. This store is in a pedestrian zone.

This place will definitely bring nostalgia if you grew up going to a penny candy store.Staff was super nice and helpful.There is something for everyone. From a large sugar free selection to fully loaded sugar. Different sizes from kids to large and extra large if you get a "Big 'Ole Drumstick" as they call it.My youngest said the fudge was thick in her sundae so she knows it's real. My middle child said her double chocolate milkshake was a "Kid vs Food" challenge for her.Will definitely go back again.

Have enjoyed Lazy Dog ice cream and candy over so many years. First discovered them at the County fair years ago and have been long time fans. Today our family came to their Grass Valley main street store. Prices for a scoop of ice cream or Gelato are already elevated (inflation, of course) but the quantity of the scoops given, in both the bowls and the cones, were pathetically small. L.D. for the money, please be a little more generous with the size your scoops!

Delicious chocolate this is in Grass Valley, you choose the chocolate and they put in a bag an weigh it and you pay, you pay per weigh of the bag of chocolate. This is a clean place, nice decoration. Also you can buy a chocolate box.If you love chocolate, I recommend visit this store.

I've never seen a candy store so big! Their chocolate was amazing (you need to try their chocolate covered s'mores). They had some very unique flavors of taffy, specifically pickle flavored! It was ok, although it was worth it to say I've tried pickle flavored salt water taffy lol!

Had a sugar cone with a split scoop of pecan ice cream and honey lavander ice cream. Life can't taste any better than that. Parking can be difficult but we got lucky and found a spot right in front of the store (parallel parking). It a nice small old downtown area, you can get your ice cream and walk around window shopping.
