I love this store and the fact that it is still open after all these years. I used to come in to buy candy, as a kid. I am now turning forty years old.My boyfriend and I went in recently to buy solar eclipse glasses. We purchased them for $3.99 each. A fare price for ISO approved glasses.The staff if always friendly and the store is always clean.

Grass Valley Games sent me here when looking for a GIANT Jenga a couple months back when I had family in town. Are they the cheapest? That’s not their goal, but the price was comparable to the online giants when I checked afterwards, and my family would’ve been gone before the arrival. This game has given us so much joy! The staff at the store were incredible and they have a wonderful selection of everything! This store is a gem and you should definitely support them over Amazon, plus you’ll have it same-day and know the quality before you purchase!

The Mercantile is a downtown Grass Valley favorite for the young and old alike. Upstairs is a kid’s wonderland with toys, games, stuffies, and project kits. Downstairs is everything from a candy counter to yard art to dish towels to knick knacks and much more. A great place to find a gift for just about anyone!

overpriced, but a nice selection of toys. Again, so overpriced I usually don’t got there or buy much when I do. Added a pic of a wind up chick with a price tag of $7. These can be bought at the dollar store for reference.

My son and I love this place. We go here about once a week to play with the toys and find new ones to buy. The toys can be a bit expensive, but you are definitely buying quality when you buy from here

We are big fans of this place and never tire of going there. Tons of toys and games upstairs. Some toys thoughtfully on display to be played with..kids love it. Large selection of games puzzles & costumes..a whole section of stuffed animals and so much more. That's just the upstairs. Downstairs is more for adults with gifts and a cute display of Dept. 56 Villages.

Amazing care and customer service! I ordered a holiday snow globe that was out of stock at most stores. Not only did they ship it out immediately, when I opened my invoice there was a crisp new $10 bill. Written on the invoice was a hand written note: "we got a great discount on shipping so we are giving you the difference". I am across the country in GA so not sure how often I can do business with Foothill Mercantile but they will be my first go to - in this day and age this kind of honest and generous service wins my business.

visited in August of 2021. went specifically because of their Breyer Model Horse selection, and i was not disappointed! the entire store was organized very nicely, the staff was friendly and the cashier let me know about a Breyer Fun Day they were hosting (though it ended up getting canceled due to COVID). i don't live in the area, but will definitely stop by any time i'm in town! i'll definitely shop on their website as well.

I visited here yesterday (12/12/18) for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great toy store in the center of down town. The service was wonderful! The store was busy, but the staff was very kind. Free gift wrapping too! I definitely recommend!

Comprehensive toy store in cite downtown Grass Valley. They also sell hand made chocolate. What more could you (I mean your kid 😏😉) ask for!

Used to love this place with all my heart. Now I can't step foot inside.Last time I tried to shop there, I took three steps inside before being cornered by an older woman. I am disabled, with a service dog and a doctor's note and cannot wear a mask for multiple reasons. This woman came at me aggressively, backed me up to the door, and demanded I leave or put on a mask. When I tried to show my doctor's note, the woman told me to get out now, in those words. I asked if they accommodate the disabled, and her response was to laugh and, in her exact words: "No, we don't do that here. Get out." I have never been discriminated against and disrespected like that before and it was shocking. I wish I could report them to the ADA.

We had so much fun here . The staff was a hoot and helped us pick out just the right gifts to bring back beautifully gift wrapped to a few friends back at the camp sight . Try the birthday cake fudge ! Sooo good .
