Let me start by saying that I love supporting my local shops and small businesses. However, many times the prices in local stores are higher compared to some of the big online sites. This is NOT the case with Big Al's. Not only are their in-store prices competitive to or LESS than online retailers, but the level of customer service from Brandon and his crew is top notch. It is so refreshing to be able to ask questions to someone working in a pet store and get unbiased and informed answers. This is such an underrated experience nowadays!One Sunday evening I realized that my puppy had run out of his new food and panicked because I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to Big Al's before they closed in 10 minutes. I took a chance and called the store to confirm the closing time, and Brandon answered. He so graciously agreed to stay open past their closing time to allow me to come in and buy my pups food!Another time I mentioned a food I'd recently switched my pup to that we were using and really loved. Brandon was familiar with the product, and agreed that it was a great one, but he didn't carry this brand of dog kibble in store. Within a month they ordered the product - Farmina, and now carry it in their store!I'm so blown away by the customer service that I've received, the quality of products offered, and the outstanding prices. I will be a forever customer of BIG Al's!

Some of the best people ever work here, really. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, I trust them more than my vet.Specifically Maureen, who was so kind and generous with my little baby.The selection is huge, prices are great and my pup loves coming here so overall, this place is the best! Whole lotta chicken !!They just expanded their chicken feed and birdseed area. I love that they carry organic and non-organic food for my chickens.. Kelly's, Star Milling, Leach , and Scratch and Peck !!Bird seed .. sunflower seed and peanuts to feed the squirrels

Great store and friendly owner!We were going to a different pet store to find our favorite dog food. When we moved to Granada Hills we checked this one out. The owner told us that Fromm has a promotion that every 12 bags you buy you get one free. The old store never told us that! Also, in addition to that, there's a rewards program where you get 5% back. The prices aren't higher than the old store so we feel the owner is looking out for us.As far as dog foods go, you have hard to find stuff and familiar name brands from Petsmart and such but you won't see really cheap stuff from discount warehouses. Besides you don't want to feed that to your best friend anyway.Ps. We found out he carries chicken feed. Good to know since we want to get some chick's soon.Pps. He also has rat food. Our daughter has 3 of them so we will have to check out the selection. I'm sure it's good.

I was looking for a specific item, food grade diatomaceous earth. They had the item, but it was somewhat pricey. However, the employees were friendly and helpful. If you need a specialty item call ahead. If they have it, support them even if price is a bit costly. We need available pet items in our neighborhood.

The blond cashier was rude and ignored us when we had questions. It felt a little off the store. Not sure if she was racist but it did give those vibes. This store isn’t POC friendly. There is no diversity in their staff which is a huge red flag. Anyway I’ll continue to go to Cicis pet supply in Nordhoff.

Unlike petsmart and petco, where they sell low quality mass-produced dog food with added fillers.Big Al's Feed & Pet is the only place I buy my dog's food. It's the best place I have found that sells premium, high-quality food with no added fillers. Dehydrated and freeze-dried food with real meat and vegetables found on the labels.

I went here once on a Tuesday and I LOVED IT!! There's stuff for dogs cats and even birds. The place is clean and theirs a lot of pet food to choose from. The staff are very nice. It might be quiet expensive but it's very nice. My cat LOVES the cat food I got her from that store. I had gotten some treats for her to and she loves them! I haven't really had the chance to go again but I will go when I can.

I needed cuttlefish bone, called ahead, the gentleman on the phone confirmed they had whole cuttlefish bone and not the ground up cakes, I showed up, bought some, friendly check-out. Easy, no problems.

Great place to get all the best pet supplies! They were a little bit out of stock of a few things last I went, but no worries! Lots of food for chickens, cats and dogs alike. Moderate prices, too. They also have a lot of accessories here. Best pet store in Granada Hills. (Also probably the only now)

I stopped by here today and I am glad I did. They have high quality food for my kittens that you can’t find in commercial pet stores. I will definitely be shopping here from now on. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly as well.

They always have such great healthy products for my pets. And they go above and beyond with their customer sevice! So personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Also they guarantee their products and easily returned an item that wasn't a good fit for our family. So thankful for this shop!

The staff were helpful. Have been going to this location for years and haven't had a bad experience. They are always stocked with a variety of food for your cat or dog. It's always a pleasure to shop at a "mom and pop" kinda store.

I am new to the puppy life so I went in to get some supplies for my new little guy, and ask for recommendations. All I have to say is WOW! The young ladies there were SUPER helpful, energetic and happy to provide insight into dog life and make recommendations. I was so happy to have went here (local) as opposed to the big box stores for pets because I received such AMAZING treatment!! They gave me a couple freebies to try out on my new pup also. All in all I am a happy camper, and will definitely be going to Big Al's moving forward!!

I can't remember the workers names, I've been there 3 times but they always help me with my questions and make me feel comfortable. They always answer the phone if I have questions. The one thing I do dislike there is the hours. I wish they were open an hour later. The store is great though. Organized, clean, and awesome prices!The bottom reviews are bad. I actually knew the old owner. He was bad. He's a cop now. A bad one too lol, but the new owner and management are great!!!!

Previous to stopping in to buy dog food I had Popeye at a local vet. The bill was about 1800.00. My Popeye was still so uncomfortable when we left. My heart was breaking as I tried to make him as comfortable as I could at home. Needing food for my puppy I stopped in and happened to see the vet here. I asked a few questions and That's when he said to bring him by and I did. Best decision I have made.The vet here is awesome. I have senior pugs and as anyone knows seeing your dog age is a difficult process to go through. The vet was so attentive to my concerns and my little man Popeye was walking so much more comfortably thanks to the care of the vet. Good people are hard to come by. I'm so fortunate to have found this place.

I went to this horrible store for the first time and my last time. They offer a Mobile Vet that goes every few days of them month. Beware.... If you go for the vet he will give horrible service. I had a flier with me of all services and I took my dog for a skin check-up and the guy denied that he was able to assist me. Hello?? "Your name is in the flier" I told him. He is a liar and Red Barn fails to correct this? The guy made me loose an entire day just waiting- because then he tells me "Ok just wait" Unbelievable, So I got my puppy and I got the hell out of there. You people.... Go elsewhere for your dog's health needs- trust me you will understand me. Thanks for your respect and understanding potential-future- Red Barn- Granada Hills Customers.

We took our dogo to check out this place for the first time today and we fell in love! The owner is awesome and gave my puppy a free treat to keep him busy, hiw nice is that? They have great prices compared to petsmart and petco and they even gave a veterinarian that comes to the store a few times a week. Check them out! 👍🏻
