Today I went in and purchased my items at self checkout and walked out to my car. An employee was on the phone to pd and told them my license plate number and the color of my car. I was putting my purchase items in my car. My kids were in my car as well. As I went to put the cart away I asked another employee if there was a problem they had told me they thought I was stealing. Then got asked if I had my receipt I said I threw it out. I went and got it out of the garbage myself and gave it to them . They didn't check my bags. ( Big mistake on there part.) Anyway, so I basically said forget it and tried leaving. As I was leaving the cops showed up. I had my Daughters in the car they got scared. So I told the officer what was going on. He had went in the store. Then came back out. I had asked him if I can have the receipt I want to take my items back he said I could not have it back. I think I should have been told at the beginning what was going on. I will never go back to this store. Just so disrespectful to a person who was on the right. U should be a shamed of accusing someone of shoplifting that did not.

This Safeway has the friendliest and most helpful crew except for "that one guy". Anyone who's shopped here knows exactly who I'm referring to because he is "that one guy". They are always well stocked except for what ever snack/cookies/candy/chips I want at the time. At least That's what my dietitian tells me when she gets back from shopping .

I’ve came here three times because the hours online and on the phone when I called states they close at 2am, but I get here at 12 and they’re closed. I wasn’t the only one hoping for it to be open, there were more people there as well.Reading the reviews it seems as though this is an issue yet the customer service reply confirms that they still close at 2am. Why not just state they close at 12 and stop making people waste gas and time.

I was waiting in the bakery for 30 minutes. Just to pick up a quarter sheet cake I asked the deli Associate to call someone to help me in the bakery. The associate was inside the bakery he didn't even bother to come out.

Safeway the place we go to get. Walking in is almost like walking into your home. You know where are all the items you want or located. You usually know the checker that checks out your groceries. You know usually how much you're going to pay. great predictable shopping safe and and familiar.

This safeway is a decent size. They have lots of good local selection and my favorite watsonville sourdough from Sumano's Bakery. They also have a really good bulk selection.

2/8/24 4:15 PM. Drive and go service. . .The employee (a young girl) for Drive And Go was amazing. She may very well be your very best employee. I was certainly impressed. I didn't get her name unfortunately, perhaps you can look her up thru stores work schedule with the date and time I listed above. Professional friendly and knowledgable. Just letting you know. Good job Safeway.

As an operation, Safeway is kicking ash.I would like Safeway to take a stand against CANOLA, cottonseed oil and high-fructose corn syrup - I wish they would stop stocking products with these ingredients - a message to food manufacturers that these ingredients in particular are very unhealthy and do not belong in our food supply.Safeway is big enough to instigate changes by food manufacturers.

This is the cleanest and most friendly Safeway! And the Starbucks Baristas in the morning during the week days are the absolute BEST! They are friendly, helpful and courteous to my co-worker and I every day!

Alright, so I might be nitpicking. My 3 star rating is based solely on the fact that they have yet to update their hours of operation on maps. Figured I'd drop in for a few things a little after midnight, maps says they're open until 2am, and apparently they close at midnight now. Same thing happenedna few months ago and I chalked it up to staffing or a lag time in updating the hours. Can we just get accurate hours online?Other than that the place is typically clean, stocked, and I've never had a negative interaction with an employee. Just going home empty handed again 🤷

No matter what time of year, what time of day, or any holiday that may be coming up, we can count on this safeway to have absolutely nothing in stock. 100% of the time they have 15% of the shelves stocked...

I love the freshly made soups. I buy 4 different ones at a time and then I put them in individual containers and put them in the freezer for times when I don't feel like cooking or when I can't make up my mind what to eat 👍

Lines are very long. The staff that was doing cleanup, was friendly and willing to take me to where I was looking for.Other staff was nice but u could feel the tension. they were not willing 2 show me were the items were and didn't even know where all the items were . My experience with Wal-Mart was just ok.

Should be open 24 hours. I work nights and sometimes after I get off work instead of running to Aptos or Prunedale I'd like to get my groceries in town instead of running 20 mins outta my way

I am 73 years old and have shopped at Safeway stores ever since I began shopping. I have never had an issue with Safeway until today at the Watsonville Safeway in the Freedom Shopping Center. Some of the items in the liquor department are locked up due to being popularly stolen items. This is understandable except for the interminable wait for someone to come to open the cabinet. Typically my wife does the shopping but today I needed to go. I have not been through this process before so I was not prepared for what was to come after the cabinet was opened. Apparently this Safeway considers its customers to be common criminals. I was told by the clerk who finally came to open the cabinet that she had to take the item to a specific checkout station and I could pick it up after I finished shopping. Apparently I'm a petty thief who was going to try to sneak it out of the store separately from all the other items I had to check out. If I could I would rate this experience as a negative 5 stars. Needles to say I left my other items with this clerk and left. I will never shop at this store again.

It's so nice that the Safeway is open early early morning. I was able to get in and purchase my stuff and leave within 30 minutes. It was wonderful.

I usually stop at Starbucks on my way in, Chontell makes the best Carmel Frappe w extra caramel! The whole store is customer friendly. I usually find what I need......Safeways stock selections are great! Thank you

The worst Safeway store,I have ever shopped at. The other day I bought a big bunch of grapes and had to return them today due to them being all moldy. And when I went to replace them they were all bad. The whole produce department was all bad. And today I got 2 salads for dinner and had to wast over half of them due to bad lettuce. Last time I shop here. Just have to go to Food Max now.

This Safeway has fresh Breakfast and a Starbucks to get some fresh coffee, you'll find fresh vegetables and fruits, also healthy meals prepared daily people are nice, you can expect clean marble floors and clean Restrooms, this Safeway does not open 24 hours they close at 12AM and reopen at 5AM, they always have deals and you can expect to find everything you need to prepare a good meal. In the morning it gets full so parking is limited if you want to shop without too many people in the store go at night from 10PM to 12AM

Great store and they just about all the groceries you can think of. Their ethnic sections are so-so. Good meat and dairy departments, they most of the common cheeses and dairy products.

The good thing about Safeway is that you know you're getting pretty good prices on groceries and that they have everything and more of what you may desire. While they have great prices they adjust the cost in service. They always have long lines when checking out and so I shop at Nob Hill instead. The employees also are regularly changing and so you lose the personal and specialty touch with them. It also smells really bad in this particular store at times.I would make this my main grocery store if they improved on customer service and stationed more people at the cash register stands.

Considering the restrictions imposed by chi-comm19, store well stocked, good music on PA system, clean, easy to navigate. Not as many sales but again, chi-comm19's fault. Staff friendly, helpful and polite, even thru their masks, thank you communist china for that too. Actually went out of my way to go to this store, was worth the extra drive.

Lines WERE insane long . but they addressed the issue. So adding a star .for 5th star they will need to start stocking enough chicken PET FRESH dog food in the fridge and not the one with fillers but the chicken meat . I need to keep my dog on same food and its always out of stock. Please buy more and know its 3 bucks cheaper elsewhere and anticipate it will fly off shelves. then I'll give 5 stars

4 stars only because the check clerks can sometimes use a smile or greet the customers a lil better, otherwise the store itself is great, clean, and produce is good! Butcher's are great, friendly also! Deli is always stocked and sandwiches move pretty fast at the deli counter.
