Make the extra drive and go to Piersons. Unless you want to get pushed out 10 minutes prior to closing, deal with a stingy return policy, and have them treat your kids like criminals when they touch anything.

Was there shopping for Christmas decorations and a male employee was standing at the end of the isle leaning back and staring with a very unfriendly expression at me and my companion. He continued to stand there and near glare at us for several minutes before continuing his tasks. Not sure if he was profiling us but he offered zero assistance and did not even bother to greet us with how long he spent staring at us.

Shafer's is great for the odd thing or two you might need. Bought gutter hangers here when everywhere else was sold out. I like they have Benjamin Moore paint - that’s a real plus. I also buy 2 x 4s here because they are generally cleaner, even if they are a tad more in price. I use the reward app which gets me discounts. My pup loves it here because she always gets a treat! It’s a no fuss place where the staff are not bugging you as you look around, but are still there in case you have a question.

I wish I could give them no stars. I have been a customer at this particular ace forever, and today me and my son had a horrible experience. A Ace employee was following us the entire time we shopped. When we went to check out, he accused us of stealing a can of paint. We never even went to the paint section. He knows this though because he followed us the whole time, making us feel uncomfortable, then accused us of stealing, and then walked away. I believe that he was a racist! and intentionally followed us to make us feel deliberately uncomfortable I told him when he confronted us at the register pull up your cameras then he walks away what else could it be I never in my life have been treated so poorly at a store then I was at this Ace hardware today I will never shop there again and will tell everyone I know what happened and to not do business there and I tried to call and complain but this individual said he was the manager right now when I started to say what happened he said real as if oh yeah that was me and I said then you are not who I want to talk to you are who I'm complaining about I let him know exactly what I thought about the situation that i believe that he was racist he then says he is native American I replied, You don't look like it, and he hangs up on me. I called back repeatedly and left a message for a different person, but again, he follows us the entire time we shop, embarrasses us, and accuses us of stealing with no proof. I call it how I see it. I believe him to be racist, and he is trying to defend himself by saying he is a native American. I say you don't look like it, and he hangs up on me. For the love of Christ, who is training these people, he is acting. like he is the victim. No, that would be us, the ones you followed and accused of stealing without proof! I cannot stress enough to go to Piersons; they are way better anyway!

I super appreciate the staff at Schaefer's Ace Hardware in Eureka. I have all sorts of home repairs biting me at the ankles, and my knowledge base of approaching some of these things is fairly limited. Larry in Customer Care knows that place like the back of his hand! I appreciate the fact that I can go in there with some of the strangest challenges and leave with a solution. I highly recommend this store!

The best part about Ace is that you can get your fun little goodies here but, the part that makes getting your fun little goodies there fun is the staff is always helpful whether they're having a bad day or not they don't put that burden on you and will help to the best of their ability find you what you're looking for. When I ran into an awkward plumbing issue the gentleman there thought outside the box come up with a solution that pass inspection thank you guys 👍

I walked in this store with a Pogo stick that had a broken handle. Everyone was so helpful, but Sam in service really was awesome. He listened to what I wanted to do, and added to my ideas. I was so happy to get it all done in one stop. So excited to gift my grandson this Pogo stick. Thank you Sam!

We had a quick stop at this location and they were great. We have 3 big vehicles as part of our traveling ministry, and had to make a quick stop for repair materials for one of them. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes, and got everything we needed. All of the staff knew where everything was and were extremely helpful. This Ace location was great, fast, and had what we needed at a great price.

This has got to be one of the most unfriendly Ace stores I have ever been to. Without fail every time I step into this store I am treated as if I either don’t exist or as a serial shoplifter. I’m not a big gruff construction guy or an old lady so I guess everything in between that is cause for suspicion here. If you don’t mind being glared at while you look for something (don’t worry they won’t ask you if you need help finding something they’ll just assume your confusion means you’re trying to rip them off) and treated as if you should be bowing down to their holiness, then it’s a great place to shop. Otherwise, drive the extra 5 minutes and go to the one on Harris Street - the REAL place with the helpful hardware folks.

They had a pair of sloggers there and,boy did I need them.It has come to my attention that the manager of the Eureka branch offended both my daughter and grandson. This is absolutely not acceptable!!! Profiling someone based on their race!! Won't be back.

I went to get a key copied. The employee working at the counter looked up from what she was doing, saw me, said nothing, and went back whatever she was doing. I waited. A minute or so later, another employee came to the counter. He ignored me and began speaking to the other person. So I walked out. I’ve shopped there many times in the last 30 years or so but I’ll shop at an alternative from now on.

I was super intimidated to go into this store because I needed a bunch of stuff that I had no idea where it would be. The manager was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction. However the cashier Teresa was thee rudest customer service that's ever assisted me. I didn't know you had to put the screws in a bag and label them (Ive never shopped for these before) she said well there's a sign can you read.. I just couldn't believe that was her response! There was no assistance from her at all. After calling the manager he just dismissed my complaint and said don't be intimidated. She seemed very unhappy to be working there and her annoyance of customers like me really showed. I'll be sure to go to piersons from now on!

You can build an entire house going here. The last house I built they beat Schmidtbauer by thousands of dollars.Plan your project with Jeremiah and you will get better materials on time for less. The deliveries are on time and all of the staff are super accommodating especially Mark.This is what Pierson used to be only better. I have been building in Humboldt for 40 years and this is next level

Great selection of products most products have the generic Ace brand along with the brand name option Plus some locally produced products as well. This store is locally owned with multiple locations throughout the county including two locations in Eureka

This hardware store has everything you need from paint, veggies starts, seeds, flowers, trees, kitchen supplies, and anything for repairs and upkeep of your home. We bought our fireplace there too.

It's a very clean hardware store with a variety of tools, gadgets, bbq, and gardening supplies. We specifically went because we needed an extended hose for the shopvac. They had a good variety of supplies and a 7ft hose was $30.

Went to Shafers Ace Hardware looking for sink stoppers. Bought one even though I knew it was not the right thing. Now I get to drive back to Eureka to return it. Prices are like most stores waaaaay toooo high.
