Dr. Hagen Sr. & Jr. have both treated our dogs for some serious conditions. Not only was the diagnosis correct right away, the treatment was effective and successful. We love the staff & care our dogs get here. Only downside is it can be difficult to get an urgent care appointment. We usually call here first, but end up going to a different clinic for emergencies.

Dr Hagen and jr both so so friendly and kind my dog had cancer got him in right away how ever a week later his incision completely opened I called in tears. They couldn’t get him in as a single mother I couldn’t leave work I had wrapped it while I was at work but it required medical closing. And was informed our Dr was old and doesn’t stay passed 2pm you can use crazy glue…..

Gave me the wrong size e- collar and refused to take it back. By the time I got it on him when we got home and realized it wouldn't stay on I called but they were closed. Had to go buy another one from the pet store the same night so he had something to wear. Called first thing in the morning to let them know and they wouldn't take it back. Disappointing. I understand if if it was dirty or worn or messed up but it's still in perfect condition.

A very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The doctor was great with my little guy and very informative. I was getting so tired of the big corporate veterinary clinics, so nice to see a small family vet.

Been taking my puppy for 2 years and they have been the best vet I’ve even been too. Although my dog hates the vet, the people there make me feel comfortable and are so nice. I’ve been in situations where I needed to take my dogs to the vet urgently and they won’t see my dogs for weeks out even being a regular client but at small animal clinic on two separate occasions they were able to get me in quickly! My dog needed stitches this morning after a incident, called at 11 am and they were able to see her stitch her up and send her home by 2pm same day!

I have been going here for a year and 1/2 now. Great pet Doctors. I met the son today for the 1st time. (His Dad is the other Vet Doc) both showed much kindness when treating my chi-pom. Poor girl had a double ear infection and a little stye which came from the infection. She gets very scared at most vets but does well with both Doc's here. Thankyou both for your gentle hands and souls. ♡Update:April 22/24I unfortunately have to update my review as I called today for a urgent appointment for my small dog.They didn't have anything open for 1 1/2Days later and ended up taking her somewhere else which ended in emergency surgery for a abscess.I like this place but are not the same as they used to be...it takes 10/20 minutes for them to answer your call as you are 1 of many "in the quay."Maybe hiring one person to answer the phones and show warmth in your voice.?You might lose business because of one reason...wait time. :(

The staff is super friendly and helpful, and despite how busy they are they were able to work with my schedule. Doc was great with my cat and gave her a shot effortlessly (she was a stray so it could've gone south) and had a lot of great advice and knowledge. Prices were better than a lot of the places out of town, so I was happy to pay a reasonable price and be able to stay in my hometown and see local vet.

I came a while ago but I'm still upset about it. The staff is friendly but be sure you are on the same page with the front desk. I was charged $300 for a blood test when I thought I was being quoted on a spay for my dog. They literally just took a blood sample maybe 5-10mins with the vet if that, and that was that. Then get a call that they won't spay my dog. A little ridiculous on the pricing. Had it been clear that is all they were doing I would of never set up an appointment or came to this location

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this clinic is. I have taken all my animals here for years and my mom took our pets there when I was a child. Andy and Frank are both so caring and the staff is incredible. You can truly feel the love they have for their patients and families. They truly go above and beyond and have worked with me when my dog had cancer and the financial situation was an issue. My 13 year old dog was recently diagnosed with cancer and they have shown the same kindness and compassion that they had with my last pup. I will forever be grateful for the team at this clinic and will always take my fur family to this clinic. Thank you for your caring hearts. ❤

I love escalon small animal clinic! They have always been helpful and kind. This is a busy place with lots going on everyday. But still they have done the very best they can do. And the girls in the grooming department do a great job. My dogs are always happy to see them.

Escalon Small Animal Clinic is the best!! The Dr's, Frank and Andy Hagan are TERRIFIC!!! You can tell that everyone in there cares about you and your pet. They take their time, and listen to your concerns and/or questions. You NEVER leave there feeling like you didn't get the best care possible for your pet. I would give them more stars if I could. If I HAD to say one bad thing about them, it would be that sometimes it's hard to get an appointment right away because they are soooo busy. But when you're that good, you have to expect it!! Love you guys 💕💕💕

The reason for my visit was that of a sad one. I had to put my best pug of 13 yrs down. The staff was so supportive and understanding.He was scared but the staff was so good with him. They informed me of everything that was going to happen and when it came time, they were so patient with me.(I was a mess.)And after everything was over,they gave me all the time I needed with him to say goodbye...this was his vet since he was a baby. The staff has always been loving,patient and kind with all the animals that go through their doors.You couldn't ask for better caretakers of your most loved animals...They provided paw prints of my puggy and a few weeks after,I received a card from them expressing their condolences...a correspondence that was very welcomed. A special thank you to Diane and Stephanie who went above and beyond to make this process a little easier.

They didn't count weekends as forty eight hours and they charged me half Of the neutering fee. I was, actually Closer to sixty hours for Trying to reschedule the appointment....money grabbers

My family has gone to this office since 2001. Always great prices! This last time, I took my dog in the get her booty glands expressed, and it was only $20, and didn't require a visit with the doctor; the vet tech just took her in, and in less than 3 minutes, my dog was done. She hasn't seemed bothered by her booty since. Thanks ESAC! (Also, they got me in the same day I called)

After having to wait over a week to see the doctor, rescheduling my appointment, and falsely telling me my visit would be free to have me come back in to pay for the visit was a horrible customer experience, and would never come back here again. I would not recommend coming here for your pet. Below is my experience with them.My visit was due to my dog having an ear infection and for my visit, the doctor gave him medication and cleaned out his ears. He mentioned my dog should no longer have an issue within the next 10 days and if he did, I could come back for a visit free of charge. 10 days have past and his ears did not fully heal. When trying to make an appointment the office said the next appointment isn’t until another week. We decided to wait another week because the visit would be free of charge, but a day before my appointment date they called to let me know that my appointment was rescheduled to the following day. After waiting 8 days we finally were able to see the doctor. During our appointment, he mentioned that the visit would be free of charge so they gave him more medication and cleaned out his ears again. After our appointment, they handed me a bill which I questioned because the doctor mentioned the visit would be free of charge. They said they could not do that because the owner would not allow it and if I came in within a week they might have been able to make my visit free.The doctor instructed us to wait 10 days to see if ears had fully recovered and they did not. When trying to reschedule as soon as possible the office mentioned the next appointment isn't until another week so there was no way I was able to come in within a week. If I knew they weren't going to treat his second visit for free like they said they would then I would have looked for another vet office to take my dog instead.

I wish I could give ESAC 10 stars. They are phenomenal. The staff truly cares about all of our animals - and Dr. Andy is patient, thorough, and always willing to answer our questions or concerns. My family has been bringing our animals here since the early 1980s, and have always had great experiences. Recently we had some ongoing issues with one of our cats and Andy continues to follow up on his well-being even when we bring our other pets in for routine visits. The icing on the cake are their reasonable costs and family feel. We happily make the 30 minute drive passing several other vets to get to ESAC whenever our pets are in need.

We board our medium sized dog here. The staff takes excellent care of her. They have an excellent grooming salon and veteranary services adjacent. Our dog rarely likes going anywhere without us, but when we arrive here, she's excited to see her friends!
