(posted this on yelp too bc idc)the woman with the tattoos is nice but this place is GRIMY.I've gotten my rats/mice here 3 times and i'm not going be coming back. the state of this place is actually FOUL. they keep their leopard geckos in sand which is a known fact not to do. (can cause infections, impaction, etc.) They have beta fish in TALL STARBUCKS CUPS in the sun on the front counter. these people have zero idea how to take care of animals. would come back for snake food if they figured out how to properly take care of reptiles/fish and maybe cleaned. :)

Just stopped by to get some crickets for our Crested Gecko. They have the coolest fish, super cool set up, and best of all the workers were pretty awesome. Super friendly, good vibes!

We have been coming to this store off and on for years. My ex used to by his feeders for the snakes and lizards from this store. The store is not very large but they have a beautiful selection of fish and reptiles. Unlike the big pet stores you never have to worry about purchasing a sick animal from them. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

For my family this is our favorite fish store. We have bought a lot of fish from them. I have purchased at least 60 fish from them. The employees know my family and treat them better than anyone could ever ask for. The owner, Chris,even took time to give us solid advice on how to raise our tortoise. Their policy on fish is awesome, so you do not feel robbed if things do not go well.

Fantastic place. The owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They aren't afraid to teach you how to best care for the fish you have and the ones you are buying. I have shopped there multiple times and have healthy great looking fish to show for it.

this is the best pet store in all san diego, chris the owner is a very nice guy, he takes his time talking to his customers and answers all thier questions, when i got into the fish hobby, chris and his staff helped me a lot, like a lot, now i dont go to any pet store but them, even if i find the items i need cheaper elsewhere i always buy from chris, support local stores and forget about the large stores.

My betta recently died and after some research, the 3.5 gallon tank with plastic plants probably wasn't the best environment. I dove into the hobby of aquatic plants and I'm having a great time. After a month of letting my new aquatic plants get settled in, I wanted some sort of living creature to enjoy the scape. I decided on a mystery snail. I walked into this store and just asked for one without picking any one in particular. I was highly impressed by the condition of all of the tanks. I am also very happy with my snail purchase. I will go here if I decide I might want to add some shrimp. Great place.

I get all my bearded dragon food there. They are very nice and always helpful. The only down fall is that if you buy something with a debt card and end up not needing it they cant transfer the money back to you account they end up putting it for store credit. It works if you are going to buy something else but if you don't its a bit of a inconvenience. Other then that I like this store a lot they are wonderful people and are very knowledgeable.

The clerk's service is too enthusiastic, we have expressed our intentions, but she still keeps selling, which annoys my child, the transaction should have been completed in a few minutes, but it took us 30 minutes, and we will not patronize this place in the future store

I've been shopping at Vets Pets for a few decades. The shop owners are helpful, and they know their stuff, about both aquarium flora and fauna and reptiles.If you want a healthy, happy reptile, consider them for your next purchase!

The employees are really knowledgeable, and the owner is really nice. They don't do refunds if you purchase the wrong item but they will give you store credit. They also carry freeze dried river shrimp (not sure if that spelling is correct) that's cheaper than most other pet supply places, and they have a nice selection of both saltwater and fresh water fish. 👌

I have been a customer here for over four years, when they were across the street. I began breeding Rosie boas and Chris has been selling them. he is knowledgeable about fish: salt water and fresh, as well as reptiles. I trust him and know that my reptiles are in good hands. This is probably me and my boyfriend’s new go-to aquarium shop. I love the variety of fish that they offer and they are priced decently. I got a few platies, snails, and shrimps and they all are flourishing in my tank. The people who work here are very friendly and informative!

The only locally owned Fish Store left in East County. Good selection, healthy fish, and a knowledgeable manager that has been in the industry since the early 1980s. So glad I found this place!

Really good place to get fish or some reptiles. Big selection and the fish seem much more healthier than getting fish from say petsmart. The guy working was very helpful. Next time I need to buy more fish or supplies, definitely going back here

What a great place to shop for reptiles or supplies! They also have some interesting salt water fishes! Love the great helpful employee.....she definitely took the time to show us and explain everything to us! Love this newfound store!!!
