Absolute best groomers in town! Granted, only other place I have been is pet smart when they gave my dog a terrible cut. Found Coature 8 years ago and it’s the only place I take my dog. Friendly workers, fair prices and my dog always looks and smells amazing!

We've been to at least 5 other groomers in Chico and Paradise, and we feel Coature is the best. The owner is always very patient and responsive to requests/ concerns and takes time to listen to what you want done. They take about 1.5 which I appreciate because I don't like leaving my dog at a place for 3 hours. A little pricey, but worth it to know your dog is in good hands. They always do a great job.

I have taken my girls (two golden retrievers) here several times... I have loved how they have been groomed. However, the prices have gone up. When I originally took them 5 years ago, it was $80 for both. Then it went up to $100 for both... then $120... then $140, this last time it was $155. That's just too much... then the machine asks for a tip.... agh... I may be looking somewhere else... sad because the staff is so friendly. Just not money friendly.

My regular groomer's schedule has been affected by the pandemic and my dog really needed his nails trimmed. I called about 7 places and most didn't even return my call. Coature Pet Spa returned my call very quickly, said to come by that day and they'd work me in. Wow! They did an awesome job. When I arrived, they took a short break from what they were doing to trim my dog's nails. They worked quick and did a fantastic job. My dog has black nails and they trimmed them perfectly! I think I found a new groomer!

Refused to even try to help us with our dog. Our dog is a livestock guardian dog with an undercoat - something that any precessional dog person would know - and that brushing is the way to deal with their large amounts of hair. All the guy wanted to do was shave her, and said he wouldn’t be willing to do anything else. Then when I called for an explanation, I asked if he was a dog groomer, and he hung up on me.

Love the professional way I'm treated. My dogs always come out beautifully groomed and smell delicious! I take both my dogs in and get quick appt times, both done in 2 hours or less! I highly recommend this groomer, love the results!

Great groomer and pet spa. Well managed which is evident in the consistency of the quality of work, staff friendliness, and low turnover. They always do an excellent job on my dog, and never seem annoyed, tired, or having a bad day. The groomers genuinely care about the animals and are true professionals in their work, attitude, and demeanor. I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else...and now I've moved to Alameda, so driving 3 hours to get her groomed speaks for itself!

Always a great job. My dogs are excited when we get there. Which means they are nice to them. Usually when I call for appt they get me in the next day. And, they are quick. My dogs aren't there for hours and hours locked in a crate waiting their turn. Absolutely the best groomers in town. Would give more stars if I could!

Went here for a full year in chico after getting my dogs. The team is very polite in person, does well with the dogs, and works hard to remember any previous haircut specifications you gave them so you can get a consistent haircut.

They got my dog in same day which was nice, he looks great and they really did their best to understand how I wanted his cut. Successful last minute groomers visit! Great customer service. Just a little pricey though. $55 for wash, nails, ears, glands, and cut for a 15lb maltese mix.

I have a working line German Shepherd that is reactive to having his nails cut.These guys came out made short work of it.All calm on their side, dog was better than usual.Definitely will be back.Loved the energy.

I took my cat(Dude) to Coature for a bath and was very pleased with the result. Dude had never had a bath before but they handled it perfectly. He went in with a couple mats, covered in dirt and danruff. When he came out he was so soft, fluffy, and super clean. I didn't even ask them to cut out the mats but they did with no extra charge. Thank you Coature! I'm very happy with the service Dude received!

To be transparent, my dog wasn't groomed here. I called to make an appointment and was placed on hold. By hold I mean the phone was set down. In the background I heard an employee say "I love dogs, but sometimes there is some that I would like to give a swift kick to". I then heard the employee who set the phone down answer more calls while leaving me on "hold".

ADDENDUM (3/2020): I've been meaning to get this done... when I started bringing my dog I really loved this place... but since my last visit I stopped coming here. I brought my dog in "knowing" she was in good hands... I knew how long it was going to take & what was expected, so I planned to do other things while I was waiting on her. Within 37 minutes I get a call from them..thinking there was a problem.... no problem she was ready to go.... when I got there I was completely shocked at what she looked like (no exaggeration)... we spoke about what I wanted before I left (after being their client for 3.5 years they knew what I wanted).... what I saw was far from what we discussed....all I wanted to do was leave so I asked to speak to my groomer when I was told she wasn't there someone else groomed her (not even the owner was there) ... I was totally ticked off, angry that they didn't even care that the client "Me" would be ok with the botched up job they did...I paid (I shouldn't have paid a cent) .. I couldn't get out of there fast enough ... I also stated I would not return nor give any more referrals. I ran into another of their clients who also stated the botched up job they did on her dog.... I am not trying to put this shop down but I know I will not recommend them due to what my experience was.(3 yrs ago): Since I moved up to this area Coature has been my #1 place. Everyone is very professional and super nice. They really treat your pet kindly. They are professional, take time to listen to your needs, and their rates are great. I bring my Lil girl Puccini (Pucci) a mess and she leaves exactly how I want. Hours are great recommend making appointment since they are super busy. We love them. The shop is clean and pretty easy to find. I recommend them highly...

The staff here are awesome! I called @ 9:30am (an hour & a 1/2 before they would've been open according to this page). They answered the phone and I got the same response as the previous reviewer, "come in at 10:30am". The price was a little higher than I"m used to paying ($45), but my dog needed groomed so I went for it. This groomer goes above and beyond and has earned my future business for sure! My little dog was very well taken care of and when I returned seemed VERY happy. I peeked thru the window to see her attitude. I have a Pomeranian/Maltese mix and she is beautiful again! I was so happy I tipped $10. they deserved more.

Every groomer i called in Chico is booked for a month or more. I just happened to come across this place and they got me in the next day. I have a little 4 pound Pomeranian and he got the best haircut ever here. He gets compliments everywhere he goes, I Highly recommend this place.

Got my dog a haircut today. He had a bad experience at another salon and has become extremely difficult to groom. The staff not only got him groomed but they did a great job and it was faster than anywhere else. I’m so impressed.

I have an old, stubborn but very sweet cat who needed his claws trimmed. The crew of Coature Pet Spa were fast and efficient. They even moved some of the bigger dogs to a different area so my cat wouldn't be scared. I greatly appreciate all that they did and would recommend them to anyone.
