I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Friendly staff and wonderful service! The food is exceptional, and this is our favorite place now!Dietary restrictions: They are wonderful about dietary restrictions and are always happy to make special changes to their menu items.Kid-friendliness: Always very accommodating for families, there is also extra seating outside for larger parties, which is lovely on nice days.

The taste is average, the service attitude is not good, three people gave two glasses of water, we were still chatting, the waiter kept coming to take our dishes away, and before we wanted to leave, the waiter handed us the check! Very bad feeling, will never go again!

We eat here often, it's my favorite restaurant in Calistoga. Everything is fresh, an extensive menu, there is something for everybody. Can't recommend it highly enough.The wait staff and owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The local sushi place on the north end of town directly across from the Indian springs resort.Lots of choices - menu more than just sushi.Very attentive staff.I'm not educated on Japanese food, or sushi for that matter, but it all seemed fresh and attractively presented.

The plating was lovely, the food was okay. Inside the restaurant however is a faint tinge of urine. My friend and I chose to ignore it because we were extremely hungry, the service was very slow but I don't know maybe there were take out orders and we just weren't seeing anyone come get them. My soup spoon had lipstick on it so I set it aside on the table and tried to drink the bowl without a spoon but even the bowl had a strange after taste. The waitress didn't seem to care that I put the spoon off to the side with the bright red lipstick facing up and was usually gone before I could mention it, rarely ever to return again. I'm pretty sure if I did say anything I would have just received the same spoon with it wiped off. I don't know if I went when the B team was scheduled but the rice was very chewy for me and the flavors somewhat lacked so I wasn't entirely impressed. Over-all it isn't a bad spot but if you're a seasoned sushi consumer.. maybe go somewhere else

I come here actually once a week and I’m finally writing a review.I definitely find it worth the money and mussels mania is my favorite appetizer!I suggest trying the Philadelphia roll at least once! It is very good and even someone who doesn’t like sushi agreed they enjoy it as well! :) Philly roll and Oreo mountain shown in pictures.

Sushi Mambo disappoints on multiple fronts. The excruciating wait times are nothing short of infuriating, turning what should be a pleasant dining experience into a test of patience. I had to wait 1 hour for uncooked noodles! The uncooked noodles served are a culinary misstep, a blatant disregard for basic cooking standards. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is its abysmal service. The staff's incompetence and lack of attentiveness transform what could be a redeemable meal into an exercise in frustration. Sushi Mambo needs a serious overhaul to salvage any semblance of a positive dining reputation.

5 star restuarant located in Calistoga, CA. Sushi Mambo is beyond amazing and the soup that is not on the menu is worth requesting. Recommend going in the middle of the week around 2 PM to avoid crowds. Your palette will be scintillated with dazzling tastes and the food is always fresh. Try the Bento Box if you are unsure what to order.

Try the miso soup, I thought they were all the same till I had it here. All other rolls were excellent, but heads up the lobster roll, forgot the cute name, but it does not have chunks of lobster more of a paste, was still very good, but different from what we had imagined.

We liked it very much. freshest sashimi, big pieces and varied. The service is just great. Guests are treated with respect, listen to their wishes and satisfy any request. Thank you, we will definitely come back. Calistoga is worth visiting for this restaurant.

I hate to write a bad review but I hope this will help people make informed decisions to dine here or not. In short, if you like authentic Japanese cooking then this place won’t do.The food was most certainly not authentic Japanese cuisine and it’s easy to tell that it wasn’t cooked in the way it’s supposed to (in Japanese cuisine). I had curry rice to go and picture shows the curry soup I got (curry is supposed to be gravy-like texture and flavor but what I got was a diluted bland soup.)Other than that, the place looked nice and the server was great.

I popped in for a late, light meal and the experience was excellent. Sophisticated and friendly, the sushi was tasty, nice selection of wine for a small venue and the background music was excellent. The waitress and chef were prompt and professional making sure I was happy in a warm and understated manner. I’ll definitely be back!

Amex referred me here originally, and I must say that Sushi Mambo has one of the most creative sushi menu's I've come across. The fish is fresh and the prices are quite reasonable! Highly recommended for those looking for more than a California roll with X and Y on top of it.

I was so excited to go to Sushi Mambo and have a lovely meal in charming Calistoga, but it wasn't meant to be.This was the worst service I have ever received at any restaurant I've ever been to. When you walk in, the waitresses ignore you for 5-10 minutes and then finally tell you where you can sit, in a sullen way. As you order, they are extremely rude and give you sassiness and attitude. The food took forever to come out (about an hour) and the waitresses did nothing to communicate or apologize. All of the tables around me were complaining about the wait for their food and were met with rude responses.They also messed up our order and a few tables around us without even an apology.The food was OK but wasn't worth the extremely long wait or rude staff.My suggestion to the business owner....fire your wait staff and start over. Teach them that customer service is one of the most important things in a business or learn this yourself and embrace it. Otherwise, you should just throw in the towel. I've dined all over the world at the finest restaurants and this was hands down the worst experience I have ever had. Shameful.
