I am a local and rely on Calmart for most of my lunch foods. Since they added the individual items from the hot food section the food has been by far disappointing. I’ve had corn dogs so dry and the breading gross to eat. I’ve had issues with new items like their popcorn chicken and popcorn shrimps being so dry. I only wish it could go back to the way it was and I know COVID has made it so hard for that, however it’s hard for me to go and buy items that have been made early in the morning and sitting there getting dry or soggy only to throw it away because it’s not satisfying to eat.I would say anything else like their sandwiches are ideal to eat. And I’m sorry too because I don’t like to complain but it’s happened to many times already.

It may sound odd to praise a supermarket for this, but when you get take-out and ask for flatware, their forks (at least) are made of bamboo. Sturdy. I assume compostable. Admirable

After my purchase I forgot to ask for cigarettes and asked the blond cashier with a mask on if she could ring me up for a pack. She said I would have to go to the back of the line to make another purchse... pretty ridiculous. Thought this would be a neighborly market, but I guess I'll take my business back to Walmart trips. Ty for being lame.

A small grocery store that punches way above it's weight class when it comes to quality and selection. A great place to shop for a wine country picnic or a snack for the road. A full selection of fresh produce and prepared foods is available and the staff is friendly.

Cal mart is the true small store service. A great deli has food you would not think is available in a small store, Chef prepared. Specialty Fish and meat counter. Dailey prepared lunches, burritos, salads, sandwiches, Soups & deserts or fresh cut fruit. Specialty baked goods and breads fresh from local bakery. Don't miss the extensive wine selection and cheese bar.

Our local grocery store.hometown feel, prices could be lower, but we are paying for convenience, and we DO appreciate the occasional mark downs on some of our favorites... great selection.The deli counter is great Moderately priced sandwiches and cooked 'heat and serve' items.The staff is always fun and engaged.I'm there easily 4 times a week.

Cal Mart is a charming little grocery store in Calistoga, CA. When you walk in this store, you'll get the feel that everyone there is a friend or a neighbor. Maybe that's because everyone knows one another, or maybe they just have excellent customer service. I'd bet on a little of both. You can find plenty of specialty items as well as every day essentials. Groceries are a bit expensive, but i'm assuming that's just a Calistoga thing. Cal Mart has a bakery, a meat counter, and a Cafe. I have tried a caramel macchiato from the Cafe on two separate occasions. The first time, it was probably the best coffee I've ever had. I thought about it for weeks and as soon as I had the chance to come back to Calistoga, I went back and got another! The second time it was pretty awful and tasted burnt, so I think it truly depends on who is making your coffee that day. I would still try coffee from here again, and I'm sure they would have made me a new one if I said something about it. One of the reasons I love this place is because they have a vast amount of gluten free items. I have celiac disease so im limited to what I am allowed to eat. Cal Mart has so many options, so I don't get left out when the rest of the family wants treats or bread items. There are many locally made items to choose from as well, which I think is amazing. If you're in the area, pop in and check it out. You will find something you want to try- just make sure you budget to splurge a bit!

The only grocery store in town. So I don't feel like they try very hard for those that live here. I think they should step it up. More like Whole Foods or Oliver's. Since the prices there are so high I'd expect some more choices. Better deli. And more produce.

7/2/23 We got to the store 3 mins before it closed and wanted to quickly grab one item. The store employee locked the door when she saw us coming. We told her the store isn’t officially closed and we have a few minutes. She ignored us and then yelled over and over we’re closed. I showed her my cell so she could she the time and she shook her head and laughed with another cashier and walked away. Worst customer service ever!!! I’ll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Great mix of standard and not so standard offerings. Everyone who travels between counties should know about this little supermarket. From produce and donuts to gourmet cheeses and homeopathic eye drops, Calmart is a longstanding resource in the community and all around.

I mistakenly was charged 35.00 for a watermelon. 1 of1 4 sku digit transposed. I went back and the gal apologized and refunded cash on a credit card charge. Then I went in and forgot my wallet and had to put some items back since my cash didnt quite make it..the checker looked at me like I was so dumb. These checkers need better training!

Super friendly staff and very welcoming to visitors. They make great sandwiches to go if you're planning on bringing a picnic to one of the wineries. Nice selection of dessert, too! They also have all the groceries you need. We loved the town and the people there. Can't wait to go back!

Well, you have no other choice if you are in town and want to visit a supermarket. You know it, and Cal Market knows it. But still, the market is reasonable; you can get a good bottle of wine; and nice sandwich; a good choices of BBQ items; and chips; enjoy your stay; and enjoy hot springs in calistoga. Only suggestion, the market could have more fresh vegetable and local fruits, since it is located among the most fruitful land of west coast.

Great little market with great selection and clean facility. Be prepared to pay a bit more than prices at chain grocery stores. That should be expected, this is Wine country.
