I witnessed a man abuse his dog after he left Azusa Animal Hospital located at 457 E Arrow HWY in Azusa. The small brown dog was a wearing a recovery cone collar and could not get into the vehicle without assistance. The man became frustrated and picked the dog up by its leash, leaving the dog dangling in the air, crying and yelling horrendously for a good 4-5 seconds. The dog was choking, crying and flopping everywhere in mid air. He then proceeded to throw the dog forcefully into his hatch-back followed by screaming and profanity.I Immediately went into the animal hospital and asked if they saw what happened, explained what I saw, and asked if they could contact someone to file a complaint. When I arrived home, I contacted LA County Department of Animal Care & Control to see if they can assist but they needed the mans information and home address . So I then contacted Azusa Animal Hospital again with the Animal Care & Control number, so they could call and give them the man’s information in order for a wellness check to be done on the pet. They informed me that the man has been going through a lot and that “I don’t don’t know what people go through”. I explained that regardless of someone’s emotional or physical pain animal abuse is NEVER ok and there is No excuse! She disagreed and asked if I was even a client? I said no and she said she would “make a note in his file”.. No compassion from the receptionist at all. How can someone be ok with this. I was heart broken and I do not trust this place.If they don’t care about animal abuse would you trust them with your pet?

Horrible experience! Have been coming to this clinic for 20 years and today I took my dog to get her yearly vaccinations. Dr Choi got agitated when I started to question him in regards to his recommendation for X-rays and blood work because my dog gets scared with fireworks . Because rude and didn’t want to speak to me. Vets charge a lot and I feel that we are have every right to ask questions

Ive been going here for years and kim has shown no love what so ever, 50$ fee every check up and reccommended all kinds of stuff that made my dog and cats skin ruined. $$$$$$$ wasted and no respect... will never come here again.

Takes all the necessary precautions during this pandemic. So far no complaints on that.Did great work for me and my dog so I would definitely recommend!All workers wear a mask and a face shield and also gloves. All customers are required to wait in their cars while an employee will come to handle your business. Very good precautions for a time like this

My 6mo old puppy had parvo. Dr. Kim took his time to explain everything to expect throughly. I've been to other vets who up sell but Dr. Kim offers alternative treatment when possible less expensive and let you decide how to proceed.. 4 stars because staff takes a long time between treatment and payment.

Dr Kim is good but pretty busy. He definitely has a good overall knowledge of dog and cat issues. Not sure what other animals he works with. Prices have gone up over the years.

Dr. Kim takes care of every animal in the facility and they have a handful of helpful and friendly staffs. They are very professional and clean. It's important they treat your animal with lots of care.Compare to other vet clinics, this place is reasonable in price and they do a good job, following up with the status of your pet.

Very poor customer service. They hide behind the glass and come out to greet you when ever they feel like it. They never hold true to thier appointments and always run late. So bad you never even meet the vet. They take your pet and go inside with it and bring them out when they are done.. Who knows what really goes on in there.They should change thier name from a pet hospital to a clinic because hospital they ain't. I seen them turn soo many people away for emergency services and send them far out places. I just feel that certain bussiness have lost thier touch with customer service and blame it all on Covid. It has made lazy employees even lazier.

dr Kim cares about his patients and their budgets. he's reasonable and does not try and upsell you with added junk. he's not rushed and takes his time and has never kept us waiting for hours when we enter an available room. I'll continue bringing my pet to this location if I move within a 50 mile radius.

I have been a client of Azusa Animal Hospital almost all my life.. but I recently changed my vet to Duarte Animal hospital.. DR.Kim is a good doctor BUT I’ve noticed that He NEVER stays in the room longer then 5 minutes. He lacks CLIENT-PATIENT-DVM RELATIONSHIP .. if I’m going to pay $45 an Exam I want more then 5 minutes of his time and information. Before he leaves the room he always says “just one second” then the assistants come in with the estimate. Never getting a chance to talk to the DR. Again. . My pets new DMV is just as busy but still takes the time to be very clear about whats going on and takes more then 5 minutes getting to know me and my pet.. and not leaving the room until all information is understood. And the exams are cheaper.

I had a teacup maltipoo puppy. I had taken him in to get his first set of vaccines. My puppy was around 11 weeks. He only weighed 3.4 pounds on the day he received his first and only set of vaccines (he died shortly after). I remember I had called the vet to schedule an appointment and had told them that my puppy is very tiny and if the vet had experience vaccinating small dogs. The person who answered (she was a female) had told me that when dogs are small sometimes one vaccine will be administered at one time. I also know that you do not dose a 50 pound dog the same way you would dose a 4 pound dog. When I had arrived to the appointment the vet had checked my puppy by doing a physical examination and said the puppy is healthy, and then he gave him 2 vaccines and a dewormer. My puppy ended up dying 2 days after. I believe and know it is from the vaccines. Shortly after the vaccines, he stopped eating, had diarrhea and then when he was taken to pet ER, where unfortunately he had cardiac arrest and died. He died before any tests could confirm anything but he had fluid in his stomach. My dog experienced a severe allergic reaction to the vaccines and died on 09/24/2020 because the vet dosed my puppy wrong!

Made an appointment for 9:45am, showed up at 9:40 and no one greeted me they just said sign in then threw the board on the counter. 20 minutes after waiting they asked if I filled out a form and I said no. Filled it out turned it in another 20 min wait and they finally talk to me. The ask for my dogs records and then say it's not valid and I need to give her the shots again for them to see her. Basically made me wait over 40 minutes to say they can't see my dog unless they vaccinate her again when it was done 4 months ago. Ridiculous waste of my time and horrible service.

Didn't even go, so can't speak to the quality of care here, but I can fill you in on what happened when I called. I'm relatively new to this area and needed to find a vet for a kitten I'd taken in. Just needed the usual look over, spay, and first shots. The receptionist quoted me near $400 for these, the basics. It was either $369 or $396, I don't remember which. It doesn't matter which as neither are acceptable nor the norm. I called the next vet on the list and received the usual quote of around $75 for the spay and $25 for the shots. I'm somewhat unclear on what this receptionist was trying to pull, but after reading the other reviews that mention the affordable prices at Azusa Animal Hospital, I am forced to assume she was either trying to pocket a few bucks or just plain high. In either case, if you're new here and looking for a new vet, I would avoid this one.

The Vet care a lot about the animals. You can tell they do this because they love their job and animals arent money bags to them. The Vet won’t try to sale you on something that you’re pet doesn’t need. I been taking my dog here for about 4 years now.

I was recommended this place from Bark Place groomers, they said he was very good, however I brought my dog in for a removal of a cyst, so long story short 2 blood tests 1 x-ray special dog food plus medication and over $400 dollars later my dog still has the cyst, it seems like they're just out to get as much money out of you as possible, pet owner beware.

My cat Abigail is a pure bred Abyssinian and she is made to feel like a little princess when she goes there, the entire staff is just fantastic, the Doctor explains everything in detail, and so does the staff, also no question is left unanswered. Very, very clean!!!
