Alameda is a great location hands down, however, sucked for me today. I arrived 30 mins before closing, but that was too late to give my pup a shower. Had shower hours been posted somewhere (online), I would have been aware and not waste my gas going to the Alameda location. I'm only posting to make others aware that shower hours are different than the store hours. Every location is different as I've never had an issue at any other store.

We love our PFE! The employees are THE best. Always kind. Always helpful. Super knowledgeable. The buy 3 get 1 free makes pricey pet things kind of affordable. Hoping nothing changes with the corporate buyout.

Really great experience researching and reaffirming dog feeding habits and food transition processes. I learned a lot from Kyle who patiently went into some of their products , differences and benefits on types of protein or treats. We have what we found out to be an American bully almost 2 yrs old and want her to be healthy so it was helpful to learn about raw food options and why it’s good to mix it up sometimes or how to and be preventative instead of reactive when it comes to the healthy things in life

They may be a little pricey, however, the extra cost is generously repaid in their welcoming and pleasing environment for both you and your fur babies and in their in-depth training and expertise you can trust. Years ago they were very open about sharing information they had on all food brands, even ones they didn't carry. Like Kirkland for example, which I had been using for years because I could afford it. Come to find out, thanks to their knowledgebase, it's made by a really high end brand that is easily 4 times the price I pay. Needless to say I was extremely thankful for the information and it didn't seem to be any sweat off their back that I wouldn't be buying my cat food from them. I do get special treats there, they are the closest location to get Rosie's brand of catnip and catnip toys in various shapes. $6 a toy is a lot for a cat toy or treat but this stuff is worth every penny! I don't know what makes it different from other nips, I just know my cats go totally bonkers over it. Sure they'll play with others, but they nearly jump for joy over Rosie's.

Lowest prices I've seen in town. Also the dog bathing situation in back of store is on point. Friendly helpful crew towards pets and people alike. You can even use the pet scale! Hella convenient.

Awesome quality products with incredibly helpful staff members!I went here to spoil my little 11lb mutt with some fun stuff and walked out so thrilled with my experience.Ariel helped me and was patient, great with my dog and knowledgeable about all the products I inquired about. She helped me fit my dog properly for a harness, select the best treats for my little guy and was patient when my dog had a small accident (#2 ) in the store.If you are in need of anything for your pet, this is the place to go, you will have an awesome selection and work with upbeat, knowledgeable staff!

I recently got a new pet so this store is perfect. It has everything I need for my pet from food to toys beds and treatments! It's just really nice to have everything I'm looking for and the prices are reasonable. They have tons of items on clearance and there always having some sort of sale going on. The people that work there are super nice and helpful and I love that. Store is always fully stocked for your needs. Store is always kept nice and clean. I just can't say enough good things about it but overall a very good pet store 😊

First time going into this location and I can say the service is just as good as all of the other locations. The place was busy due to the vaccination clinic and it appeared that one section was under construction; however, all of the associated were helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable of the products on hand. The pet wash area was spotless and I'd recommend buying 3 washes so you can get 1 free. the towel service and treat placement shows the thought they went through to ensure that you and your furry friends experience is top notch. Also note that their 3 for 1 deals applies to other items in the store.

My wife and I love this place. They have all the good dog foods (raw, organic, free range, grain free) types of food. The associates are always nice and friendly. Also love their bathing station. They also have a great buy 3 get 1 free deal. Take advantage of that if you can!

This is by far the most accommodating pet store I've ever been to. IF YOU HAVE A DOG REACTIVE PET, COME HERE. We have a dog who is reactive to other dogs, but also has tons of fur that requires the heavy duty dryer for each bath (can't wash at home). We came in to use the phenomenal pet wash area, and mentioned to the staff that maybe they could give us a heads up if another dog came in for a bath so we could escape.Not only did they give us a heads up every time a dog came in the store, they offered that we could come in for a bath in the morning before the open. We now have a great relationship with Anthony where I just have to call the day before and he'll let us in for 30 min before they open so we have the store securely to ourselves and can wash our dog without any stress.Our dog used to be stressed about going into the store b/c she'd occasionally hear and smell other dogs, but now she runs into the doors with excitement!! Her very own playground with no stressful stimuli! Everyone's stress is significantly reduced thanks to Anthony, the rest of the staff and their kindness. It's not common that pet stores recognize the spectrum of dog behavior, let alone put in programs that accomodate for it. They deserve all the support and business they can get. Thank you!!

Convenient location, reasonably priced, and very polite helpful employees. BUT MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART IS THE DOG WASHING AREA. Has everything set up to do, plenty of space. Just love it.. Also, I love that they have a Veterinarian their few days a week.

Every staff member was immensely helpful and friendly. Each person made sure we knew that we could get a 4th toy free with the 3 we had already picked up. Everyone was also very knowledgeable about the stock, which is so important for us because we have dogs with specific behavioral and dietary needs. I wish we had a Pet Food Express where we live, but unfortunately we are just here visiting.

We explained our needs and were guided through options, products, asked questions that determined important choices and more. Ariel also hooked it up as we were first time customers with our new to us little girl trying all products for the first time. This place is great for some things.they have an amazing self serve pet shampoo area(just like a car wash)it makes it so easy to bathe fido (any size)staff is generally very helpful and on odd weekends(check dates for each location)a traveling vet.that will see you,that day& the prices tend to be WAY lower than conventional pet hospitals.and when shopping your welcome to bring your well behaved to medium well behaved pets(on leash)into the store.plus this location happened to be right on the estuary so you can take a lovely stroll along the water,right behind the store.located between the fruitvale & park st.drawbridges .super nice on a good day or nice evening

I wanted to like this store, I really did. Close by and convenient to get to. But, their selections seemed small and limited. I wanted some cat treats and it was this small section, with very few items. The few to chose from were unappealing and off brands, that were I dunno, organic or something. Rarely, do I leave a store empty-handed.

They have excellent selection of holistic dog food. We go for the Primal Raw dog nuggets. It's buy 3, get 4th free and it's a better deal than Amazon. Friendly staff. Lots of parking, although the lot itself, well...just remember to look both ways- it's wild out there!

Simple questions can't be answered by staff. I called to ask if the Vet was in on Monday 7/4, and was told YES, so I drive 20 minutes to get there only, the VET was not there, they don't even come on Mondays.I called again today, was told yes, the vet is here, you can come. I get there and of course, the vet can not see my pet.Incompetent staff, miscommunications, don't have a care, I don't know, but I'm never going back to this store ever again.Highly suggest that you call and get someone WHO KNOWS what they are doing before wasting your time coming to this location.

This Alameda Pet Food Express has great friendly staff who has always been ready to help and provide good advice. Love the 30 day return policy on any product. Vet available on Saturday mornings for nail clippings, vaccinations and check-ups.

Great place for pet supplies. We have a dog with severe food allergies, and pet food express always has a ton of treats made from usual proteins that we can feed him without triggering a reaction. Staff is super nice and helpful and the buy 3get the 4th free deal on almost all toys, food and treats is fantastic

This has the best do it yourself dog wash in the area. The tubs are good sized and the water pressure is adequate for a thick coated dog. I recommend weekdays if possible as it does get busy and noisy on weekends. One of my dogs gets very stressed if someone allows his dog to howl, and there are often howlers on weekends.Pet food and supply assortment is also great.

This Alameda store location has really great service with a good return policy. Always felt good about purchasing items for our cat knowing we can return it if our cat doesn't like it. Plus they have a vetranerian available on Saturday mornings to provide vacinations, checkups or nail trimmings.
