I requested to adopt, was interrogated on my dog's shot record. Then he sent me an email with information about heartworms, pretending on the phone that there was still a possible adoption. He them emails me that I am not suited.I check back a month later and the dog is still not adopted. I hate it for the animals there. Instead of going to a nice home where they would be loved, they are still there because I couldn't locate my dog's heartworm medicine records. It's unfortunate. But go anywhere else if you can.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE FOR ANY REASON!!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. THE OLD LADY WORKING BEHIND THE DESK IS A HEARTLESS, WRETCHED WOMAN!!!! ALL SHE SEES IS DOLLAR SIGNS!!! THEY WILL TREAT YOU, AND YOUR PETS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLY!!! MAKE THE TRIP TO A DIFFERENT FACILTY, DO NOT GO HERE!!! I HAVE HEARD SO MANY HORROR STORIES FROM FRIENDS/FAMILY ABOUT THE TERRIBLE TREATMENT HERE! THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!!! I WAS HAVING TO PUT MY CAT DOWN, AND THE OLD LADY HAD THE AUDACITY TO BE UTTERLY INSENSITIVE TO A DEGREE THAT STILL BAFFLES ME. AS WE WERE VERY EMOTIONAL DUE TO THE SITUATION, SHE MADE IT A POINT TO MAKE SURE WE KNEW THAT WE WERE AN INCONVENIENCE TO HER, AND IT WAS OUR FAULT THAT WE WERE IN THIS SITUATION!!!! I CANT BELIEVE A PLACE THATS SUPPOSED TO BE A HAVEN FOR ANIMALS, COULD BE SO HEARTLESS!!!! I REPEAT, DO. NOT. GO. HERE. SERIOUSLY.

The old lady working here is horrid. Won’t approve people for the most benign reasons. Clearly running a racket to continue getting as much cash flow monthly as possible by keeping the kennels full.

We love our new family member! She is perfect for us and is a super love bug and well behaved. The staff was friendly and helpful. We couldn’t be happier. I’m glad they are so careful who they adopt out to. If you don’t have the patience to fill out and email an application, you don’t have the patience to be a dog owner. Highly recommend this great facility. Thank you for all you do for the animals.

I've had a great experience with the Searcy humane society, especially their adoption department. They were all so helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. I was able to get my new fur baby yesterday & she has been the best little girl ever. Thrilled that I was chosen to be her new momma. Thank you to all the members of staff that made this moment happen. Their staff were awesome with helping introduce my family and dog with her. The staff are pros when it comes to matching the right dog to a new owner. Couldn't have been anymore perfect for us. Adopt don't Shop

Very clean place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All the animals that I saw were clean, healthy, and happy. We found our new puppy there. I would highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking for a loving companion for their self or family.

The dogs and cats were so cute ! The baby dog was super happy and had the zoomies and the other dog stormi was a great boy he sat when we told him to and layed on my lap and she slipped her coller right off when we got back to put her in the cage and I dont think she wanted to leave us because he kept stopping. It was so fun

The staff is great! They are kind and knowledgeable about the personality of the animals there as well as nutrition/health facts. They truly want to place each animal in a home that will match that animal's personality and needs, allowing success in the adoption match. We had a very positive experience adopting our newest family member from them and highly recommend them!

We were treated like family by the team at this shelter. The adoption process was professional and they care what home these animals go to. From start to finish they made the whole process a blessing. The Searcy human society is as good as it gets!

Had my daughter fill out application.. told her to bring her kids to see how the dog interacted with the children.. then when they got there they were told they could not see the dog they picked out.. they were not suitable for that dog and they tried to force other dogs on them.. these people are on a power trip..

Wouldn't even let us in the door without filling out an application. Filled out the paper form and then they told us it must be emailed in. We left and bought a dog from a breeder. Who did an over the phone interview to see if we were a good fit.I believe in the mission of this place which is why I gave 2 stars. Staff just isn't personable or accommodating.

Provides their employees with 10h-12hrs worth of work on a 8hr work day. Provides broken equipment to their employees and when the animals escape said equipment proceeds to yell and cuss at them. When you quit you maybe waiting 30 days for your final paycheck. If your looking for a job be careful were you land.

Awesome staff. Loved where we could bring our dog to meet their new sibling to get to know them and make sure they liked each other before taking them home. We will be visiting again for kitten in the future

I found a pet cat someone had dumped on my property. He was very friendly, so after earning his trust for a few days, I managed to bring him in on my own. The older woman at the desk acted as if I was annoying her by bringing the cat in and was rude. She said I shouldn’t have fed the cat because if I had it would have just “wandered off.” It was obviously a pet. If no one fed it, it would have starved. They wanted me to ignore a cat in need just so they didn’t have to deal with it. The older woman then complained that the cat would stink up the place because he was a whole male, despite the fact that the place was full of dogs who will likely make the place reek over night. I thought the purpose of this place was to take care of abandoned or stray animals. I was shocked by the disregard for the cat’s well-being and the rudeness. I hope someone adopts the cat. He was very sweet and nice.

Go ahead and check other places because this place is seemingly impossible to get a pet from.. I was trying to save a pets life by going to the animal shelter, right? You figure they'd want you to adopt their pets, right? well, no. Felt as if I were being interrogated by the police. Other shelters don't do this and they make it a lot easier to adopt. Try all but this one! Love my new lil furr guy that I didn't get from here because this place sucks.

Dont even bother. I sent an email to get an application and never got one.I went up there to tell them my cats were missing and my daughter wanted a dog.Ok i emailed way before they closed on the 27th of August.I was told wait a couple hours and check your email.Didnt get one.I called back and then they told me "well its monday so give it a couple days.Didnt get oneI called back on Tusday (after Labor Day)I was then told that they are having computer problems.If you dont want to adopt to animal people then i dont know what to tell you.I really dont like it in Searcy or the people.

This place doesn't just send a pet home someone! They make sure you are able to care for it as well. They verified with my vet that all of my animals had received proper care before allowing me to adopt. I will admit at first I was aggravated but after realizing what their process is; I was happy!

I adopted my beautiful shih tzu here and could not ask for a better dog. The facility is clean and the animals are well cared for. The staff is also very helpful when looking for your new family member. Don't shop. Adopt!!

I have to say that my experience at the Humane Society-Searcy was like i was being interrogated by the police for commiting some crime. It started as soon as they opened the door I spoke and they said you have your driver's license? What?Why? Then I went inside and was demand to fill out paperwork which was filled out just as it was asked for anyone to fill out. Then they said that "IF" they take the dog I had to make a $30.00 donation because the dog was outside the city limits? After stating that was not right I was told or take it home in which there's a $300.00 pet deposit. Then I was rudely told that they'll take it this time but don't come back? I'm sorry for the inconvenience of you having to work/ do your job I have lived in bigger and smaller cities than Searcy and there was never any of the interrogation involved with their Humane Society's company/employees or "donation" involved. I know that if anyone is looking to take a stray there I would stay as far away from there as possible. Absolutely hands down the worst experience with anything I've ever dealt with and you couldn't pay me to return.!!

So my wife and I went to adopt a dog that could be inside for are two children. We found a gorgeous black terrier mix who was absolutely sweet at the Humane Society of Searcy. We got to spend some time with the dog and it would have been an amazing fit for our family. We were really excited.Well Pam the "boss" of the shelter decided to very rudely tell my wife and I that we are terrible pet owners because our two inside cats are not spayed and that an outside dog isn't neutered. The outside dog, Arlo, who's mother was dropped off starvin, malnourished, and pregnant we have had since it was born and found good homes for his mother and siblings. Our animals are well fed, sheltered, and we love spoiling them on holidays. However none of that matters since they arent spayed and neutered....because if we decide that we want them to reproduce that doesn't matter.Needless to say after being scolded like I was 5 and had just broken grandma's favorite antique we informed them they could shred our application and that we would be contacting their governing office.The ones who suffer the most are the pets she is supposed to be caring for, helping find a forever home, and who are lonely...and our two precious kids who wanted nothing more than a new fur baby.If you want a good animal find a loving family who has to give up their pet because they are moving, fell on hard times, or just want a better life for their pet. Please don't subject yourself to the atrocious behavior of the "boss" at the Humane society in Searcy.

Dont bother.....would have have 0 stars.Never adopted from a shelter so we wanted to help outWent to pick a dog out for our boys n found a perfect fit.Did our application Which we were told looked amazing and wonderful they would process it and give us a call I waited 36 hours called them they said they were in the middle of an adoption and would call us back never called us back I called the next day they said the exact same thing they were in the middle of an adoption and would call us back I waited was going to call them the next day only to go on Facebook to see they adopted the dog out from under us to someone else...This is why people dont deal with shelters anymoreYou have good homes these animals can go to and you do stuff like this.I posted on the picture of the dog they deleted it I posted again they deleted my comment on fb again no one has ever called me to explain or apoligize...Not to mention the staff is not very friendly with exception to 1 girl there
