This was our first experience with having a cow butchered. We were able to customize the thickness that we wanted our steaks cut and how they were packaged. We were also able to pay a little extra to have the meat vacuum sealed. When it was ready and we went to pick it up, they brought it out to a loading area and it came in crates and it was frozen. We really did not know how much meat there would be, so we really could have used more ice chests. There were 11 crates total with 521 pounds of meat. I would say 3 really large ice chests or 6-8 medium sized ones would do, but if you don't have that they do have mesh bags that they can bag it for you. We split the cost between 3 families and we were able to fit our portion in a medium sized chest freezer. Each package of meat is labeled. I was very happy with my experience. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be doing this over buying beef from the store.

To anyone thinking about using these folks I highly recommend them. I know for a fact they are honest people, when we got our meat back we had a partial pack of sausage. I have had meat cut several places and never gotten a partial back. So for anyone saying that they are stealing meat, to each their own but I say it’s a farce! They were very easy to work with and they meat was cut to our liking. Bottom line is this, these are hard working people just trying to make a honest living, give them an opportunity to earn your business.

They're located in Rudy, AR and have some of the best meat I have ever eaten. It's tender and flavorful without any added water weight. Definitely worth the money and the drive.

We have sent 3 bucks to Rices this year and all 3 have been excellent. I loved the deer jerky and our meat is top notch! The customer service was excellent in my opinion. It is clean, easy to access and well organized. I will be referring and using them again. It is well worth the drive from Clarksville to get our deer processed!

Dropped off 2 deer picked up the meat. Seemed kind of short for 2 deer. So I got home and checked the meat I only have 2 inside tenderloins from 2 deer. Don't add up to me should be 4. I won't be back there's some meat skimming going on somewhere.

I took 2 hogs and then back in 2 weeks. The amount of meat I got back was astounding! And the meat, the cured meat and sausage especially, is excellent! The staff was extremity nice and helpful, both when I dropped the hogs off and when I came to get the meat. I saw some negative reviews, and I can't speak to those people's concerns, but as for me, I had a wonderful experience throughout and would highly recommend!

I saw all of the negative reviews and really wanted to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong.They stole almost 60% of my hanging weight, roughly 75lbs.You don't only get 62lbs of meat from a 270lb animal.The meat I received had already been frozen and was nearly thawed out when I picked it up. It was warm, soaking wet from thawing, in varying packages for no apparent reason, and smelled.I honestly believe this was stored frozen meat from another animal; meaning the meat from my animals was completely stolen.Response to the Owner's comment below:No it's not a false statement. A 270lb animal would yield roughly 132lbs of meat, I received 62lbs, which means 70lbs(60%) of meat is missing. You can't argue with math!!

I can’t not review but I can’t get over fact my 18 month old black angus steer live weight was 1k lbs and I got back 415 lbs processed … seems shady to me someone is either hooking up homies switching meat out or they putting 20% back for the big guy , disappointed my butcher awareness is now high will be taking kill steers to B and W give them a try

My husband took his deer meat there to get Jerky made it's always been $15 a bag now it's that plus #, $76 for 4 bags of Jerky. None of them was full like we use to get we have been going there for so many years. We got 2 bags hot and 2 bags regular the regular bags are chewy not good. When I picked them up 1 man was in front of me the guy took both our tickets he went and got the guys meat came out and 3 customers came in took their tickets and got their meat i was waited on last, was not happy about that. VERY disappointed about Jerky quality and quantity.

Just got back my husbands buck. The day we took it in it was a quick process and super friendly. I was dropping off for the husband and had no idea what I was doing. Got great help from a young man and Rick. Let’s just say the meat and the jerky is a favorite in our house. Well done !

This place is so convenient in every aspect. I’m new to the area so I’ve only used them once. My only concern is, I requested only steaks and breakfast sausage for my deer I brought in. We eat A LOT of sausage and was looking forward to it but, the first batch we cooked my wife had me taste it and said, “what do you think?” My first reaction was simply, “did they give us all burger?” It didn’t taste like sausage at all. The good thing is we have plenty of deer burger. Cockrum’s, a reply would be great because I really really really want to get this sausage thing right. You guys are top notch. I honestly do not think I’m being picky. I’m hoping my batch just got made very weak. Other then that, this place is 10 star.To the Owner: Thank you very much for the quick response! After seeing your response you are probably right. They didn’t ask mild, or hot or anything. With that.....I didn’t ask either and should have. I’ll just wait and have my next deer in hot sausage. Again thanks for the response and I’ll be back up there very soon.

We have been having our beef precessed at Cockrum's for many years and have always gotten exactly the custom cuts we ordered that are beautifully wrapped and plainly labled. They are such nice people, and the store is very clean. They also make wonderful beef jerky!

Have purchased tons of meat when this was Cochran’s. Ever since it was sold and became Rices, the quality has gone way down. My husband called at the beginning of April I believe to purchase a hog. We were told the price and when it would be available. Mid May rolls around and we haven’t heard anything, so we called back. They said “sorry, we couldn’t get to your hog this go around but you’ll be in the next round. It will be ready first week of June.” Alright, that’s understandable. We’ll mid June comes around and we still haven’t heard anything so we call back AGAIN. Then they say “oh we stopped getting our hogs from UofA, but we can get you one of our hogs for DOUBLE the price that was originally agreed upon at the beginning of April.” That was all they kept saying. They have turned into a shady company since it was sold. Other family members have had meat stolen out of their deer. It’s a shame that it’s become such a mess. We’ll be taking our business to someone who isn’t shady and actually cares about the customers.

Meat prices are reasonable, the jerky is a huge bag for the price, and staff are friendly. Edit: I grilled one of their ribeyes, gotta say that's one of the best, most tender steaks I've ever had. And I grew up in Texas. I wont buy steak from anyone else now. The sausage was awesome too, kinda like a bratwurst but juicier

I had a hog processed here back in December and pretty much the whole half was made in to sausage other than a few small packages of bacon and that is NOT what I requested :o They recently gave me 4 small roasts to try to make that right. I now had a beef processed there and not only did they mix up my beefs hanging weight with another beefs hanging weight, but I only got about 47% of my hanging weight and that INCLUDED all of the soup bones AND tongue :o So less than 47% really and average is 60%. I agree with another post on here that there must be some meat skimming going on somewhere. When I told Blaine I would just take my business elsewhere he said OK like he could care less. Siloam Springs Meat Processing will get all of my business from here on out.

I have been very satisfied with the beef and pork I have bought, in fact I’m sitting here eating my cured bacon now that I received, it is so delicious. The staff has been very friendly. I am happy I found you guys, I will no longer get my meat from Kansas because you have just as good, if not better quality.

Best beef ever! We bought a half beef from them, and the steaks are very tender. They offered a variety of cuts, we got a lot of roasts and steaks. We had the lesser cuts ground into burger. also got the liver, heart and tongue, plus bones for the dogs. Will definitely be buying another. We have also purchased a half hog from them in the past, and it was delish. Don't expect the bacon cuts to be pretty and uniform, however this does not detract from the flavor. These good folks are now my go-to guys for pork and beef.

I bought a whole hog from Cockrums a couple weeks ago. I wanted to wait to give a review until I tried all of the different cuts that we received. Everything was amazing. I gave my parents half of what we bought and they were also impressed with what they have cooked so far.

They are great people with an amazing product, just tried the original beef jerky and it's the best jerky I've had in my life...love it. If you're looking for a butcher or meat processing in Rudy, Alma or the nearby areas check them out. The bacon and ribeye are out of this world, now I need a bigger freezer.

For the last few years my family has been getting a turkey and ham for Thanksgiving and a ham for Christmas from Cockrum's. It's always beyond delicious. Overall they do a really good job and the meat is packaged very clean and professional. The stew meat, whole tenderloins, and ground meat has been great on each deer i have taken there. Cheddar Jalapeno summer sausage is top notch, i wish i would have ordered a lot more of it but I intend to do that on the next deer i kill.

Bought a hog from these folks found them to be honest and up front with everything and very helpful. I will have a steer processed here in the late summer. Would recommend them to my friends or anybody else that I might meet. Just good honest hard working people that take pride in there products and go out of there way to make you happy unless you are totally un-reasonable. Thanks and will be seeing you all again soon.

I've had a bull and a hog process with them and everything was to standard. They hung there beef in the correct temp and it taste wonderful. I will use them in the near future.

Worst cut steaks n roasts I've ever seen. Ice crystals on meat. Been raising n butchering meat for over 40 years. Very very disappointed. Steaks are up to 4 inches then go down to 1/4 inche. This is on one steak!!!! They are all like that😫😫😫😫😫
