Great food and a true small mom and pop dinner. LOVE IT! Always great food and service in mom and pop restaurants. Service was excellent, atmosphere was great. Best catfish I had in a very long time. My wife and I went there for date night and it was great. Will be coming back to try other dishes they serve.Parking: Plenty of parking right in front and side of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They have high chair for babies and children.

One of the best places that I have got to sit an have a real old time fashion meal!! Ty order a combo fish an shrimp an all u can eat beans, relish, hush puppies, coleslaw an salad with one sides well worth the price too!! Fast service! Never went thirsty.

I have been eating here pretty much my entire life. There is a reason people come from far an wide and that reason is the fish. The beans and other sides are always good and seem to be never ending. I have been on steak night, Tuesday, several times and it was always excellent. Great service too.

First time eating their the big bowl of Beans was awesome, their big bowl Slaw is really good got plenty of hush puppies I got shrimp dinner with fries (excellent) he got Fish and it was good. Very Satisfied, got full, great Service it was late and all teenagers did great service. We have no complaints. Next time we'll try something different.

Drove from Pine Bluff to eat there. The service was fast, the set up for the fish was great. We ordered Onion Rings and Coconut Shrimp for appetizers and both were excellent. The Coconut dip for Shrimp was so good too. Fish was the best I have had, one in the group ordered Chicken Fried Steak and it was wonderful. We will be regulars. Thank you for great service, great young waitress and delicious hot food.

I was last here 12 months ago and was impressed. However today I was very disappointed. It has changed so much. The catfish was not very good. I can't put my finger on what the problem was. The pieces were bigger and thicker than what I previously experienced with catfish. It also had dark strip down the center like fat. The beans didn't have the taste as before, like no seasoning. The setups did not include tomatoes as it had before. We ordered plane hush puppies and they served pepper hush puppies. Last Tuesday they said the cook that cooks the steak wasn't there so no steaks on steak night. Tonight they said the grill is broken so no steaks. This doesn't sound like the same Whippet that I once loved. I'll not be going back here.

Wife and I went to the Whippet on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. My wife had the 2 piece catfish dinner, with all of the stuff that comes with it (e.g. beans, slaw, onion, hush puppies, pickled green tomatoes). She loved it, as she has in the past. I had the hamburger steak dinner, with a baked potato, and side salad. I was completely satisfied with my food as well. We both had water to drink. We'd been to the Whippet numerous times before, and will definitely be going again.

Family owned, seafood, senior night on Thursday, reasonably priced. Spicy and regular catfish, battered shrimp 🍤.Eaten here in the past, wasn't impressed. We got there, a little after 5pm, everything was newly cooked and delicious 😋People come from all over the state & else's to eat.

Food is good, catfish was small, glad i ordered 3. Tomato relish was sweet, not recommended for people with type 2 diabetes. Okra was very good, fresh.

This was my favorite restaurant as a small child. The food is still FANTASTIC... hands down, the very best fried catfish in the state. But over the years, the atmosphere has diminished. The carpet and walls are, well, disgusting. It's time for a remodel. Then the place will be top notch again.

On Saturday afternoon at 2:45p.m. my husband, daughter and myself Walked into this establishment. Immediately after entering the doors we were greeted with such a sweet smiling face and pleasant aroma of the fried catfish. The place was clean, the staff was Friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place 😊. We ordered and within 5 minutes we had our complete order.

Won’t be back food was nasty and took about 30 min to receive it and on top of that took about 20 min to receive the set up. All of the food did not seem done on the meals. The First Lady took our order and never returned she was too busy cleaning tables off and she had the girl that was rolling silver basically get what we needed after we had to ask for it and she acted like she was scared of us.

I've been here before, thought the food was good. But after the waitress took our order and gave us our drinks she never came and checked on us again. We waited over an hour and never got our food. Another waitress had to tell us that they were going to check on our food. It wouldn't have been so bad if our waitress has communicated with us or even gave us refill but she kept avoiding our table.

I always love to go here with my family when visiting home. We always get great food and great service. Most of us are crazy about the catfish. My husband doesn't like fish or seafood but he really enjoyed the Philly cheese steak!

We had a group of seven on a busy Sunday afternoon. We had several burgers. Everyone was happy. My dad was a little surprised to find fried bologna on his club sandwich, but, hey, this is the South. Onion rings were terrific, as were the sweet potato fries. I even had a great club salad. Waitresses were great.
