My daughters service dog got loose looking for her while she was out of country. They contacted the police and surrounding towns looking for him. They also suggested that I put some of her dirty clothes or her blanket outside. After putting her laundry outside he came home in 15 minutes. Thank you all for your help and support.

Best Friends Animal Society has reached out to the Centerton mayor about the conditions of the animal shelter, offering help due to animals being starved to avoid the employees having to clean up feces. She also stated that the air quality was not controlled and stated when the temperature was checked during the summer months, it was 96 degrees where the animals were being confined. There is no use of beds or soft padding in the Centerton shelter, dogs are forced to sleep on the floor. And she was told that they didn't use beds because staff didn't like doing laundry. She went on to state that four westie schnauzers went into the shelter severely matted and one needing antibiotics for a UTI and it went untreated until the dogs were removed from the shelter. There was also a Yorkshire terrier that died in the kennel because of a heat stroke because no one could authorize emergency treatment.I would highly suggest exhausting all options prior to contacting this facility!THEY ARE A KILL SHELTER

We fostered then adopted a beautiful dog from here and we are so so happy with our decision. The girl with rainbow hair who works here was especially helpful in helping us unite with the best dog for our family. You can tell she really cares about the animals here. Because of COVID, we had to do paperwork and meetups outside with masks on, but even so we had a good experience here.

Had a good experience at this shelter. My family and i have gone in the past and had the BEST help from some of the women who work here! They’re very kind and encouraging to take home a new fur baby! Would highly suggest this location

I hope they treat their dogs better than they do the people who call them. I had a very poor experience calling in to ask about appointments to see dogs for adoption. The woman who answered the phone was very condescending and had the worst attitude I have gotten from an employee anywhere in a long time. I am looking for a dog to adopt and this place was discouraging to say the least.

I have been to see dogs a few times and the facilities are not bad. Answering phones is their one big failure.

Great place. They work hard to reunite lost dogs with their family, and if that is not possible they try to find good and loving homes for them. They utilize social media to reunite and fund homes for the pets.

Adopted a beautiful and kind dog named Tre. During the adoption process I was told by the shelter that Tre "maybe" had muscle atrophy and it would get better with exercise. Great! Completed the adoption process and was told that I would be able to take him home the following Tuesday from the Centerton Animal Hospital, as he would need to be neutered before release. Today is Tuesday and I found out that Tre will need $700-$1000 worth of surgery because his "muscle atrophy" is actually a a dislocated hip and they recommended surgery sooner rather than later. I asked them if the shelter never brought Tre into the hospital in the 6 MONTHS he was there, and they said NO. Today was the first time the Centerton Animal Hospital is seeing him and the Centerton Animal Hospital tried their best to fix the issue, however they could not. God bless the Centerton Animal Hospital, however the Centerton Animal Shelter could do a lot better. I have not taken Tre home and I will already have to surrender him due to the expensive surgery and lack of information I was provided. The shelter should have known about this in advance and he should not have been considered as ready for adoption. However, he was considered as ready for adoption, which was wrong. I understand that the shelter may not have the funds to afford the surgery, however Tre should not have been considered adoptable and they should have taken him in to the Centerton Animal Hospital for evaluation so that they could inform the future owner of his issue. The shelter has since wiped their hands clean and not considered supporting Tre in any way. I am completely heartbroken right now.
