Located in the quaint town of Superior, Arizona, just an hour east of Phoenix, Silver King Smokehouse and Saloon is a must-visit destination for lovers of tender smoked meats and ice-cold beer. As frequent visitors to the area, we always make it a point to stop by Silver King, and on our recent visit, we were delighted with the trio of meats—smoked brisket, pulled pork, and turkey—accompanied by a side of perfectly seasoned fries. Each meat was impeccably tender and juicy, a testament to the expertise of the pitmasters. Notably, even the smoked turkey, a challenging feat to accomplish, exceeded our expectations. Whether you find yourself in Superior or en route to Globe, Silver King is a culinary gem not to be missed.

TLDR: a nice place with a great atmosphere both inside and out, kind staff and clean bathrooms.I wouldn’t normally visit a smokehouse, as I don’t eat meat, but I found some yummy potato salad that they were able to leave the bacon off of, and some macaroni salad, which, along with my craft soda float, were enough to get me through till dinner! 😝He had the loaded fries, I’m he thought were ok, but the pulled pork was very fatty, and he doesn’t like fatty meat. The flavor was good, but there wasn’t much meat after the fat.The decor was interesting and cool and so were the staff.We may not return, but for people who love smoked meats, I think you’d very much enjoy it!Vegetarian options: You can order the potato salad without meat and it’s good! The macaroni salad also doesn’t have meat in it.

My partner and I visited for the first time on a Sunday for lunch. The food was exceptional to us. We got the Kings platter that comes with the four different meats. The ribs and pulled pork was so so good. We weren’t as big of fans of the brisket, we thought it was a bit dry. But otherwise just absolutely delicious food. Service was great! Will be visiting again.

Phenomenal brisket honestly if you order anything make sure it has the brisket.They have amazing local beers such a cool vibe and near a ton of places to hike. Great place to go for a weekend trek out of the city.We got the brisket on our loaded fries and brought our puppy with us. The gold and the spicy bbq was phenomenal sauces here

There's a subtle smokiness upon entering the restaurant, just enough to be enticing and not overpowering. There was plenty of street parking at 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, and no wait to be seated. We were greeted immediately and told we could seat ourselves and order at the bar. After a long morning hike, we both decided on the chopped brisket sandwich on sourdough bread, and my partner added fries. The brisket was excellent and needed no additional seasoning. The service was great, too. They were attentive but not intrusive. Can't wait to go back!

Wow! Unreal how good everything was. Got the Kings platter. All the meat was incredible. Didn't need a drop of sauce on anything. I did try the spicy sauce on some bread and it was very tasty, definitely had some kick. The macaroni salad was perfect. Had some heat and was definitely a different style than I'm used to but perfect. Thank you for the great meal!

Disclaimer: I’m a vegetarianDined here for lunch while in Superior for work. I ordered the green salad and potato salad without bacon. Loved the green salad and I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad but that is probably my fault with changing the order up. Overall I was happy there was a veggie option even if it was just salad. My one complaint was that my food was never brought to my table. The rest of my party got there food served to them and I waited and waited. I finally got up and grabbed my own food.

Really nice local spot for BBQ. Try the brisket sandwich and loaded fries! Both were absolutely delicious and the meat perfectly cooked. Don't forget to try the sarsaparilla.Friendly service and they'll have your food out before you know it.Nice seating options inside and outside (large patio w/ shade). Dog friendly!Parking: Parking is plentiful.

Great food. Gal who took our order was running the place solo so poor service was not her fault. She was doing a fabulous job, as good as anyone could expect. But, slow service which is understandable.One the other side. Dog poop on the patio (thankfully the cook or the one other employee working didn’t clean it up as they were busy serving food).Always great food but they definitely need more help. Mostly for the sale of their few employees, but also for the customers

The loaded fries are some of the best we’ve ever had! Came here around 4pm on a Saturday with a small group to celebrate my birthday. There was adequate seating and staff to take care of us. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful view of downtown Superior and the surrounding mountains. The meats were perfectly prepared and the selection of sauces were delicious. I do wish there was a more authentic barbecue sauce option; but that gold sauce was award winning. The beer/wine/liquor menu was diverse. The prices were in-line with the quality of the experience. The staff was very warm and attentive. If you’re in Superior you should definitely stop by Silver King BBQ!

My wife and I drove to Superior specifically to try out lunch at the Silver King Smokehouse. What can I say. We were disappointed. Did not know that the lunch menu is different from the dinner menu and that all they serve for lunch is sandwiches and salads. We each had the only item on the menu that remotely matched what we drove there for - a pulled pork sandwich. Way overpriced at $13 for what must have been a 4 inch small sandwich with not a lot of meat. And the pork lacked taste. Wanted fries as a side (your sandwich comes with no sides). No fries - out. So we asked for the potato salad. No potato salad - out. Settled on a small portion wedge salad for $3. At that price I won't complain about the size other than as I said, the sandwich comes with no side and for $13 they could have thrown in chips or a salad. So those are the cons. here are the pros. The wait staff was friendly, courteous and fast. The wedge salad was fantastic. Cold crisp and well complemented with a blue cheese dressing, grape tomatoes and bacon bits. The beer special is available all day, every day - what was probably a 12 ounce serving - Miller High Life Draft for $3.50. Seating is provided inside and out. Plenty of on-street parking. Would I go back? Not for lunch, but maybe for dinner to try out what we came for - the meats.

Superior is such a great place. It has a feeling of “home” but the sparkling gem is the Silver King Smokehouse! The waiters and bar tenders were so friendly and had big smiles. It was great on atmosphere and a fun place to go for good smoke food. Brisket and ribs had so much meat you can’t even finish a half an order. The salads were fresh and crisp and added to a delightful experience. Definitely will be back another time.

Delicious barbecue! Visiting Phoenix from Texas and stopped here for lunch on the way home. Got the Kings Plate with slaw and potato salad, and enjoyed every bit of it. Loved the tangy slaw. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the sauces were fantastic (Gold and Spicy were my favorites). Will be happy to visit again next time I'm out this way!

Took a drive to the BTA with my wife and pup, hungry afterwards decided to eat local before heading back to Phx; needed a dog-friendly place, SK was recommended by a friend. Sat outside on the patio despite cold weather, Ryleigh was kindly treated to a water dish, we ordered Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches with a side of beans (wife ordered coffee); server in a sling skillfully and happily served our drinks and food, added to a great atmosphere! The food itself was very tasty, beans with pork rinds a nice touch; I’d go back but as another reviewer said, would like more sauce choices. As for prices, what I’d expect at this time, I’m willing to pay them!

My friend and I had lunch at this place on a Thursday afternoon after a great morning exploring the Arboretum. We had the chopped brisket on a bun with aioli sauce and red onion jam. We also had the hand-cut fries. It was all excellent. We also enjoyed our drinks. We arrived closer to 2pm than noon and had the place pretty much to ourselves. The service was great! The decor is very much old west saloon in the current era. Several big screens within view. I totally recommend this place for a fun lunch!

These guys are doing it right! Some of the best slow barbecue that I have eaten! The restaurant was very clean and well staffed. The waitress we had was excellent..she was very attentive and it felt like we were her only table, but really she was taking care of several groups at the same time. The baked beans were special, Silver King does a pork panko crumble on the top...which adds an amazing extra taste. All this with the majestic peaks and nearby Copper Corridor makes this a place where I will definitely return!

The food was average at best. The fries were actually great. But the potato salad was disgusting, and the sandwiches were not good and over-priced. The atmosphere of Superior is fantastic and the redeeming factor of this place.I paid $14 for a bad pulled pork sandwich, with fatty meat and bad bbq sauce. I highly recommend seeking out Theo’s stand if you’re hungry in Superior. We got amazing $7 pulled pork sandwiches with twice as much meat and amazing bbq sauce.

I got the smoked turkey and it literally melted in my mouth. The meat is just absolutely delicious. It has a nice outdoor area where you can sit and drink. And the vibe is really laid back and relaxed. The waiters and waitresses were just so kind and so chill!Highly recommend this place!

The only negative was we went on a Wednesday and it's only burger day. BUT, the bartender told us they had shredded pork and shredded brisket sandwiches.We both got the shredded brisket, and it was juicy, perfectly smoked, and the bun was amazing!!We'd definitely go back on the days when they have the smokehouse is open.

We had a nice Sunday at the Arboretum and then took the scenic highway to Globe. We got off the highway and drove through downtown Globe and Superior on our way back to Phoenix and came across Silver King. We had our dog, Shadow, with us and he was pleased that both inside and out were dog-friendly. We sat in the shade on the patio in sight of two massive smokers.My wife and I both got pulled-pork sandwiches. The cole slaw comes on the sandwich, so we both opted to leave the cole slaw off. I got a side of fries with mine and shared. We both shared our sandwiches with Shadow, who gobbled it hungrily! We agree with Shady that the food was very good and we'd definitely dine here again.We ordered at the front door and they brought the food to our table. Staff was very friendly and helpful, "I'll be around here, please let me know if you need anything else." Prices were a little higher than I expected, but I think that everywhere I go in these post-Pandemic times.Would definitely dine here again the next time we go to Boyce Thompson.

What a great surprise we were in after our visit to the wonderful Boyce Arboretum on this slow Monday! Excellent food, great western interior and a big outside sitting area plus last not least: great staff!!! Now on our list of „keepers“:)
