I've never encountered the urine smells mentioned in the other comments. It has always been clean and presentable when I have visited.The employees are friendly and helpful, particularly Mike. I had an issue with a defective aquarium and he hounded the supplier to get me a replacement. They have a decent selection of fish and reptiles and a good selection of aquariums as well.Their products are typically a little less pricey than Petsmart, which is a big reason I will continue to patronize Pets West.

Walked into the store on a whim to find out more about owning a fish tank. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful. They answered all our questions and didn't try to "up sell" us on anything. All their fish seem to be happy and healthy (more so than those at petsmart.) They also offer a five day warranty on all their fish with proof of purchase (which is a welcome feature when investing into a pricey thing such as setting up a fish tank or aquarium.) I recommend this store.

Just went into this store, just to wander after hitting up Hastings next door. As soon as you walk in you are bombarded with the smell of urine, yes I know its a pet store but it was so strong it just hits you.They have puppies for sale, in tiny little cages 3 dogs to a cage at this time. Unregistered puppies at that, which reeks of puppy mill to me.I will NOT be going to this store again. Disorganized, smelly and puppy mill supporters. They should IMO, take in puppieskitties from the shelter and help to adopt them out like other pet stores do "Petsmart"...But for Pets West it is all about the bottom line, not about the animals.
