So grateful to the AZ humane society bringing us together with our sweet girl! She is such a loving and good pup. The staff were incredibly kind. You can tell they really have a heart to find the best fit possible for the animals they care for. Our girl was older at 6 when we adopted her. While we originally were a little worried about adopting an older dog, the vet checks the humane society did completely matched the regular vet we see now that she has been with us. 10/10 experience!

Thumbelina has a rough past from what I was told, I’m so happy to give her the life she deserves! Even though she had an abusive owner, her trust in me (a guy) amazes me.She’s doing very well and warming up to new people she meets. She hasn’t been aggressive at all. I can tell the people here take great care of the animals. I’m so happy I got to adopt her.Thank you everyone! You all were so nice and helpful throughout the whole process. The process was super fast!Thank you!

I had to say goodbye to my bunny I had for 9 years that I also adopted from here and it was so hard 😥 decided to come look at the bunnies soon after and one named Max stood out to me. I adopted him and he is the cutest little guy and has brought joy into my life again! He has made himself at home very fast and is so rambunctious. Thank you guys for being so kind and making the adoption process smooth. Grateful to give another bunny in need a home.

I waited 5 hours for you, but you were worth every second! Thank you so much for giving me such an amazing buddy. I know you said she’s destructive and a chewer and is vocal but all she wants to do is watch documentaries and hike with me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I initially adopted my dog German shepherd/rottweiler Onyx in 2019 here and had a great experience in the process of taking him home. Today I took my three dogs to the veterinarian side for the first time to get their updated vaccinations. The receptionist was helpful by happily calling our dogs regular vet to ensure what vaccines each dog needed. The facility was clean and the vet techs were nice.

My buddy and I found a stray Pitbull and contacted the Humane Society to see if they would be able to take him. We were ADAMANT that we wanted him going somewhere that he would not just be killed. The representative assured us that they have a “97%” adoption rate and that they “would only put him down if the dog was severely sick or injured”. The rep also provided us with a number to track him through his adoption process. After not being able to track his status for a week, we contacted the Humane Society to see what was going on. The reason why we were not finding him is because they had already KILLED HIM, just 8 days after picking him up! They justified it by stating he had “arthritis in his hip”and a “dental disease”. I spent a few days with him and he was an awesome, healthy dog! (See photos)! Absolutely ridiculous that they would just kill this poor dog in a mere 8 days. Makes you question how often this happens and what the donations that they receive are actually being used for 🤔 because it definitely is not to save an animals life!!

I went in on a whim of looking for a new pup as the last puppy I got from here just wasn’t a good fit for my family ( I waited almost a year to get a new dog till we were ready ) but out of all the dogs in there I kept coming back to my sweet girl lily she deserves all the love in the world if you get a dog from here HAVE OPTIONS, if you have kids BRING THEM no matter the age , MEET ALL YOUR OPTIONS is my advice pics of my new sweet girl attached

My grand daughter and I found a cute lost puppy at the park. We took her to the humane society where they checked for a microchip and any lost ads in that area.Unfortunately none showed up but they accepted her there,I hope pretzel gets adopted and goes to a loving home. Not Humane ! Lack of Empathy!! Arizona Euthanizing Society!!DONT go to them to treat any stray animals or your pet! Stray animals also have a right to live! They give false information.A 1 yr old stray kitten, adorable and extremely cute, wandered into my backyard. She was very friendly, playful and lifted our spirit! One day she went missing and when she reappeared a couple of days later she was limping on her front leg.I thought AHS is truly humane and will fix her leg without amputating it and then I can adopt her. They came to pick her up and said they will 'care' for it and keep me posted and I can adopt her. They said they NEVER euthanize the animals. I trusted them- my huge fault! I DEEPLY REGRET REACHING OUT TO THEM!Every other day I contacted them to get update and it was all rosy! But after 3 weeks they amputated her leg without informing me. They never examined her leg. She would have recovered with just splint in the front portion. But these butchers lied that it was serious and cut her entire leg! After she was brought to AHS in south mountain campus I went to visit her every week. The poor fur baby was traumatized and scared. I wanted to take her home but they said she needed some behavioral treatment and they promised to call me next day and said I can adopt her. I went to bring her home the next day- but fur baby was euthanized (killed) because she hissed! Hope they perish!Only lies from day one- lack of empathy- just amputating and killing is their expertise! All the so called 'humane' way of treating animals posted in public media is ONLY to get donations $$$$$ from gullible people! Never donate to this horrible organization!

AHS is so knowledgeable about animals and the adoption process was so easy. They give you lots of resources to help with the transition when bringing your pet home. Plus I got a 10% discount on my first vet visit for adopting.

Had a great experience adopting an adorable loving cat. We got her during the free adoption weekend. Even though there were many people there the process was swift and not rushed. We love Snickers and can’t imaging life without her. We will definitely go back to get another soon.

I adopted Finnegan! We have a new member to the family!! Never boring moment with him around but we have really enjoyed him! We like the fact that he's potty trained and doggy door trained. He loves bath and water. He takes showers. He goes everywhere we go, hiking, long walks and he loves car rides. We can't wait to take him camping with us and fishing.

I went for the Bissell foundation 20$ adoptions for a small dog, and the process was very appropriate, and thorough before allowing adoption to take place, they did a great job and the facility was clean and well kept. The employees were all caring and attentive in timely fashion, overall very pleased with the experience.

We adopted Pip pip cheerio, now named Cinnamon Spice on June 2nd ! She was shy and reserved at first but after two days she's very affectionate and purrs whenever we pet her, she loves sleeping next to my youngest daughter and is loving her home so far, Humane Society is really the best place to adopt an animal in need of a home and have a great and smooth going service ! Update Hey everyone cinnamon spice 🔥🧡🧡🧡 has one more dose of shots to get we was there on June 27th and it was fast and convenient with everything your appointment is done online so they know you're coming and they send you a text a day before which is great cuz if you're busy mom like me I forget everything 🤦🏾‍♀️ and we just love that and we chose going back to where we adopted her from to keep up with her shots and we love it there and she's getting bigger & older and she exploring more and we just love her so much she's really a part of our family here's some pics from the day before and our first 4th of July with her enjoy 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 here some more pictures of her update cinnamon just turned 2 sorry we late with then update but here soon new pictures of her and birthday 🎂 she doing very good my daughter makes her cakes out of cat food and some other specialty stuff

Would love to see this organization in every country. I visited this location with my daughter who had an interview with Mr Dough for a university project and I was blown away by the cleanliness, the friendliness and needless to say the incredible humane approach to supporting animals and supporting pet owners as well. Pets were being adopted as we spoke, an average of 30 adoptions a day!!! It’s truly a dream set up for a Society that respects and cares for animal’s well being 🙏🏻❤️

The white bunny is the one we adopted to bond with the grey bunny. He was a stray but has taken quickly to the litter box, very affectionate, playful, and is bonding quickly too. He is not even fearful of our rabbit friendly dog. We are very happy with our new family member!

They are amazing they helped to take care of my cat until I was reunited with him. They went out of their way to make sure that he had all that he needed for his well-being. Since we reunited I can tell you he missed me but that he was in great hands. I will never forget this facility and Kiara for such a wonderful blessing of truly caring for our Sebastian, when we weren't able to.Now my seven-year-old son has this for a review:Another words when we first arrived he was kind of out of it and not acting like our normal Kitty.Within no matter of time at all he was back to Old Sebastian again little by little and we have South mountain humane society to thank for that.

Adoption through the Arizona Humane Society was such a quick and easy process! We let them know what we were looking for and they got us into the cat room to meet who we wanted to see within 10 minutes. We only had to spend a couple minutes with Rocket and knew right away he would be perfect for our family! Thank you again for all you do for these animals and I wouldn't be surprised if we visit again in the future for another (cat) adoption!Rocket only took 1-2 days to get mostly comfortable with our family and other cats and seems to be thriving!

The way I was treated and discriminated against here just for asking a question to the manager because i adopted at this location before with no issue even when the dog i had, had major issues around other dogs and i felt wasn't properly accessed prior to getting him. With that being said this made me give this place a zero star. I was isolated in a room they never used for meet and greets I was told and was told they were full, because they judged me for asking a question about wanting to take home a dog that was scared of other dogs. Now I understand that your policy as of now buti dont feel that i should have had to bring my dog if she was scared, i doubt a 30 pound dog would be scared of a 10 pound dog i've never done that with any of my dogs at any place or previously. The people that came that were on the list after me were placed around everyone else in the open. I realized that when i came out the room but yet I was told they were full and didn't have room. I never got to meet another dog similar to the dog i wanted that we discussed in the room. She left me in the room until it was almost time to close when I came out it was 20 min until closing and it wasn't any more time.I will never come back here or will I ever recommend this place. If you're of any race that has darker skin you will not feel that welcome.....

I recently adopted the sweetest most wonderful dog from the Humane Society. We went to one of their petsmart facilities and it was very easy. The staff cares so much for these animals and do a really great job making sure they're adopted by good people. I would strongly recommend helping a dog or cat find their forever home with the Humane Society.
