First discovered this place summer of 1983. Word of mouth from one of my Dad's coworkers. Rented the "Willows" for one week. We had the best time. Dad and I fished all day and Mom loved the peace and quiet!! We returned over the years to the "Blue Spruce" and "Cedars". My parents have passed, but I returned again to the "Aspens" twice. Will be back in less than a week, this time to the "Poplars". More than just memories bring me back. The management is personal and welcoming. The cabins are always clean, well stocked, and have that rustic feeling that relaxes you. It's becoming a "home away from home" for my household.

My husband, kids, and dogs were on our way to Greer for the weekend when our truck broke down in show low. We reached out pretty late in the day trying to find a place to stay while we figured out next steps and Todd responded very quickly. He was very friendly and made a unfortunate situation a bit more bearable. The cabins are nice, the common outdoor areas are great for families and overall we ended up actually enjoying our weekend. We will be back and are very happy to have stumbled across these cabins.

Lazy oaks is awesome. If you are a couple or couple with a kid or two I would recommend the Aspens cabin. Best location and view on property we believe. The entire property is great. TJ checked us in and was available when ever we needed. You may not find them in the office but they are always accessible by phone. When a advertisement says lakeside most of the time it's a walk away. Lazy Oaks is truly lakeside. From any cabin you can be on the edge of the water in about 60 seconds. I'm a slow walker. Most folks would be faster.Cabins are rustic. Everything worked well. Everyone staying here and the management were all very kind and very helpful. The price of the cabins is incredible. We will definitely be coming back. Lazy Oaks is definitely a diamond in the rough.

As this was our first visit, we enjoyed our stay. Cabins are rustic, clean and tidy. Happy for the pet friendly environment. Loved having the basic functional essentials. Enjoyed meeting the owners and staff. Everybody was friendly and welcoming. There is always room for improvement. With that being said, the new owners seam to be working that direction. Looking forward to visiting again.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Beautiful spot on the lake. The cabins are close together but secluded nonetheless. The hostess and ‘cabin butler’ are very kind and accommodating. It was hard to get ahold of someone at times but everything we needed was right there. Absolutely enjoyed our time and can’t wait to come back.

Cute little cluster of cabins right on a lake. Cabins are very, very old. If you are looking for luxury or modern accommodations this is not for you. If you're looking for rustic and woodsey then good to consider. The biggest unexpected shocker, coming from out of state... THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONER.

We are here now in the Pinion cabin. We're loving everything so far! The Pinion has a very nice private location with a view of the lake. It's very peaceful. The cabin is perfect for my husband and I and our son and 2 dogs. It's very well kept, very clean, smells good! The heating works well. We will be staying here from now on when we come to Pinetop to go skiing. The price is good as well. We're hoing to see about renting one of the onsite boats or canoes tomorrow.

While this place is not new it is maintained. I also felt cozy to have our family reunion at this location. I think we may have rented out 10 of the different cabins and everyone was happy to be there. They have access to water, fire pit, and pretty grassy areas. Plus shade fry all the pine trees in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Lazy Oaks (our second time here). Kevin was very kind and went out of his way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The cabins, while being a bit dated, were very clean. Fishing is pretty much just outside your doorstep and there are some rowboats for getting out on the lake as well. We will definitely return for another stay.

Very disappointed with our stay. We stayed in the Blue Spruce cabin and it was in very poor condition. The foundation on the cabin is failing and the kitchen is several inches lower than the rest of the house. Neither of the bathroom doors would close and they had duct tape attempting to seal one exterior door because the gaps were so big. Overall the property is nice but this cabin needs a lot of work. I emailed them about the issues but never received a response…..

We rented Lazy Oaks out for our wedding weekend and were not disappointed! The property is beautiful and almost every cabin has a view of the lake. The owners are very friendly and the cabins were nice and cute.

Stayed for Fourth of July weekend and it was a perfect, quiet, clean and peaceful cute resort off the lake. The cabins have their own bathroom, kitchen and porch. Some even have private patios. I definitely recommend.

We attended a wedding there and loved the place. It was a nice venue to have a wedding. What impressed us most is the staff!!! We cooked for the wedding and had multiple appliances plugged in and it blew a fuse, maintenance came and reset the breaker box and was very helpful. Then when we checked out and got back to the Valley we realized that we forgot a hard drive there with very important files. Kris answered our call on a Sunday and searched the cabin for us and FOUND IT!!!! We offered to pay her for her extra effort in searching for it and finding it but she refused, said it was no problem and was just happy we they found it! Going above and beyond is what this place does!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Disappointed with cabin , needs a good cleaning , windows are missing screens so lots of bugs, no cooler or a/c so fans are only way of cooling rm down , sofa bed is missing half the springs and held together by a hanger , Ceiling fan has a shoe string to turn on , curtains are falling off windows , this place has potential if owners would put some work into it.Fishing was excellent and overall property is nice but these rooms are like a rough camping trip

Lazy Oaks Resort is an excellent location for a weekend getaway, a week, or even a month. The cabins are clean, simple, and rustic; but, by no means primitive. The staff is prompt, helpful, and friendly. You can spend the day fishing on Rainbow Lake, watching the local squirrels, ducks, blue herons, owls, and beavers, or take a leisurely walk. Though it feels as though you have left civilization behind, you are still close enough to shopping and unique restaurants in the nearby towns that day trips are an option. An added bonus, this location has cabins for those of you who like to vacation with your dogs.

The cabins are closer together than you would think after viewing the pictures but the main issue was the inside of the cabins. Very old worn broken furniture. Everything from the dishes to the couch looked as if it was bought from a yard sale 20 yrs ago. I’m all for a rustic cabin but it was to the point where I didn’t want my kids sitting on the carpet or couch. When I actually did sit on the couch after a long day, it smelled like a wet dog and had multiple holes with foam coming out. The beds were the hardest I have every slept on and I didn’t know that pillows could be so uncomfortably hard and stiff. The brown shaggy carpet has probably never been steam cleaned and also smelled. The boats for rent are small if you have a bigger family. And the water level was so low that the dock was washed ashore. No area for the kids to really access the water. No kids activities either. It’s really just set up for fishing purposes. We got in at 4:30 and the office closes at 5. There weren’t any available hotels near by so we had to ride it out. I should have asked for a refund but tried to make the best of the trip since my kids were really looking forward to it. We still left days earlier than planned. Next time I will rent an airB&B in Greer Az. Only plus side was that the staff was friendly.

We just spent a week at the resort with our 4 yr old twins and loved every minute of it. The cabins were perfect, the managers and staff were very friendly and made you feel so welcome. This was one of the most relaxing weeks every. The lake and view was beautiful and had we had a blast fishing. We can't wait to go back and stay again. A co-workers mother is going up there to stay in the next week. Thank you so much and we recommend Lazy Oaks Resort to everyone.Tommy and Susan Morales

Great stay last weekend for a family of 6 in the Ponderosa cabin. The view was great, the weather felt amazing and the staff went the extra mile the entire time to make us feel welcome. I would definitely return. Only down points were 1) the living room got extra stuffy because the ceiling fan didn't work BUT there was a box fan that helped (only a few windows and doors had screens so not all could be left open) and 2) Mosquitoes were in full force but some repellent helped make outdoor time enjoyable. Very happy with the visit and will look to return in the future.

The cabin looked nice from the outside. But I had no lakeside view. No good view at all. Just a fence and the back of another cabin. The cabins are way too close together. Getting to some of the cabins is very cramped driving. Too close to trees and or fences. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows too hard. The bathroom sink drain was clogged with hair. And the base of the toilet was black most of the way around. The bedroom door had a hole in it covered with a small square of wood on the front, but the back of the door was still bustedThe fishing docks were pretty much unusableAnd the remaining shoreline is covered with rocks and tree stumps.

Cabins have great potential. Very cute. Need better maintaining as well as docks and boating equipment. Things need Repair and better finishing for the price. Bundle of wood, $7.00 for sm. Bag. 2 days earlier we paid $5.00 for a larger bag at Arizona Mountain Inn and cabins. On a whole we greatly enjoyed our visit. People in the office were very friendly and helpful. We will return. The area was amazing. 👍

Lovely grounds aside from the mass amount of geese poop, cabins are very outdated and the bedding had hair and stains al over it . No ac so was very hot during the day. This place could be so so so amazing if they just updated a few things , suggestions :Go on amazon and buy new white beddingMake sure the dishes and cabin is clean ( I tried to use 3 different glasses and they had crum on it and lip stick)The cabin felt dirty and I had to clean it up myself ,But some new furnitureFix the dock , I almost fell in the water the dock was so tilted and rickity .The host was so beyond amazing and nice but so many little changes they can do here to make it worth the money! I paid a months rent to stay the weekend :( not worth it .
