Great campground to stay at while in Valdez! The Campground Manager Lori was very helpful and kind (and funny). The sites are packed together, which makes it feel a little crowded, but that means every site is within a short walking distance to the facilities. Overall a great experience and very amenable. Thanks Lori!Nearby activities: Glacier views, town activities, gift shops, hiking, mountainous setting, mosquito attacks.Safety: 5 mph speed limit in campground, dogs on leash, cell service.Walkability: Short distance to campground amenities, must drive/bike to get to town (or an hour+ walk).

We had the best time during our stay. The RV we rented was spotless and very nice. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Every single one went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The campground is very clean and has a nice playground area for the kids to play. It was nice to see so many families and kids having a great time. A big thank you to John and Nena, Ellie and Mike, and Brady and Maria for making our stay so welcoming! They make the campground an exceptional place to stay!

Clean, friendly staff with great amenities to include Wifi, grey/black water pick up( the honey wagon), fenced in dog area, coin laundry machines, fun games to include corn hole, horse shoes, frisbee and foosball.Only downside is it’s not walking distance to town. But it is nicer and less cramped than all other places in town.

We were a group of campers mixed with tents, RV’s and Trailers. Lori, the manager, set us up in a section together so we were not scattered about the Kamp. We felt so welcome with signs and flags on our sites to greet us. The grounds were clean and very well maintained. Each site had electric and water. John, came around and emptied the holding tanks for us so we didn’t have to move the whole trailer. He was kind and available for any of our needs.Nena, at the front desk of the little gift shop, was delightful to chat with and very helpful with my questions about how the place worked. There were some lovely Alaskan and Valdez gifts and a nicely stocked parts and necessities section. The grounds are set up around a large open field that has a playground, gathering area and a fenced in doggie play yard. It was very convenient for the kids to be playing together while we held our group discussions. I wish I would have come here when my kids were small, it was so nice to see all the kids playing in the centralized area in eyesight but not underfoot. The dog play yard was nice for some off leash time. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and set up more like a home bathroom would be. I didn’t have to wait in line once to get into a shower. The water never went cold. It had good pressure. The rooms were warm and not a shock to the backside when sitting down.We normally stay in more remote camp areas where you can’t see your neighbor. This was a really great first group camping experience for my family. We will come back with the group again.

We had the BEST WEEK in our Easy Tent!! It is an awesome concept, Easy Camping! You drive up and your tent is ready! 4 cots await a great nights sleep with a gorgeous view of the mountains. The spacious tent has 7 windows for ventilation and plenty of extra space! All you need to bring is your sleeping bag and food. In front of the tent is a covered picnic table that is perfect on a raining day. Across from the campsite is a sweet playground and doggie k9 camp. This awesome KOA has an essentials store, laundry and is 10 minutes from the great town of Valdez where fishing and the Lu Lu Belle cruise are a must ! Also, Lori the manager is one of the kindest people you will ever meet! We were sad to leave and can’t wait to stay here in the future! It was a 5 star family vacation! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this KOA and the Easy Tent!!

We stayed 3 nights in the deluxe cabins. It was clean, dry and warm during the rainy weather. It's a little bit out of town but we liked that and it's closer to the local shore fishing spot, Allison Point. We didn't use the bath house or the laundromat this trip but we have in past years and they were adequate. We've been staying there since it was Bear Creek Campgrounds and the KOA staff are just as friendly as the previous owners. The lady with the Australian accent is very nice. We plan to return next summer.

What a great place to enjoy the outdoors plus have a few amenities. We spent the first part of our trip at a different campground. Moved over to the KOA and couldn't have been happier. The staff is welcoming and personable. The grounds are kept nice and the ability to buy ice, firewood, and get food from a food truck without having to drive to town was amazing.I'm almost double thinking about posting this. Don't want this gem to get too popular.

We stayed here on Labor Day weekend and it was pretty full. Mostly RVs while we were tent camping. The staff we interacted with was very friendly and helpful, including offering us free coffee and donuts one morning. If you're tent camping, there's no real barrier between you and the site over; it's basically just one big gravel parking lot. It caters more to RVs and trailers than tent camping. The map on their website isn't super accurate as to how sites are truly laid out. Close your eyes and imagine what bathrooms and showers look like at an RV park. Yes, that's what they look like. 3 washers and 4 dryers in the laundry facility, which was clean and well laid out - bring lots of quarters ($5+ to wash/dry). Overall it was a fine experience. I'm glad we camped instead of paying ungodly amounts to stay at a mediocre hotel in the town proper. Which reminds me, the KOA is about a 10 minute drive to the town.

KOA Valdez was one of the most remarkable experiences me and my family has had in Alaska. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The facilities were extremely clean and presentable. Just an overall amazing time! Thanks again!

We stayed here for 6 days. This is absolutely the BEST campground in Valdez! Trees, wooded, with beautiful surrounding Mountain View’s!The hosts and owners are the nicest we’ve encountered in AK! There is no sewer but they do have honey wagon service included. The best place by far if you have pets or kids bc there’s grass and open spaces - it’s not a bare parking lot. It’s quiet and peaceful and very well kept. Bonus: right outside the entrance is a bike/running/walking path that goes into town.We are seasoned full time RVers. We give this KoA our “one of the best” places we’ve called home.

Excellent stay, had a roof top tent on our jeep and the manager assigned us the most beautiful spot under the trees. Wonderful employees, location and stay. Will definitely be coming back!

Large, clean and well managed campground close to everything. It has also a salmon spawning creek flow thru some of the sites. Both WiFi and cell signals were very strong .

Great campground and not a parking lot. Owner staff is very friendly and they have a little general store on site in the office. Laundry, showers and restrooms are available in the bathhouse, laundry $2, showers are included. 90 camp sites with 5 cabins, most dry spots have tree coverage. All sites have a fire pit and bench/table.5 minutes outside of down town Valdez. We loved the remoteness of the camp compared to what was available in town. Great views of the surrounding mountains!

Nice big park. Spaces good. Bathhouse small for the size of the park. No heat and no ventilation in the shower rooms so water condensation dripped from the ceiling. Pretty clean.

One of the best RV parks / campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Beautiful location, quiet, right on the bike path, lots of trees, well spaced sites, well kept grass, great facilities, private showers, great store, nice people, really great cable, fast wifi. Comparable in price or cheaper than the in-town RV parks. The nearby Glacier View campground is quieter and does have water and electric, but is only $7 cheaper a night and you get more bang for your buck at the KOA.

Great campground option in Valdez. It's quieter and more grass and trees than those in the downtown area. The owners are over the top helpful! It's a lovely Oasis just outside of town. Highly recommend this park!

We really like this KOA. we have stayed at this location twice. The staff is great and we love the layout of the park. Still is definitely our first pick anytime we are in Valdez. I totally recommend this KOA to anyone looking for a great experience.

I found previous reviews of this place quite misleading. It's a huge RV park, basically a parking lot with no space between sites. We were right up against our neighbor. Sure there are a very few trees scattered around the place but by no means offering privacy or deliberately placed in-between sites. It is just as much a parking lot as the downtown RV parks. The only difference is the surrounding forest. Even so, it's close to the highway and can be noisey. We stayed during labor day long weekend so the place was almost full which meant the bathroom facilities were inadequate with queues forming. The bathrooms themselves we're good, clean and spacious with plenty of hot water. WiFi is totally NOT functional - it does not connect - advising people to restart their device or reset their WiFi makes no sense as the issue is with the WiFi service itself and we found this quite annoying.

Great place for a family stay, bathrooms and showers, great hosts. They even have a solution to come dump your tanks while you're setup. Will stay here again. In the pics is kids playground and the dog run.

It was a very nice KOA with very friendly staff and kept up nicely. We were only planning on staying one night but ended up staying two because it was so easy in and out and not like a parking lot.
