It’s very windy and cool temps up there. June through July is a good time to go. ☺️. This is not a place to stop for long, so as soon as you get up there just start your way down. Expensive to stay overnight, unless it’s on oil company time. I slept in my car. I found a cafeteria with food at one of the big “hotels”, Asked a question or two and left. Spent about an hour in town. There was a parking spot just near the airport to camp by tent and car. Can park for a while. Again, very windy. Tight security. Can’t go to Prudhoe Bay without access code. On maps you can only go up to last 10 miles. It was difficult to get a lot of pictures because I was driving. The main gas station is east to find and operate. I visited a second hotel and the lady was direct and forward. I knew then that indoor housing was going to be expensive to come by. I took a nap in my cozy car and military issue sleeping bag near the airport. The sun never set. I woke up and left. Four stars because they didn’t make it easier to use a real bathroom. They did however, supply food and water for free, and made it easy to find gas. See Dalton Highway review for more photos.

We didn't stay here, but we did do the Arctic tour with Jake, and it was awesome. It was a lot of fun and 100% worth it. If you're driving all the way up, you might as well go to the water, and Jake made it super enjoyable. The entire staff at the camp was friendly and we loved it. The place was super clean, and the food they had was amazing. The chef was outstanding!

Top of the World (U.S.)! Can't believe I made it here! Rented motorcycles with some guys through Motoquest and rode from Anchorage to here and back. Rooms here are very basic, and the showers/bathrooms are separate in another area (not in the room). People here are very nice! They have breakfast and dinner buffets, and they are good, not exactly special, but good! I'm not sure what they do for lunch because I wasn't there. We took a guided tour to the Arctic Ocean, and the driver decided to jump into the ocean for a frozen swim. HE'S CRAZY!!! Good times!

These folks are great. Very accommodating. Planned on tent camping outside of town (motorcycle), but the Arctic winds in the evening were a little too cold for my liking. They had a room with a nice, working heater--that's all I cared about--but looking back, they had fresh linens, darkened windows, and showers. Took the tour to the Arctic sea, dipped my feet. Breakfast was made to order.

We stayed here as part of our Arctic Ocean tour with Northern Alaska Tours. The People, location and accommodations were all very good. (No place gets a "5 Star rating") The food is GREAT & considering all this is a great accommodation + extra's at the end of the Dalton Highway, and a good general store with great Deadhorse Tee's and such, plus real stuff you need! The option to be able to swim, dip or touch your toes into the Arctic Ocean was a WINNER for us. The experience will be in our fondest memories forever. The North Alaska Tour Company is THE TOPS at what they do, and it is so appreciated. Deadhorse Camp is very worth the trip! A great big THANK YOU too all at the camp that made us feel so welcomed and very well fed!

Spent one night here in August while driving up the Dalton. Accommodations are basic - pretty much a dorm room - but it was clean, the beds were comfy, and most importantly, the heat worked well. The staff is awesome, though. I wish I'd caught the manager's name, but he really went out of his way to make us comfortable. We arrived too late for dinner, but he offered to scrape together whatever leftovers he could, then brought us coffee (with real heavy cream!) the next morning.

Flew in for the Arctic Tour. Rooms and community bath are clean and warm. If you can’t sleep with light pouring in, bring blindfolds! We had 24hr sun. Great to see midnight sun, but sleeping can be problematic. Food in cafe was great!

Having worked on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and lived in several different work camps, I find this hilarious! They are charging $219 a night for what was once a pipeline camp room - more sparse and basic than a dorm room and communal shower/bathroom down the hall! We lived in them for free.

I stayed at Deadhorse Camp on August 18, 2014. It was great. My room was very nice with all the basic amenities. The bathroom and shower are public but lots of privacy and no problems. It was very clean and the people were extremely friendly. We had prime rib for dinner and it was as good as many restaurants where I have eaten. Laundry was free and the prices were reasonable considering the location. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see the top of the world. Remember, it is a camp and not a five star hotel. You get what a camp provides. If you cannot handle that, stay off the Dalton.

Basic accommodations for pipeline workers. We had an excellent stay! Food was great, served buffet style, like many similar properties. Everyone was friendly even tho I was a tourist and they had work to do. COLD! Not a lot to see, but great place to stop on your way to the artic ocean!

Mixed review, positive on Deadhorse Camp, but negative on Arctic Ocean Shuttle they offer.Did not spend the night because we had our RV, but the staff here were very friendly and informative, especially Shane and Mike. The food (we ate two meals here) was very flavorful and buffet all you could eat. Appreciated that they had you put on booties over your shoes or boots to keep the perpetual grit out. Nothing fancy, but would rate the camp itself a 4 out of 5.However, have to rate the Arctic Ocean Shuttle purchased through Deadhorse Camp as a 2 out of 5. This shuttle is the only way you can get to the Arctic Ocean because of security in the oil area of Prudhoe Bay. You have to book ahead at least 24 hours for a security check and book online. I expected the swarming clouds of mosquitos and got them. What I did not expect was the microphone not working so the tour guide had to sit near the middle and yell over the engine and road gravel noises. Too bad because he seemed knowledgeable when you could hear him. Did not expect filthy windows on the shuttle so you could not take good photos and when told to open the small windows at the top to use to take photos, they were broken and would not open large enough to put the lens through. I expected tight seating, but not so much that my 6'2" husband was crammed into a corner seat so badly his legs started cramping. Surprised once we got to the ocean to find the rocky shore littered with rusted barrels and debris. This was advertised as scheduled for two hours, but only lasted 1.5 hours. So we can mark it off the bucket list that we put our toes in the Arctic Ocean, but for $69 per person, could have been a much better experience if the shuttle had working equipment and more roomy seating.

I did not stay the night but the accommodations looked very clean and nice for being in such a remote location (in a lifted arctic building!). I took the Prudhoe Bay tour that the Deadhorese Camp offers (make sure to sign up early because they need to do a background check before you can go). The tour was great and the the all you can eat buffet was absolutely wonderful! The staff was really friendly too. The food was great!!!!

Rooms are expensive. Very well maintained. 2 beds in a room. Toilets, Bathrooms, laundry, and shower rooms are shared and are down the hallway. They have a cafe and you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a reasonable cost. Lunch buffet is about 20$. You need to reserve the arctic shuttle To visit The arctic Ocean n see The oil fields. The arctic shuttle leaves from here two times a day. There are a couple of lodges available in Prudhoe Bay. You may want to check there before booking Deadhorse camp. The coldfoot and deadhorse camp are managed by the same authorities.

We did not use the camp, only went to the Arctic ocean shuttle, which is $ 70 per person. It's way too expensive. You can not take pictures on the way to the Ocean because the windows from the bus are to dark. Then he was stopped at the Ocean for about 20 minutes and that's it. Also the ocean was very cloudy you could see only about 50-70 meters. (I know that's not theirs fault)But still it is very expensive and not worth the money at all .....

Though Deadhorse Camp is a spartan workers' quarters, the food they served buffet-style during dinner (only between 6pm – 7pm when we were there for the night) was possibly one of the best meals we've ever had throughout our Dalton Highway trip. They had salmon, pork tenderloin, clam chowder, and even an entire New York cheesecake freshly baked from their kitchen. One of their staff told us we could just pay the $20/person for the buffet dinner and then use their takeout box to put in more food to double as breakfast for the next day, stretching our dollar even more.It was a little pricey at $239 for three people in one room (with just two single beds), but there were few choices in such a remote area. Wi-Fi is not free, but $10 (per device) for 24 hours via their satellite Internet, which I thought was reasonable. It was pretty fast too, compared to the Internet we had in Wiseman!

Rooms are incredibly clean and well kept. Bathroom facilities are group based but very clean. Food is great! You'd be hard pressed to find better within 400 miles in any direction.

Just basic accomodations for the weary traveller. Clean, comfortable rooms. The showers and toilets are down the hall. There is a cafeteria next door but call for details due to the COVID-19 virus restrictions.

Ok, so the bus tour to the Arctic ocean at $60 a head raises eyebrows, but considering you have already committed to driving 1000 miles on gravel if you drove from Fairbanks, or have purchased a plan ticket to get here, just pay the price (make sure you make advanced reservations!). Walking on the frozen Arctic Ocean in June was something we will never forget.

Very expensive. But for the location what coukd I expect. All you can eat buffet but sadly was below part food. Sleeping arrangements were OK. Shared bathroom and showers were standard. Not overy dirty but not super clean.

Great location and nice facilities. It's impressive that the staff are able to make such great meals this far from anything. Be sure to take the Arctic ocean tour.
