Our family has adopted two kittens and gotten care at JAR. They're great people doing great work. They care about the animals they help and always make sure we know what's going on and fees are reasonable. I believe you can also check for a lost pet there as well!

I'm so grateful to Dr. Ward who took great care of my 12 year old cattle dog who is quite a handful. She agreed to help me by removing the numerous porcupine quills from his mouth when I couldn't find a vet clinic that would. Thank you Dr. Ward and your assistant, the lady animal control officer, and office staff I met, you all are wonderful, caring and compassionate to the needy. God bless.

We use their bathtub to get our big dog clean since he won’t fit in our home tub. So glad they offer this for a reasonable price with shampoo included.

I went to inform on boarding and day care for my dog. They were have high standards (like a stool sample even when he has been medically cleared a week before) and they only let the dogs out 2 to 4 times a day for 15 minutes when boarded.At the time they said the day care program was full, but they would be in touch when they had an opening. 3 months later still no word from them.2 stars only because they seem to do a good job with the rescues so 1 star would be cruel.

Rather than animal control bringing my dog back to my place of residence, they take my dog here, in which they can constantly charge me for boarding for however many days, rather than bring my dog home, who, at the time, was a known escape artist & these people (both animal control & GHS) knew who the dog was & his owners. Did they want to do the right thing & bring him back? No! They work with animal control to basically steal peoples animals, charge them out the a$$ & if the owners dont come back for their pets in a set period of time (due to them charhing insane prices for boarding), they turn around & give the pet away to someone else. Stay away from this place at all costs

These folks are SO HELPFUL!!!!They are so accommodating! I needed a microchip verification, and they took us in unscheduled.This is where we adopted our cat. Juneau Animal Rescue is a wonderful, helpful organization. They deserve charitable donations!!!Great job!!!

I don't recommend them. my wife and kids have been going there for months looking for the perfect puppy. and we finally found her. We have excellent references, we have owned our home for 13 years, have a 1/2 acre fenced yard, we have 2 children living at home. We turned in our application, jumped through all the hoops. waited a week. they didn't call our references, they didn't give us an interview, they didn't check our home. and they gave the puppy to someone that turned in thier application after us, that doesn't own thier home and has no kids. 5 days be for Christmas, thank you so much.But they want us to keep checking back? I don't think so!

We walked in 10 minutes before closing time on a Saturday afternoon with a ski laceration to our Austrailian Shepards hind leg and rather than charge an after hours fee or even a visit fee Dr. Harding instead took a quick look in the lobby and reccomended we just continue to change the bandages. Much appreciated, reminded us of our small town vet back home!

I was in town for several days and missed my dogs at home. I called and asked if I could take a dog for a hike and they couldn't have been nicer! Jack, a doberman, was my companion. We had a wonderful walk and if I could have taken him home with me I would have. I hope someone gives that precious dog a forever home very soon. Thank you!

Very helpful when dropping off a animal in need of care anytime even if its closed they have open cages and water available and a lock to lock the animals in and a paper form to fill out
