Super great employees, very helpful. Purchased a high quality large birdcage for the 2 parakeets I just received with only a travel cage while I'm quarantining them from the one I've had for 8 years. They definitely seem more comfortable than squished up in a too tiny cage. I purchased one that was the floor model & they took it apart for me to fit in my vehicle. Helped me locate the dog food I also came in for since mine is getting older & her vet recommended transitioning to a senior diet.

Staff was super friendly and very helpful! Got everything I needed in one trip. My only critique would be that many items are lacking shelf tags so I had to ask for price checks in a few items, but again the staff were very helpful in finding the prices.They have some awesome pet couches I wish I had the space for.

I took my son in for his first pet Kit (Katherine) stopped and helped my son choose a guinea pig. The customer service was excellent and I am so excited we chose to stop here.

First time "fishtanker"..... then this is the place to go! The manager is well versed on different tanks, what type fish go with others in community tanks and after going to Petsmart and Petco I FINALLY found angelfish here.. I was even advised if I'm looking for a specific type of fish they can order it.. There was never this much interaction or support at either of the two big name "pet stores" in Birmingham. If its out the way to go to Vestavia Hills, it's worth it....especially if your new to the tank world and have questions. #fishtankworld

It seems the price goes up as the amount of cat food dwindles. Now I know this is the manufacturer who does this but can't the store fight for us? Every little bit helps. The store, however is always clean and neat, it is always staffed well with knowledgeable people. I keep going back for that reason.

Loved the store, got a new furry family member. Decent selection of healthy animals and some cats for adoption. Prices a little higher than other stores but convenience and quality even out.

Pet Supermarket is a really nice pet food store. I've been able to find more elite brands of dog food that is the raw all natural foods like primal Frozen and primal freeze-dried I prefer the frozen so that's good. And they had lots of nice sweaters and collars treats chewbones supplements things to choose from. The store is very clean the employees very kind and very helpful. The only problem I encountered was pricing. The items were not priced. So you had to wait till you got to the checkout to discover what your bill was. Gulp mine was pretty high. But I didn't mind because I went in there with the express purpose of buying things for my baby girl and that's exactly what I did. I fully intend to return. I recommend this place if you love your baby (fur baby that is). I'm happy to be here

Great place to shop for your fur babies! I buy pet toys, cat bed, scratching posts, treats, anything your fur baby might need! My fur babies are family, so yes, we celebrate their birthdays!! The yellow circular tower toy with the balls in it is their favorite!! Even my older cat plays with it!

Not great on the prices but good for convenience and the staff is especially friendly and knowledgeable. It's my go to for quick pick up guinea pig supplies...I would still say the same experiences as my last post. The staff is always super duper friendly and greet you when you walk in . The hay I get for my guinea pigs is a comparable price I think to competitors. The vitamin c drops unfortunately are 3 times higher than Amazon. I hate to use Amazon, but when it's that much more expensive 😫, I gotta go with them. I understand Mark up sometimes , maybe they have to order it from a crazy distributor.The store is always clean.

A nice little place tucked in the corner that has just about anything you'd need for your pets. I was surprised that they actually sold crickets there. I came in expecting to be disappointed, and without fail, they brought some out!

Have have been to many pet super markets and it was my first time to this one and will be my last. The reptile cage needs to be attended to. The water was nasty and some had very little water. Might be a snake it they are still pets

Amazing store super friendly people. Sent my husband lastnight to get a ferret! I had called earlier in the day and talked to Caleb he was outstanding and answered every question I had amazing employee! I live almost two hours away. Well worth it. Gardendale pet supermarket is horrible.

I've gone here for years! Recently, they have NO NEON FISH! Been Several different times looking for new fish. NONE! Don't understand/haven't asked. Other products are good, as long as u can find it. Prices are Normal. I started going to different pet store for Fish!

most staff very helpful and friendly, in particular the guy with dark hair and glasses (cant remember his name), but the associate ringing up my items (different guy) gave the vibe that checking out my items was an inconvenience to him, and refused to use the employee discount on my partner's account. not sure if the policy has changed since the last time ive been to a pet supermarket, but this is the first issue ive had with it. regardless, i'll still be coming back here if necessary.

Just went in to buy a very expensive pair of clippers as I am a professional dog groomer. Let me say… I LOVE this store, and While the selection is excellent, the employees take it from great to exceptional! They go above and beyond to make sure that you get the best deal and treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door! and luckily my salon is close by!! I am so glad I can pop over for all my needs! I am one very, very happy shopper, and will be back as much as I can!

Saturday 7/15/23 we visited the Vestavia location and saw some Butterfly Koi priced $18.99 for 3-4 inches. After talking to the clerk about them we told him we were going to the movies now but will be back afterwards to buy a few of the Koi. We just returned to the store picked out the ones we wanted. Then noticed that between the time we left and returned to buy them the clerk took the $18.99 tag away and left the more expensive tag $22.99. The clerk then acted like he didn't know what we were talking about. Needless to say we handed back the Koi and left. That behavior did nothing but loose Pet Supermarket new customers. We had planed to not only buy a few fish, but also a bunny and all the items needed for thar new bunny and any future needed supplies.

An employee of the store was trying to tell me that I needed a 30 gal. tank for 2 or 3 gold fish. Knowing most gold fish don't get very large before they die. But he was very nice and I understand where he was coming from.

Use to be a great place to shop before the got rid of good people. Anthony(bald headed manager) is horrible, unfriendly, and always seems mad. Maybe not the line of work for him. Always dirty and cluttered.

The store was super clean and they had some adorable Halloween costumes and items for dogs. 🎃 They didn't have the specific brand of dog food I came in for but it can be hard to find so I won't hold it against them, lol. There were plenty of choices and a super large selection. I was able to get something comparable and hopefully the pups like it.

got my sweet baby cinnamon (cici) here about a month ago, they have the sweetest employees !! i drove about two hours from home to get her , they were super nice about everything. i've had some problems with the pet supermarket closer to me, but this one is wayyy better! i don't know how old she is though, i wish i did. but i called about a hour in advance to see if they had one & they held and played with her to get her ready to come home with me! you can really tell they care about animals & the well being of their store!

First time visit... the store was clean and well organized. They didn't stock the small version (14") of the "Chuck-It" stick, however as we browsed, we had several questions about the lizards and the birds and the young female associate was very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. A pleasant experience.

My dog loves sweet potato treats and he has been prescribed a low protein diet to protect his liver. Pet Supermarket has the best selection of low protein foods and treats. Thankfully it is close to home and my kids school and activities.
