You guys are good at what you do, but I do not like how I brought my 6month old puppy in and she was scared to death and when she was handled she was dragged everywhere by the doctor and the techs by the collar to the back. Even my 4year old child asked me why are they treating Mya like that. It’s been a few days and I’m still disturbed and bothered every time I think about it I still get upset seeing how upset and scared she was and instead of helping her be calm she was dragged like a wild animal. I paid money for my baby to be treated here , as she was. I just didn’t like how it was done. I feel there should be a better way to handle the animals here. I work at A veterinary specialist hospital and we have never ever dragged our animals by the collar by no means . My dog wasn’t even aggressive , it was just pure fear of being in a new environment. No pet owner should have to go through seeing their animal treated like a circus pet. There was obvious resistance with my dog, no aggression just fear. She literally was sliding across yalls floors . I didn’t like that.

I took my dog there for a bath. She normally goes there they gave her shots. I told him not to give her any shots because she just had puppies and I didn’t want those chemicals in my puppies. I was informed by the veterinarian that that is his call when he sees what goes on he determined was good for my dog and not me so I withdrew my dog from there and got the paperwork. Don’t visit there if you can’t be in control of your own animal that you feed and take care of. How do they figure they can that’s wrong.

I brought my chihuahua in and Dr.Shirley saw her throughout the whole stay. From the first 2 days of fluids/antibiotics to after surgery, and up until discharge. Dr. Shirley kept me up to date and loved on my baby. She took on my chihuahua like she was her own dog, and basically saved her life.. She just went above and beyond for my family. We are Thankful for the whole HVC practice but, Dr. Shirley is special to us. 😪❤

I live an 1.5 hours away from this clinic. I called the morning of 4/5/24 to confirm what times the doctor would be there for an ear crop consultation. Hueytown vet clinic confirmed the doctor would be there until 5PM. I drove the hour and a half for said consultation just to find out the doctor was not there at 3PM. Nobody made the effort to contact me back prior to the doctor leaving. All I received was a “you can come back Monday”The lack of respect this clinic has for its customers is ridiculous. I will not be returning or recommending anyone to use this clinic.

I’ve interacted with a lot of veterinarians around the Birmingham area, Hueytown Vet Clinic & Pet Lodge are some of the most passionate veterinarians I have had the pleasure of meeting.They are open on Saturday and Sunday, so those weekend visits are not extra expensive. So save you money and come here, you won’t be disappointed.

Was surprised a vet was available on a Sunday. My poor old girl couldn't breath well and they took her immediately and helped her. Dr Wright was wonderful. The level of care was exceptional. A+++

Dr Blake Champion is the best! We had a rescue that just had a hardware removal done by him and it went better than we could have expected! We did have some minor complications, and her leg split open 2 weeks after the surgery. We brought her back in, and Dr Champion said that her bone (that the hardware was in) got displaced. He is recommending a full leg amputation now. Me and my partner are in our early 20’s and we don’t have a lot saved. He actually took over 50% off of our surgery price! Hueytown Vet Clinic truly takes the best care of us.Quinn loves y’all too!

They are amazing but I don't like the fact that there is no contact with them after hours to check on your baby and they didn't send my baby home with pain meds when she got fixed two days ago. Other than that, their great.

I took my Bernese for her first appointment last week. They service was outstanding. No appointments, just walk-ins, but the wait time was very reasonable. The facilities are beautiful and super clean. The personnel were super considerate of my dog being a puppy and without me asking put us in a private room right away. The prices for routine care are also very good. It is a bit of a drive from Birmingham where I live, but worth it. I will definitely continue to bring my Eleanor back for her routine care.

This vet office is very clean and the staff is professional in my experience. My dog has had an occasional weeze and cough for the past month so I took him in for an exam to check for heartworms and thankfully he doesn't have them but it could be a heart or respiratory illness so I'm taking him back for an x-ray and MRI. Hopefully it'll be an illness we can treat.

This place is amazing!! I drive 155 miles from Atlanta to have my pets taken care of here. The service is better and cheaper. For emergencies I have a local doctor 15 minutes from my house I go to…before I take the trip…..if it’s an issue I can hold off for a day or so…Hueytown it is. Sometimes it ends up being more expensive that way but I trust this place when it comes to a proper diagnosis. They know their stuff! Dr. Birchfield is great. Very educational and very thorough. When I leave the clinic I leave with complete confidence, knowing my animals have received the best care possible . This clinic is RARE! Truly a gem to my family.

My Neph-Dog Gino goes here 2-3 days out of the week. The staff is friendly and the building is amazing. It doesn't smell like "dog" in there. He is always so happy and tired when he comes home. His best friend is Bart. Keep up the good work.

I don't usually post reviews, but I could not recommend Hueytown Veterinary Clinic enough!! My husband and I rescued a stray cat late last year, and the cat has had severe stomach issues for over a year. During that year, we went to numerous vets who simply waved off our concerns with a dewormer shot, yet our dumpster kitty never got better. We finally took the hour car ride to Hueytown, and they were SO good with him!! They were gentle handling him, and the veterinarian took the time to listen to my concerns and actually ran tests (This is the first time since we took our cat in that someone actually ran a test). Within 2 days they called with their findings and had the correct medicine ready to go! Everything about our experience was great. From the front desk staff to the doctors. PLEASE take your fur babies here. They will care for your furry family like it's their own.

24 hours after boarding at HVC for several days...THIS is what we found on our GSD. Took her right in, spent hundreds more on vet bill and meds. HVC should have owned it, this was STAF infection, she got it there. No other way. They should have made it right, on their dime since her infection was from being boarded there.

We have used Dr Champion and Dr Birchfield for both of our dogs. Have always been satisfied with the service we have received until today 9/9/23. Your office hours clearly state that you are open until 12:30. So when you walk in at 10:40 you expect to be seen only to be told that you stop seeing pets at 10:30. You should clarify that on your office hours. I expected so much more since we have been loyal to Hueytown Veterinarian for the last twenty years.

I highly recommend using Hueytown Veterinary Clinic for your pets. I'm not from this area originally. I'm from a small Ma & Pop area so I had fairly high standards for how my pets would be treated along with how they communicate with me. We've proudly been customers for 10 years. The support that has been offered in some of the hardest moments with our pets is unmatched. If you want a Vet & staff to love and treat your pet like their own look no further.
