Standifer’s is the only place I have ever taken my beloved mini-dachshund puppy, Bett. Dr. Washington and the staff there seem to care about her so much and are always loving on her when I pick her up. Dr. Washington gets back to me at any time when I have concerns.

First visit for adjustment and acupuncture for our sweet 16 year old golden. We drove 45 minutes for this visit as there are very few integrated approach veterinarians. Our normal vet had heard great things also and was totally supportive of this visit. Dr Cooley was so nice and through. She explained everything Susie was going through and what she would be doing. We felt she was very caring and very informative. We already have another visit planned! Additionally we thought the front office was also super nice.

Excellent experience. My cat and I were seen on the same day that I asked for an appt. Everyone, staff and vet were very friendly, helpful, and informative. If my cat had opposing thumbs he would also give them 5 stars.Standifer's is my new clinic for all my cats needs.

Very friendly staff and veterinarians. Really helping us out a lot with our two little pups one of whom is very old and needs a lot of attention. Always enjoy going over to the vet because of Mark in the front office and Dr, Washington one of them vets. Recommend.

We typically see Dr. Washington, who we love so very much. This time we saw Dr. Cobb. She is amazing. So thorough, kind, and patient. Her innovative thinking and compassionate caring make us not want to ever find another vet office. Also, shout out to Mark who works the desk (and probably does a million other things). You rock buddy!

I can’t recommend this vet’s office enough. I have a very reactive, very protective one year old Australian Shepherd. Dr. Washington and Tiara were so kind and gentle and willing to work with him to make him comfortable. They took their time until he was comfortable around them so he wouldn’t have to be sedated and by the end he was even willing to let Tiara pet him which is genuinely so impressive. They gave me tips on how to help him be less stressed out in situations and asked me to bring him back for Happy Visits just so he can feel happier and safer when he needs to go to the vet. I’ve never had a vet’s office care so much about my animals.

I needed a groomer for my Goldendoodle. I called and got an appointment the same week with Stephanie. The front office staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful too!Stephanie did an amazing job! I told her exactly how we wanted our pup to look and she delivered. We definitely will be returning! My family and I highly recommend Standifer!

Your incredible attentiveness to her needs and our concerns is so appreciated. She came in practically lifeless. You diagnosed a potential intestinal blockage. Because of your treatment and resolving her belly issues, she bounced back fantastically well. By evening she was running, and having regular bowel movements. Only left two stars Mark. He is an amazing front desk, or it will be no star review. But we think our cats have ringworm and waited for a week for results, no oral meds is giving until the result is back, they said the results only takes 1-4 days to come back and now has been a week. My cat is now sicker with no care. I’m super disappointed at this place. I understand the stuff are nice but I genuinely don’t like the medical treatment and performance here.

Being new to Birmingham, I have yet to find a trusted vet for my cats wellness exams. I had planned to leave out of town Saturday morning, but on Friday evening, my cat Poncho, vomited twice & struggled to urinate. I researched vets near me that opened early Saturday morning and landed on a few, Standifer’s being one. After pricing a few vets near me, Kristen answered the phone and after explaining to her my situation, she passed the call to Dr. Washington. He listened to my concerns, gave me a reasonable quote, and thoroughly explained the science behind how he would treat Poncho if she was suffering from what he thought she had. He encouraged me to come in and I arrived at 8:10 AM, within 5-10 minutes after ending the phone call.Kristen, at the front desk, was so kind & welcoming. I filled out the necessary paperwork & Kristen led us to the room where the doctor would see us. Within 1 minute of being there, I barely sat down before Kelsey & Dr. Washington both entered the room and introduced themselves before taking Poncho back to run tests. They trimmed her nails and brought her back within ten minutes! I was shocked at the turnaround time. Never have I ever experienced a vet visit so fast. We were out the door by 8:35 AM.Poncho’s visit didn’t require the maximum tests so, I left paying HALF of what I initially expected. A quick vet visit, great care for my baby & paying less than what I was quoted - five stars for this clinic hands down!

It was amazing! I had an urgent need. I called and Mark spoke to me... many times...I am sure I exhausted his patience.. just kidding...but he was kind and professional and went the extra mile to meet my need. Tiffany the groomer saved the day by helping my pup and the doctor...who wasn't even needed in the experience...joined in with Tiffany and helped make my very anxious puppy feel comfortable without creating trauma.. she even came out and spent time with me at pick up and walked me through my pup's experience that day and how I can prevent it in the future!!! Stellar job on all levels !!!!....and a HUGE shout out to Kristen who was a lifesave yo me as well !!! Lovely team !!!!!

Dr Cobb, the kind folks in reception, and the vet techs are all amazing. Lazuli and Sasha both love all the attention and care they receive there. Dr Cobb always gives as much time as needed to answer any and all questions. We wouldn’t take our pets anywhere else. Kenneth W Barnes

Dr. Washington always takes plenty of time with our fur baby and is very thorough in his examination and explanations. Mark at the front desk is super kind and organized and loves in our pets and makes us feel like family. Tiffany grooms our cocker spaniel tenderly and she always looks amazing after her spa day. We’ve been with Standifers for years now and have always had excellent care.

Tiffaney has groomed my puppy twice now she is absolutely amazing. She takes such time and is so kind to him as well as their front office staff. The first time I went to pick my baby up from his first big boy haircut the Vet tech at the front desk had my then 60lb Bernedoodle on her lap "because he wanted attention". We tried an in-home groomer a couple weeks ago and the experience was horrendous. I will never take my huge little guy anywhere else

I have been going to Standifer’s for decades and will never go back. There is one vet tech, Mark, who is amazing. Sadly, he works at a dumpster fire. They are expensive, staff turnover is high, and the level of care has dropped precipitously since Dr. Standifer stepped away from the business. Medications have been forgotten multiple times. After two biopsies there were no post-procedure instructions. Overall, sloppy work from individuals phoning it in under a past owner’s good reputation. Overpriced dumpster fire. Even the grooming was lackluster. But the final straw was paying thousands of dollars for diagnostic tests and biopsies and receiving zero empathy or, more relevantly, answers to our pet’s problem. I’d rather eat at Arby’s than trust Standifer’s ever again.

We love Dr. Washington. Not only did he save my dog's life with an emergency surgery last year, but he also was empathetic to our worries and made sure that we knew what was happening ever step of the way. We also LOVE Mark! He is always personable, friendly and funny and obviously loves animals. He is always a joy to speak to.

The staff and doctors are kind, caring and compassionate. They take good care of my senior dog. She has had 3 serious medical events in the past 6 years and they have literally saved her life/improved her life/extended her life through treatment and/or surgery and done so with genuine compassion not only for me and my dog for also my budget. I have also boarded my dog there twice and they take great care of my dog and are happy to provide me an update when I call every day. I would not take my dog anywhere else.

Dr. LaRocca and Haley were awesome. They were so kind and patient with my baby and I (this is my 1st fur baby). They answered all of my questions, and made us feel right at home. I plan to utilize the daycare once Louie has finished receiving all of his shots and our next visit is already booked. The young lady at the front desk was also very nice and took care of us. Dr. LaRocca also taught me a trick to get my puppy to stop biting! We are grateful!
