LET ME START BY SAYING THE STORE WAS VERY ORGANIZED AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE !!! CUSTOMER SERVICE on the other hand was AWFUL !!! I don’t normally go to this Dollar General, but I drove the extra miles to see what kind of nails they had because the DG I normally go to didn’t have a wide selection. I decided to exchange the nailed from a previous purchase along with my receipt from the purchase that did not work for me for something else I didn’t want to risk the same thing happening again. The Cashier went to get the manager and the manager said That is a factory problem if they did not stick to my nails and she would NOT do the RETURN . I then said I haven’t had a problem with any other Dollar General or any other store for that matter.. Her response was I’m not the other Dollar General. I proceeded to leave the other items I was getting ready to purchase at the register and told her I will go to another Dollar General , I have never gotten a response like that and will not go back to THIS Dollar General!! Customer service is the key!! THIS HAPPENED THIS MORNING 04/09/2024!!

I visited the store yesterday with my wife, and my wife was asking for help. The associate was rude, disrespectful and she was not willing to help. The associate huffed and puffed when asked to do her job. Her actions and words were more than unprofessional. At the end of it all, she gave my wife the middle finger.There were two associates there, Nesha was kind and polite. The other associate was not wearing a name badge and she was extremely unpleasant.I will never visit this location of Dollar General again.

Will not go to this Dollar General again. You can't check out unless paying with a card. Who knows where the employee was. I wanted to buy a few greetng cards and was not going to use credit or debit card for a 5 dollar purchase.

Easily the worst Dollar General I have been in! It is always junkie when you walk in and usually do not have what I need in stock. I automatically go to Pelham Store.

It was wonderful this time around.A manager was on duty who was extremely kind. She even told me about a superb sail that was not put out yet. I purchased some quality items at excellent savings.

One of the worst DGs I've been to in the country. Half the time they're out of what you need, and every employee there gets an attitude and does t want to help if you don't use the self checkout. Absolutely awful management. For a nice area, this shouldn't be accepted DG.

Always feel welcomed when I walk through the door. Its so great to have a place close by that has a little bit of everything. Sometimes I don't want to go into a big grocery store and only need one or two things, I will usually run and get those things (and usually find more than I went in DG for). Cant beat the service and prices on most items.

Wonderful! Manager Mike truly gets to know his customers. He will go out of his way to assist customers.His store should be renovated next.He doesn't treat customers like a number at all.The atmosphere when he is present is kindness, caring, considerate and more!

This Helena, AL Dollar General is easily the best staffed and stocked of their local franchised stores (Shelby County area). It seems they always have the items we have shopped there to get. On the rare occasion when we could not find what we sought, the staff will locate it from their stock room, or have it available within a day or two.Friendly and helpful employees are always pleased to assist their customers.

Rushed in to buy batteries for an infant vibrating seat. My FIRST Grand Baby was coming to my house to visit. Store Manager, Laurie, listened to me go on and on about my purchase and my Grand Son. We had some laughs together and I told her about my 3 children and how Dollar General fits into my family story. My kids favorite memory is selecting a frozen treat from the freezer on hot summer days! Thanks Dollar General! I can’t wait to bring my Grand Son in to select a treat!

Sweet helpful staff you can count on seeing every time you go. I'm always surprised by some of the cosmetics that are offered. Loving this Shea butter coconut oil moisturizer I found today. I like their cleaning products and containers a lot too. And of course it wouldn't be a trip to dDollar General without Haribo gummy bears.

Dollar General in Helena is great to pop in and grab a few things. Bargain prices for less money than grocery stores or drugstores. The isles are narrow and it can be challenging to find certain items. However there is customarily a team member close by to assist you. Lines can be slow and long checking out. Possibly due to store policy of not having many employees on staff (saving money). Staff is friendly and helpful.

I love shopping at this store very friendly and helpful employee,the store always clean and neat ,I live in Bessemer/McCalla the Dollar general around my area is always nasty employee are not friendly, never have a full stock on the selves,I drive all the way to Helena to do my shopping,I think the higher end people need to step into the Bessemer/McCalla stores more often

I never thought that shopping at a Dollar General store on Veterans Day would be a highlight. But interacting with the cashier was a treat! He asked, "Are you a veteran?" After I answered, "Yes," he told me that not only was I entitled to the holiday discount; but a military discount is given to all eligible customers on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Yay! Every little bit helps.

Never in my life I was cursed out and banned from the store because I was brought a pair of shoes by my landlord my 70-year-old landlord that owns half of the houses in Helena that would never steal or think of stealing anything in her life and when I went to leave I had on a pair of new balance tennis shoes and a smaller pair of Nike in my basket and when I went to check out I was questioned by a guy that called himself the manager maybe he’s gone now because I called corporate and complained but there was also a long brown haired girl that has been there for ever that after the event happened and I went back in she told me to leave and would not allow me to shop I was accused of possibly stealing maybe a pair of shoes that they don’t even sell because my feet were hurting so my landlord lives right down the road I had to finish my shopping she was coming by there anyway and brought me another pair of shoes they don’t even sell them at the store they don’t sell namebrand items like Nike and new balance not only did he question and threaten me but he told meGet out of his effing store and do not effing come back so I pray they got new staff I would not go back in there I’ve been banned from the store and I live right behind it and have for seven years I have been treated so horribly in that store it is horrific

Items hanging outside are very mis-leading on sale prices. Inside as well.staff doesn't care if you visit them again. Be careful of their sale signs.

Dollar General is my Walmart. If I can get it at DG I NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE. That's why I love Dollar General. I'm only 4 miles away from my favorite Dollar General.

The aisles were blocked by stock bins and you couldn't get to items on shelves. Restocking should take place when customers aren't in the store.

Worst dollar general I've visited and I don't go in many, nothing was in order, shelves were destroyed 3 cashiers up front talking about fight skills from an attacker, store just turned upside down.
