Cute little parlor to stop at! The guy was super friendly and let our girls try as many samples as they wanted. He was very helpful and quick. Got us in and out! The place was really clean which I appreciated. They have a ton of flavors to choose from and different kinds of treats. You can choose Italian Ice, frozen custard and soft serve ice cream. You can have it straight ice, straight frozen custard, straight soft serve or make it into a milkshake, blendini, concrete with candy pieces and more! They have several toppings you can add on top of anything you choose. We highly recommend anyone try this place if you are looking for a sweet treat especially on a hot day!

Best custard and ice ever. We uses to eat here in Galveston TX and we're so excited to find one in Gulf Shores. Fresh ice flavors, good variety of custards. Gotta have the gelati- mango ice with vanilla custard is amazing. Prices a bit steep but typical for custard.

Yes please ! We tried the custards and the ice several times this week ! Yum ! The cotton candy ice and tropical and vanilla were all good I think someone in our group at least tried them all . So delicious highly recommend for a nightly treat

Service was fine, but the custard tasted like frozen Cool-Whip. Seriously, it was bad. The brownies were gross. Nobody in our party of 5 finished theirs. Just not good.There's a small boutique below.

Great place for a treat after a day at the beach. Little overpriced but that’s pretty much to be expected. This is the Reese’s Cup Mudslide concrete with chocolate custard. Reese’s cups, Reese’s pieces and caramel sauce. Definitely hit the spot!

We came here for dessert after dinner one night during our anniversary getaway! We came in and were the only ones, and got treated like the most important people! The 2 employees working were so passionate and informative on everything and fixed us some amazing treats! Definitely plan to go back!

(Editing my review from last year) we love Rita's and try to find and visit ones whenever we travel! This one was awesome last year and largely still is, with one exception. This year on our first visit we asked for sugar free ice and was told there was none. So we got regular, which wasn't a problem, but then ordered the cherry ice & chocolate misto only to be told by the boys working that chocolate wasn't an option anymore. So I disappointedly got just the ice. The next day we went back again, mostly for the kiddos, and I my wife asked about a chocolate misto. To our surprise the girl working this time said she absolutely could make one for us, she just had to go in the back to do it. Which was totally fine, but we felt like the boys the night before lied to us because they didn't want to be bothered by it. We came back a few more times and got exactly what we wanted each time, so overall great just disappointed in that first visit.

Such a cute place to go! We saw the alligator and the gelati was amazing! Definitely recommend if traveling and want a fun place to go at night! There is a space to eat outdoors and it is such a vibe!

Rita’s was not our first choice for a sweet treat tonight but after searching town and everything being packed we decided to give it a try! Man were we pleasantly surprised. The lady working gave us all the samples we wanted to try and explained what all they had available to us! The five of us all found something different and everyone loved what they chose. Highly recommend!!

Had to wait about 20 minutes behind two small parties. There was only one person working and it took forever. On the plus side the Italian ice and custard tasted great and the girl behind the counter was pleasant and doing the best she could. Hopefully they will be better staffed next time.

We go there every year for some Fantastic ice cream!! Andrew was serving us and he was alone and he was Incredible!!! He definitely needed at least 2 more people. The line was so long and he just kept serving all of us with a smile. Whoever the owner is.. Andrew deserves a raise!! But you do need more people serving.. he shouldn’t have to take on that many people. Go Andrew!!!!!

Came here for custard and it was just terrible. I come from up North where frozen custard is everywhere and it is usually dense and rich. The chocolate custard here was like chocolate cool whip, exactly as another reviewer said. Despite a medium having cost more than $7.00, my husband and I ate three bites each and threw it out.

Love their Italian ice and custard! We come every year!Difficult parking situation though. Small lot with about 8 spaces. Saw a lot of people leave because they couldn't park. I know they can't help it, just hate to see them lose business.

I likes it, would try it again, I got mango and my neice got pina colada, theses flavors were to sweet, they needed a taste element they were lacking , but my sons got pink lemonade and sour patch kids, and they were better, also the sugar free tangerine was good for being sugar free

Their website said they’re open until 10pm end the sign in the parking lot said they were open until 9pm. We arrived at 8:45pm and there were people eating inside but the door was dead bolted and they would not open the door or answer the phone. Very rude, I would not recommend going here

Wonderful experience with our kids! They were very cheerful while serving us. They were patient with our kids. They encouraged us to try as many flavors as we wanted. The frozen treats were delicious and overall it was an excellent time. I recommend the shaved iced with the custard on top!

We sampled almost every flavor and had a hard time choosing because everything was delicious! My daughters went for gelatis, which consisted of layers of frozen custard and Italian ice. The owner or salesperson was sweet and friendly.

First time visiting Rita’s and it was delicious! The two young men working were SO helpful! As soon as we arrived Maddux asked if it was our first time here and when we replied yes, he gathered us around the coolers and explained what each item was… and said we could taste whatever we wanted. Great service, delicious custard and Italian ice. Will return if we are ever in this area again! Great job guys 😊 👍🏼

Third time’s the charm! I’m editing this review because it was finally open all these months later and it was delicious. Original post: We love Rita’s Italian Ice and try to go every time we’re on vacation. We tried twice to go to this one during posted business hours. They weren’t open both times. The second time, the employees were inside, but the door was locked. Vacation is ending so we won’t be back.

Awesome customer service! Owner/manager was wonderful. We feel like she is a friend. She catered to our choices by making the flavors we requested for a return visit. Overall they carried many flavors of both custard and Italian water ice. Highly recommend this location over others in the Gulf Shores area.

The staff was very nice and the shop was clean. The custard was just not my favorite. It just didn't seem creamy or rich enough for me. I may have just chosen the wrong thing. I see lots of reviews that the Italian ice is great.
