Large welcome center in Alabama for passenger vehicles and large transport trucks. Lots of space to stretch your legs, walk your pets, or have a roadside picnic. Vending machines are outside in the back of the building. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

We have traveled the US a good deal by car and we are always impressed by the beautiful rest areas in the State of Alabama. They are plentiful, always extremely well maintained and most are staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people. This center on I59 North, near exit one, is no exception. Many picnic tables, lots of shade and convenient vending machines with credit card slots. Alabama is an example.

Clean facilities, lot of snacks - didn’t see employees but I did come late, they preach a lot of safety things which is good for the road, not enough of that in current times. They had free outlets to charge your phone - free sitting areas to relax, trash cans - it has the necessities. Wheel chair accesible so they’re overall white good!

Arrived at the "Welcome Center" on Interstate 20 at 8 minutes until 5pm. Doors locked, no information available. Power off to the vending machines, but luckily the lights were on in the bathroom. Also, never got the Alabama tourist information I requested online 12 weeks ago. Very poor tourist service. Fortunately, Louisiana and Mississippi were much more accomodating, online and in both Welcome Centers.

The outside atmosphere was beautiful, lots of trees, shady, and lots of picnic tables to sit at. The inside could have been cleaner and the vending machines need to be restocked and updated but like I said the outside atmosphere was great!

A fine rest stop. Huge parking area for trucks and travel trailers. Plenty of sturdy cast concrete picnic tables. Nice shelters. Special handicap access route signs, I assume to close parking. Clean restrooms, big info wing.

We locked our keys in the car at this rest stop with 3 kids and a puppy!! B and Aaron came to the rescue immediately- they went completely out of their way to help us and truly saved the day! I will never forget their generosity and kindness!

Found the access difficult and since not handicapped had to hike to the restrooms which were not super clean. Then the welcome staff was into their own private conversations, seemed disinterested in traveler's. Kinda sad, since the Mississippi welcome center was really good and staff was super friendly.

The restrooms themselves need a bit of an update but they were clean. It was cheerily decorated and have a great room full of information about places to visit in Alabama and there was a real person in there that was friendly and helpful.

This has to be the worst ran/managed rest area on all of I-20. The vending machines are almost always empty or nearly so. Not to mention how nasty they are. The bathrooms were somewhat clean and if you really have to go, they will do. Beware of sticking your hand into the vending machines to get your item you purchase. There is some funky gunk in the bottom of them you don't want to get your hands in! Forrest Gump and Neil Young could keep this place ran better on their worst days!

Clean and well-lit. Plenty of TP, soap and water. Appreciate the choice between a towel or an air dryer for my hands. Staff on site were cleaning; this adds to the sense of safety. Thank you.

Please fellow truckers, don’t mess up this place. Big spaces for truckers (and travelers by car) to rest. They have enough trash bins and dumpster. Grateful for the govt to allocate the fund to build and maintain this rest area/welcome center

Plenty of parking space, fine and tidy restrooms and a nice indoors area. The outdoors space was very nice for walking our dog and the sign about DeSoto was interesting to read while waiting for our party

Numerous broken toilets, overflowing trash cans, and empty vending machines. This place needs attention. Establishing a negative precedent as a Welcome Center.

Good stop and nice grounds that were clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were decently clean and stocked with soap and paper towels. (Missouri Welcome Center was not) I wish they had a better state line photo op for the kids, but it was definitely sufficient.

We stopped here to get a quick photo of the Welcome to Sweet Home Alabama sign. When we went inside, the bathrooms were clean and everyone was friendly.
